  • Note: Marie E. Franz, age 94, our loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother, passed away into God our Savior’s arms. Her prayers were answered and she is now with her husband Lloyd, her oldest son David, and her second son Paul in Heaven.

    Marie was born September 8, 1918 in Kaukauna to the late Joseph and Emma (Reinhardt) Scheller. She graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1936 and from Bellin Memorial School of Nursing in Green Bay in 1939. She married Lloyd Franz October 12, 1940 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kaukauna.

    Marie was employed at Theda Clark Hospital as an RN from 1940 to 1960. She then worked for Neenah Visiting Nurses from 1962-1977, retiring when her husband retired. She was a member of Martin Luther Church for over 60 years and taught Sunday School there for 10 years. She was also a member of the church’s Ladies Aide and Bible Classes, as well as a member of Winnebago County UW extension Home Makers Club. She enjoyed traveling, square dancing, crocheting, needle work, reading, baking, and cooking.

    Marie was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Lloyd in 2001; her loving son David in 2004; and her loving son Paul in 2009; and her sister Hazel in 2012. She is survived by her son Phil (Debi) Franz; daughters-in-law: Jane Franz and Carol Franz; grandchildren: Ann (Dave) Phelps; Susan (Marcello) Garcia-Franz; Brett (Sarah) Franz; Chris (Angela) Franz; Josh Franz; and Dan Franz; as well as seven great-grandchildren.

    The funeral service for Marie will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Martin Luther Church, 436 S. Lake St., Neenah, Revs. Jason Oakland and Richard Krahn officiating. Visitors will be received at church from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

    In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to Martin Luther Church in Marie’s name.

    The family would like to thank Dr. Curtis Baltz and his staff for their many years of medical care. We would also like to thank Island Shores for their care and support, and Theda Clark nurses and staff for their outstanding care.

Alice Mae Carnot

  • Marriage: She and Gerald Diestler were married on August 2, 1947.
  • Death: Alice Mae Carnot died on July 30, 2012, at age 86.
  • Burial: She was buried in Union Cemetery, Hortonville, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Alice Mae Diestler of Hortonville, Wisconsin went to her heavenly home July 30, 2012, at the age of 86. Alice was born at the family home in Kaukauna, Wisconsin on March 30, 1926, the daughter of the late William and Edith (Meyer) Carnot.

    Alice married Gerald Diestler from Hortonville, on August 2, 1947. The two resided in Hortonville most of their life. Alice was a member of Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church.

    She is survived by her son, Kurt (Darla) Diestler (Hortonville); son-in-law, Bruce Stamm (Larson); four grandchildren, Ryan Diestler (St. Paul, MN), Holly Diestler (Plover), Ben (Robyn) Dorn (Little Chute), Tyler Dorn (special friend Robyn) (Greenville); two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Alice is further survived by two sisters, Joanne Franz (Kaukauna) and Noami Carnot (New Berlin); one sister-in-law, Mary Carnot (Kaukauna); and many nieces and nephews.

    Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry; daughter, Michele "Mickey" Stamm; and two brothers, David and Paul Carnot.

    A funeral service for Alice will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at Borchardt and Moder Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St., Hortonville, with Rev. Joel Jenswold officiating. Family will receive relatives and friends directly at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Hortonville.

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Colony Oaks for their compassion and care of Alice.
