    Heuvelmans, John


    John Heuvelmans, 51, a lifelong Green Bay resident, died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, after a short illness. He was born March 11, 1958, to Delbert and Rita (O'Donnell) Heuvelmans. John graduated with the Class of 1976 from Green Bay West High School where he was an all-conference football player and attended UW-Stevens Point. On Sept. 23, 1989, he married Alison Yates at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. They were blessed with two children, Erik and Sarah, both of whom he was proud of and dearly loved. The family enjoyed times up north at Popp's Resort.

    John was President of the Westside Wolverine Youth Football Program. He enjoyed coaching and mentoring young men. Always an animal lover, John was especially fond of his dog, Duke.

    John was a loving husband to his wife, Alison; and a devoted father to Erik and Sarah. Other survivors include his brother, Harold Heuvelmans; three sisters and their spouses, Judy and Dennis Tilly, Jane and Alan Nero, Barb Schulze; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Lois Yates; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mike and Joan Yates, Terri and Greg Garfield, Cathy and Mike Kirschling, Sandy Yates; nieces and nephews, Jodi (Jevon) Jaconi, Amanda (fiance, Andy VanDeYacht) Nero, Krista Heuvelmans, Ed Converse, Joe Garfield, Randy Garfield, Michael Welhouse, Garrett Welhouse, Austin Welhouse, Reed Kirschling, Leah (Ben) Roscoe, Andrea Kirschling, Kendall Yates, Leah Yates; uncles, aunts, other relatives and many good friends.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Rita Heuvelmans; a brother, Dan Heuvelmans; two brothers-in-law, Bill Yates and Randy Welhouse.

    Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday. There will be a Parish Wake Service and Sharing of Memories at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Annunciation Catholic Church, 401 Gray St. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev. Don Everts officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.

    A memorial fund has been established.

    The Heuvelmans family extends a special thank you to Dr. J. Mitchell Winkler, Dr. Manar Alshahrouri and the 4th floor ICU staff at St. Vincent Hospital, especially the nurses.

  • Note: Dennis J. Tilly, 64, Green Bay, died Wednesday, June 29, 2016. He was born on May 30, 1952, in Green Bay to Alvin and Alfreda (Lewis) Tilly.

    Dennis graduated from Bay Port High School, Class of 1970. Upon graduation, he started his truck driving career with Drzewiecki Trucking. Dennis then worked for Peot Trucking and later McAllister Trucking, retiring in 2015. Dennis loved being a truck driver. On October 12, 1974, he married Judy Heuvelmans at St. John the Baptist Church in Howard. Dennis also loved lunching and playing cards every Thursday with the Tillys. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan.

    Dennis is survived by his wife, Judy; his siblings, Marlene Smith, Carol (and her special friend, Jerry Roeser) Andersen, Jerry Tilly, and Kathy Woldt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harold Heuvelmans, Jane (Alan) Nero, Barbara Schulze, Alison Heuvelmans; and numerous special nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and extended family.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Del and Rita Heuvelmans; infant sister, Janice Tilly; and two brothers-in-law, John and Dan Heuvelmans.

    Friends may call at Fort Howard Memorial Park, 1350 N. Military Ave, from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 5. The Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Fort Howard Memorial Park with Rev. Bill, Deacon Nick, Deacon Manny, Sr. Gretchen, Sr. Kathy, Sr. Celine, all her coworkers and parishioners at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for their support and everything they have done over the years.
