    residence of her daughter, Mrs. Edwin Steiner, 1251 Baker street,
    where she had been making her home since the death of her husband in
    1938. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. William Reding will conduct the service and
    burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Due to Holy Week the requiem high
    mass will be said next Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock. Mrs. Bankenbusch
    was born in Mellinghoefer, Germany, on March 22, 1866, the daughter of
    Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius VandenHeuvel. Her marriage to John Bankenbusch
    took place in Germany on January 27, 1883, and on April 24, 1893, they
    arrived in the United States. Ten years ago they moved to the city
    from the town of Carson, Portage county, where they had resided since
    1898. Nine of the thirteen children survive namely, Henry of St.
    Paul, John, Joe and Mrs. Ray Coultheart, all of Racine, Martin of
    Milladore, George of Wautoma, Mrs. Edwin Steiner and Edward of this
    city and William of Green Bay. The body will remain at the Krohn and
    Berard funeral home where prayers will be said tonight at 6:45.

  • Note: Mr. and Mrs. John Bankenbusch of the town of Grand Rapids, celebrated
    the golden anniversary of their wedding Friday, January 27. A wedding
    dinner was served at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Edward Steiner,
    Saturday, at which covers were laid for twenty-eight relatives. At the
    main table the guests of honor were surrounded by their nine children.
    The home was attractive in colors of gold and white and the table
    centerpiece was a huge wedding cake trimmed in the same colors.
    Musical entertainment for the following social hours was furnished by
    George and William Bankenbusch.
    Mr. and Mrs. Bankenbusch were married in Germany, January 27, 1883 and
    came to this country ten years later. For some time they lived in
    Illinois and then came to Freedom, Wis. They moved to Rudolph in 1899
    where they made their home until two years ago when they moved to this
    city. The following relatives were present: Mr. and Mrs. Henry
    Bankenbusch of St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jacoby, George and John and
    Joe Bankenbusch of Racine; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Bankenbusch of
    Milladore; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Steiner; John Jacoby of Sherry; Mr. and
    Mrs. Ed Bankenbusch, William Bankenbusch and children, Mr. and Mrs.
    George VandenHeuvel, Mrs. Mathilda Fransen, all of this city
    On .Friday Mr. and Mrs. Bankenbusch attended mass at SS. Peter and
    Paul Catholic church and marched down the aisle to the wedding march
    played on the organ in commemoration of the occasion.

    died at his home on Route 3, Wisconsin Rapids, at 10:45 a.m. today
    after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday at
    9 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr.
    William Reding officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Born
    in Germany on September 27, 1861, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
    Bankenbusch, he came to the United States on April 24, 1893, and lived
    in the town of Carson, Portage county, from 1898 until eight years ago
    when he moved to Wisconsin Rapids. On January 27, 1883, he married
    Bernadine Vanden Heuvel, who survives with nine of their 13 children,
    namely, Henry St.Paul, John, Joe and Mrs. Ray Coultheart of Racine,
    Martin of Milladore, George of Wautoma, Mrs. Ed Steiner and Edward of
    Wisconsin Rapids and William of Green Bay. There are 26 grandchildren
    and six great-grandchildren. Prayers will be said at the Krohn and
    Berard chapel on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and friends may pay their
    respects there until time for services.

    Wednesday following a lingering illness of one year. Funeral services
    will be held Saturday, August 20, at 9:30 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul
    Catholic church with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. William Reding officiating.
    Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Six nephews will act as
    pallbearers. Born in Mellinghofer, Germany, on January 16, 1873, the
    son of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Van den Heuvel, he came to the United
    States on April 24, 1893. After a year in Chicago and three years in
    Freedom, Wis., he moved on a farm in the town of Carson, Portage
    county, coming to this city in 1918. Surviving are his wife, the
    former Mary Virginia Lamers, whom he married at Rudolph on May 7,
    1901, one brother in Germany and one sister, Mrs. John Bankenbush of
    the town of Grand Rapids, also a number of nieces and nephews.
    Prayers will be said at the Krohn and Berard chapel at 7:30 p.m.
    Friday by the Mater Dolorosa Sodality, and the body will remain there
    until time for services.

    morning at 9 o?clock at the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with
    the Rt. Rev. Msgr. William Reding officiating. Temporary interment
    will be in the Krohn and Berard receiving vault.
    Born in West Salem, Germany, on December 25, 1858, the
    daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Vanden Heuvel, Mrs. Fransen came to
    this country in 1894. She was married to John Fransen at Rudolph on
    January 9, 1901, and he preceded her in death in 1913. She leaves
    besides her brother, George, with whom she made her home for the past
    nine years, one sister, Mrs. John Bankenbush of the town of Grand
    Rapids, a brother John, in Germany, three nieces and six nephews, two
    of whom are priests in Germany.
    Funeral arrangements are in charge of Krohn and Berard and the
    body will remain at the chapel, where the Mater Dolorosa Sodality will
    gather at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday to offer prayer.
