    Surviving Marian are her husband, Larry of 56 years; son, Jeffrey (Michelle) Caelwaerts, Sheboygan; daughters, Lisa (Jim) Freund, Marshfield; Angela (Chad) Thompson, Sheboygan; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

  • Note: David L. Rosenthal, age 67, of Manawa, passed away at his residence on Monday, September 3, 2012. He was born on June 18, 1945, in Appleton, son of George Rosenthal. On November 13, 1987, he was united in marriage to Janice Murphy. Dave owned and operated D.R. Towing in Manawa and he also owned and operated Bear Lake Resort, better known as "Dave's" Bear Lake when he owned it.

    He is survived by his wife Jan; 2 daughters: Terry Rosenthal and Sherry (Del) Spearman, both of Florida; also two step-children: Gena Pamperin (Curt Sampson), Manawa; Jodi (John) Kenny, Neenah; 3 grandchildren: Chase Spearman, Nicole Pamperin and Grace Kenny; a brother: Tom (Gail) Rosenthal; 2 sisters: Linda Schnitzer, Sue (Bill) Marcks. He is further survived by a special nephew Jake, other nieces, and nephews, cousins and many friends.

    A gathering of family and friends to celebrate David's life will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2012, from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at Bear Lake Resort (N4715 State Road 22 and 110) in Manawa.

    A special thanks to Theda Care Hospice and Mike Pamperin for their care and concern of David.

    Dengel, Carl H.


    Carl H. Dengel, 89, Appleton, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 1, 2009 at his home. He was born February 15, 1920, to the late John and Anna (Schmidt) Dengel in Appleton. Carl served in the United States Army during WWII. He married Janette Eastman on September 1, 1941, in Milwaukee. Carl worked at General Electric in the Sales Department for over 30 years. He was a longtime member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and the Catholic Knights. He also enjoyed volunteering for the Salvation Army. He and Janette enjoyed spending time with their family and traveling in their retirement years.

    Carl is survived by his wife, Janette of 68 years; daughters: Mary Kay (Greg) Choudoir, Appleton; Kathy Koepke, Appleton; a son, Michael (Lori) Dengel, Appleton; grandchildren: Kris (Chris) Treml, Kim (Brian) Mahlendorf, Michael Dengel, Amy (Alex) Parker, Nathan Dengel, Alysa and Adam Koepke and Max Robak, Christopher (Amanda) Choudoir and Patrick (Erin) Choudoir; nine great-grandchildren, brothers: Robert (Jane) Dengel, Appleton; Norman Dengel, Tucson, AZ; two brothers-in-law: Robert (Isabelle) Eastman and William (Bonnie) Eastman; sisters-in-law: Karen Eastman, Leola Eastman, Carol Eastman. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

    Carl was preceded in death by his parents; a son Jack; sisters: Sister Mary Cedella "Marie," Cedella Kraft, Marguerite (John) Van Ryzin, Betty (Edward) Jenjak, Helen (Lennard) Macrorie; brothers: John (Estelle) and Edward; brothers-in-law: Wayne, Vernon, Jerome " Bud" and Allan Eastman.

    Funeral services for Carl will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Appleton with Rev. Gerald Falk officiating. Entombment will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may visit at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass on Wednesday.
