    Age 68, passed away Wednesday evening after a brief illness. He was born March 20, 1901 in the Town of Harrison and was a resident of this area all of his life. He had been employed with the American Can Company for 36 years, retiring in 1966. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club of American Can, Menasha Eagles, Holy Name Society of St. Mary Catholic church, Menasha, and the Appleton and Neenah-Menasha Musicians Local. Survivors are his wife, Florence; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Carolyn) Garfield, Mrs. Ted (Barbara) McArty, both of Neenah; one son, Vilas, Menasha; three brothers, Walter Rt. 1, Menasha, Reuben, Rt. 4, Appleton, Ralph, Menasha; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph (loretta) Noe, Rt. 1, Menasha; Mrs. Willard (Aurelia) Grode, mackville; 14 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9 a.m. from the Laemmrich Funeral HOme and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Mary Catholic Church, Menasha. Interment in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the laemmrich Funeral Home, friday from 4 to 9 p.m. The prayer service will be at 8 p.m. Friday . . .

    Survivors are his pareents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Noe; a sister, Dolores; and his grandmother, Mrs. Barbara Schmal, all of route 1, Menasha.
    Funeral services will be at 9:30 Wednesday morning at ST. Mary church in Menasha and the cortege will form at the Laemmrich Funeral home there at 9 o'clock. The Re . Joseph A. Becker will have charge of the service and burial will be in St. Mary cemetery. Friends may call after 7 o'clock this evening and the rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Tuesday night.

She was born March 4, 1869 in Germany and was a resident of the United States for 51 years. She lived in Kaukauna first and was a resident of Menasha for 37 years.
    Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Arthur Boldt, Appleton; Mrs. Ralph Schmalz, Neenah ;and Mrs. Izabelle Zurfluh, Nekoosa; four sons, Walter and Andrew, Neenah; and Edward and George, Menasha; one sister in Germany; 31 grandchildren and one great-grandchild,
    Services will be held at 10 o'clock Thursday morning at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. John Hummel will conduct the service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The body may be viewed after this evening at the Laemmrich Funeral Home. The funeral cortege will form at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

    Braun, Marylin Dolores "Lynn"


    Marylin Dolores "Lynn" Braun passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2009, God chose to take Lynn to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on February 3, 1937; daughter of the late Ralph and Marie (Heinz) Schmalz. She grew up in the Neenah-Menasha area and graduated from St. Mary High School in 1955. Lynn was united in marriage to the love of her life, Clancy Braun, on October 18, 1958, and had been married for 51 years. She had been a member of St. Mary's Parish, Menasha, and presently was a member of St. Bernard's Parish, Appleton.

    Lynn loved Monte Alverno Retreat Center, Appleton, and was mentored by Rev. Bill Alcuin. She was a member of the Monte Alverno Guild, a member of Cusa group 29, Neenah-Menasha Fox Valley Connection, Precept Ministries, Focalore Movement, Past Officer of The Nicolet Ladies and currently their Sunshine Chairwoman. Lynn loved to study the Word of God and was a Friendship Bible guide. She guided Bible studies in her home for over 20 years. Lynn loved her husband dearly; her children meant so much to her and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her joys.

    Survivors include her husband, Clancy, Menasha; daughter and "son-in-love", Brenda and David Edge, Bonduel; sons and "daughters-in-love": Brian and Holli, South Elgin, IL, Bradley and Jenny, Ortonville, Mich., Brent and Mary Kay, Neenah; grandchildren: Sarah and Adam, MI, Joellen and Joshua, Neenah, Kristin (Dan) Metoxen, Green Bay, Trenton (Nicole) Edge, Green Bay, and Evan (Julie) Veldt, Black Creek; great-grandchildren: Jacob and MaKenzie Metoxen and Quinten and Allison Edge. She is also survived by her brother Darwin (Joan) Schmalz, Freedom; sister-in-law Rosemary Ulman, St. Petersburg, FL; brother-in-law Farrell (Theresa) Braun, Williamsburg, VA; Godchildren: Cheri Lynn Sprangers, Joanne McNeil, and Sharon Hildebrant; along with many beautiful and loved nieces and nephews, as well as many special friends. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gene, in-laws John and Esther Braun and brother-in-law Larry Ulman.

    The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine Street, Appleton, with Revs. John Bergstadt and Dennis Ryan officiating. Family and friends may call at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home on Monday evening from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and again on Tuesday morning at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. There will be a Parish Vigil Service on Monday evening, 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Menasha.

Jesus' life, death and resurrection have given my eternal life meaning and make my death a peaceful passage to eternal life in heaven.
