  • Note: Josephine A. Haack, 99, Oshkosh, died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center. She was born in the Town of Wolf River, daughter of Theodore and Bertha Tellock Dorschner. On Jan. 20, 1934, she married Joseph Haack in Waukegan, Ill. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1997.

    Josephine was a member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ. She had been employed by the Deltox Rug Company.

    She is survived by brother, Raymond (Donna) Dorschner, Menasha, Wis.; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

    She was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Clarence (Enid), Lawrence (Janet), William (Lila), Albert (Jean) and Theodore Dorschner.

    Funeral services for Josephine will be on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. at the Bethel Home Chapel with Chaplain Jennifer Fuentes officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the Chapel at Bethel Home on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral.

    A memorial to the Bethel Home Foundation has been established.

    Mrs. William C. Herrmann, 66, of 1413 S. 10th St. Manitowoc, died Saturday at home.
    Funeral services will be at 10:30 a. m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 11 a. m. at. St. Boniface
    Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Very Rev. Msgr. Alfred Schneider will officiate and burial will be in Calvary, Cemetery, Manitowoc.
    Mrs. Herrmann nee Marian E. Finley was born Oct 22, 1904, at Chicago, daughter of the late Andrew and Lida Finley, She graduated from St. Joseph Academy, Green Bay, and Holy Family School of Nursing, Manitowoc, in the class of 1926. She married William C. Herrmann June 12, 1928, at Manitowoc. Mrs. Herrmann was a member of the Catholic Womens Club, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, the Elks Auxiliary and an honorary life member of the Nurses Alumni of Holy Family Hospital. She was also a member of the Christian Mothers Altar Society of St. Boniface Church.
    Survivors include her husband, two sons, William R. of Two Rivers and Andrew F. of Manitowoc, a daughter, Mrs. Al (Mary) Dennis or Berwyn, Ill., and eight grandchildren.
    Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p. m., Tuesday where a Wake Memorial service will be held at 7:30 by the Catholic Women's Club, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, the Christian Mothers Altar Society, members of the parish and friends.

    William Charles Herrmann; Ill, 76, who resided at Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc, formerly of 1413 S. 10th St. Manitowoc, died Sunday at Holy Family Hospital Manitowoc.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 11:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev John Hephner will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
    Mr. Herrmann was born June 30, 1897, at Manitowoc, son of the late William and Theresa Friedl Herrmann. He was graduated from the old Manitowoc High School with the Class of 1917. He married Marion C. Finley June 12, 1928, at the Holy Family Hospital Chapel, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death July 10, 1971.
    Mr. Herrmann was the former Manitowoc City Treasurer for 43 years, retiring in 1962. He was a 50-year member of the Elks Lodge of Manitowoc and past secretary for 34 years. He was a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus and presently was a Fourth Degree member. He also was a 50-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 706, a life member of the Frier Saengerbund and a charter member of the Easter Seal Society and the National Foundation and past treasurer of both organizations.
    Survivors include two sons. William R., of Two Rivers and Andrew F. of Manitowoc, a daughter Mrs. Al (Mary Jane) Dennis, of Berwyn, Ill. and eight grandchildren.
    Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, where a memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. by the Knights of Columbus and friends.

    William R. Herrmann, 58, of 1102 Waldo Blyd, Manitowoc, died Monday morning, April 23, 1987, at Veterans Hospital, Wood, Wisconsin.
    Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Gerald Prusakowaki, O. F. M. and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Graveside rites will be accorded Mr. Herrmann by V. F. W. Otto Oas Post.
    Mr. Herrmann was born April 5, 1929, at Manitowoc, son of the late William C. and Marion Finley Herrmann. He resided in Manitowoc all of his life. He attended St. Boniface School and graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1947. He married the former Giovanna Serio on March 10, 1951 at Camp Polk, Louisiana. Mr. Herrmann was a Ship Fitter at Manitowoc Company. He was a member of the V. F. W. Otto Oas Post; 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus; Shoto Conversation Club; Mr. Herrmann served with the United States Army in the Korean Conflict.
    Survivors include his wife, Giovanna; three sons and two daughters-in-law, William C. and Ann Herrmann of Manitowoc, Theodore A. and Susan Herrmann of Two Rivers and Thomas F. Herrmann of Manitowoc; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathryn and Terry Casavant of Two Rivers, Margaret Cogswell of Manitowoc and Susan and James McKeenan of Manitowoc; a brother and sister-in-law Andrew and Mary Herrmann of Manitowoc, a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jane and Al Dennis of Attica, Michigan; his mother-in-law, Ann Serio of Manitowoc; six grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    Mary Dennis, age 76, of Attica, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011, at Lapeer Regional Medical Center.
    Mary Jane Herrmann was born on January 13, 1935 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of William and Marion Herrmann. Mary Jane was a high school graduate of Lincoln high School Class of 1953, in Manitowoc, WI.
    She moved to Chicago to attend Barat College. Mary Jane was trained and graduated from St. Luke's Hospital as a radiology technician in 1957.
    Mary Jane married Adelbert (Al) Dennis on May 28, 1960 at Boniface Church in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. They resided in Berwyn, Illinois and were active members of the St. Francis of Rome parish where they made and retained many life-long friends.
    She and her family have been residents of Attica, Michigan since 1978.
    Mary Jane is survived by her daughter, Ann Marie (Dennis) Schmidt of Attica, son, Curtis (Karen) Dennis of Plymouth, MI; grandchildren: Katherine Schmidt of Attica and Sara Schmidt of Greenwood, IN; great-grandchild: Robert Franklin (Frankie) of Attica; brothers and sisters-in-law: Russell Dennis of Imlay City, Ula Dennis of Imlay City, Pearl Belle Trager of Sterling Hts., Sandy Haumer and Dick Smolk of Zephyrhills, FL, Art and Carol Dennis of Arlington, TX, Roger and Edie Dennis of Zephyrhills, FL, and George Dennis of Columbiaville and many nieces and nephews.
    She is preceded in death by her husband: Adelbert Dennis; parents: Charles and Marion Herrmann; brothers and sister-in-law: Andrew and Mary Herrmann, Douglas and Marion Allison, Cleo (Dennis) DeGraw, Jack Dennis and Robert Trager.
    A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Imlay City. Father Paul Ward will officiate. Burial of ashes will follow service.

    He was born March 11, 1932, in Attica to Dona Ruth (Russell) and Howard Dennis. He grew up in the Attica-Imlay City area. He met and married Mary Jane Herrmann while living in Chicago. They were married for 44 years.
    He entered the Army at the age of 16 and took basic training and advanced individual training in tanks at Fort Knox, Ky. Afterward, he was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas and later served with distinction during the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery under fire. After his discharge, he moved to Chicago where he worked for Montorola Electronics and the Zenith Corp., specializing in the design of printed circuit boards for use in radio and television. He lived in the Chicago area for about 25 years.
    He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Dennis of Attica; children, Ann Marie Schmidt (Steven Lyles) of Attica and Curtis (Karen) Dennis of Plymouth; granddaughters, Katherine Schmidt of Imlay City and Sara Schmidt of Plymouth; siblings, Russell Dennis of Lewiston, Jack (Ula) Dennis, Arthur (Carol) Dennis of Arlington, Texas, Roger (Edith) Dennis of Weedsport, N.Y., George (Mary Beth) Dennis of Columbiaville, Marion Allison of Metamora, Cleo DeGraw of Capac, Pearl Treager of Oak Park and Sandra Hauner of Marysville; also, three generations of nieces and nephews.
    Memorial services were Thursday (Jan. 29) with a Veterans of Foreign Wars-American Legion military salute at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City.
