    Mrs. C. H. Roepcke, mother of Mrs. Peter Hansen, Chris and Henry Roepcke of this city died Monday at her home in Seymour. The lady was nearly seventy years of age and was one of the oldest residents of Outagamie County. She had been in a serious condition for several months and the family knew that she could not recover. The funeral was held yesterday at Seymour. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Roepcke and children and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Roepcke were in attendance.

    One of Rhinelander’s oldest and most well known pioneers, Henry Frederick Roepcke, 73, died Sunday morning in his home, 823 Mason St. He had been in ill health for several years. Death was caused by a heart ailment.
    Mr. Roepcke was well known in Rhinelander, having worked for the lumbering industries here for many years. He was also a former Alderman.
    He was born in Germany on December 16, 1867. He came to the United States with his parents when he only six weeks old. His parents settled in Outagamie County where he lived until 1891 and then came to Rhinelander. On August 31, 1833 he was married to Bertha Marie Jeske in Cicero, WI.
    The deceased was employed by the Queal and Mason-Donaldson Lumber companies for many years as yard superintendent. He was alderman for eight years.
    Mr. Roepcke was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church.
    He is survived by two brothers, Christ and William, both of Rhinelander, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Gother of Cicero, WI. And Mrs. Lena Newman of Milwaukee. His wife preceded him in death January 27, 1941.
    Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the home and 2:30 o’clock in Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Paul J. Gieschen officiated. Burial was made in Forest Home Cemetery.

    Mrs. Henry M. Roepcke,71 the former Marie Elizabeth Jeske died at 5:30 o’clock
    this morning in her home, 823 Mason St. after an illness of six weeks.
    Mrs. Roepcke was born Feb. 19, 1869, in Germany, and came to this country when
    she was 6 years old. She was married Aug 31, 1893 in the town of Cicero, Outagamie
    County to HENRY ROEPCKE.
    The couple came to Rhinelander Sept. 4, 1893 and resided in this city since that time.
    Mrs. Roepcke was active in the affairs of the Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church, and she
    was an honorary member and one of the oldest
    members of the Ladies’ Aid Society of the church.
    Surviving are her husband; two brothers, William Jeske of Black Creek, and Fred Jeske,
    Antigo; and four sisters, Mrs. Julius Bubolz Appleton, Mrs. C.G. Ballhorn Bear Creek,
    Mrs. William Roepcke and Mrs. A.D. Mangerson, both of Rhinelander.
    Funeral services for Mrs. Roepcke are to be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the
    home and at 2:30 o’clock in the Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul J. Gieschen
    officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Home Cemetery.
    Norman Danner is in charge of the memorial wreath.

    Mrs. Bertha Jeske Roepcke, a resident of Rhinelander since 1919, died at 6:30 o’clock yesterday morning in her home 823 Thayer St. after having been ill since last April. She was 64 years old.
    Born in Cicero, Wisc. on Aug 15, 1879 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Jeske. She was married to William Roepcke in that town in 1901. They lived in Seymour for 18 years and came to Rhinelander in 1919. Mrs. Roepcke was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church here.
    Surviving are her husband: three daughters, Mrs. Walter Bohnsdahl and Mrs. Dexter Briggs, Rhinelander and Miss Fern Roepcke, Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Bahlhorn, Bear Creek and Mrs. Helen Mangerson, Milwaukee; two brothers. Fred Jeske, Antigo and William Jeske, Cicero; and two grandchildren, Donna Roe and Bruce Robert Bohnsdahl.
    Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Roepcke residence and at 2:30 p.m. in the Zion
    Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul J. Gieschen, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Forest Home
    Cemetery.
