    Glatz, Lloyd E.


    Lloyd E. Glatz, age 79, of Freedom, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009, at home with his family by his side. He was born March 28, 1930, in Shiocton to the late Edwin and Anna (Young) Glatz. Following his graduation from Shiocton High School in 1949 he entered the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On May 28, 1952, he married his high school sweetheart Rosie Young and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage.

    Lloyd worked at the Kimberly Paper Mill for 43 years before retiring in 1993. He also farmed in Nichols for 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing sheepshead, attending his grandchildren's sporting events but most of all he loved time spent with his family, grandchildren and friends. Lloyd was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom.

    He is survived by his wife, Rosie, their five children: Sue (Dan) Moericke, De Pere; Barb (Jack) Van Eperen, Freedom; Randy (Karen) Glatz, Black Creek; Kathy (Joel) Swedberg, Appleton; Wayne (Sharon) Glatz, Freedom; ten grandchildren: Bobby Jo Lade, Rick Moericke, Stacy Gowey, Nick Glatz, Sarah Wanta, Thomas Glatz, Amanda Swedberg, Travis Swedberg, Kevin Glatz and Amber Glatz; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Roland Glatz, Shiocton; sisters-in-law: Mildred Stingle, Bernice (Ronnie) Young, Marcy (Jim) Freimuth, Audrey Glatz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by a son Tom Glatz, two brothers: Merlin and Melvin, father-in-law and mother-in-law Theodore and Anna Marie Young, brothers-in-law James Young and Dennis Stingle, sister-in-law Carol Young.

    Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, Tuesday, September 1, 2009, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at noon with Father Dave Hoffman officiating.   • Note: Roland F. Glatz, age 80, died on Friday, May 6, 2011, at his residence. Rollie was born on April 12, 1931, in Shiocton, son of the late Edward and Anna (Young) Glatz. He graduated from Shiocton High School and was a member of the Golden Gloves. Rollie farmed in Navarino and also worked at Appleton Coated Papers and Miller Electric. Upon his retirement he owned and operated Rock N Sugars in Neenah and VFW in Menasha. He enjoyed trips to Canada to moose hunt, fishing and sturgeon spearing.

    Rollie is survived by his children: Chris (Razz) Dewey, LaRae Colwitz; Roland (Alice) Glatz; Richard Glatz; Michael (Julie) Glatz; Pam Diemel; Diane (Dan) Collier; and Catherine (Tony) Vertino. Grandchildren: Ted (Tracy) Druckrey; Stephanie (Scott) Tomashek; Amy Druckrey (fiance, Jason Raddant); Elizabeth Hill; Jesse (Lonnie) Glatz; Megan Glatz; Nash Guyette; Jennah Guyette; Jamie Glatz; Jennifer Glatz; Nick (Lisa) Diemel; Eric, Brandon and Justin Diemel; Christian Langenfeld; William, Kaitlin, and Danee Collier; Joseph and Emily Vertino; step-grandchildren, Ashley and Rachel and Eleven great-grandchildren. He is further survived by sisters-in-law, Roseanne and Audrey Glatz and also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Merlin, Melvin and Lloyd Glatz and a son-in-law, Jerry Colwitz.

    Funeral services for Roland will be held on Monday May 9, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home, Shiocton, with Sister Pauline Feiner officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the South Cicero Cemetery.

    Melvin Jerry Glatz, Fremont, passed peacefully to eternal life on December 10, 2007. Born on May 25, 1934, he is the son of the late Ed and Anna (Young) Glatz of Shiocton, WI. He married Audrey (Deimer) Glatz on May 12, 1956, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville, WI.

    Mel is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Audrey (Deimer) Glatz, three daughters: Bonnie Houlihan (Mike) of Cedarburg, WI Debra Cleare (Scott) of Prosper, TX and Jean Hornes (Blaine) of Neenah, WI, and seven grandchildren: Erin and Blaine Hornes Meghan, Joseph, and Kelly Houlihan and Reilly and Cayla Cleare. Additionally, he is survived by his brothers Lloyd (Roseanne) Glatz of Freedom, WI, and Roland Glatz of Shiocton, WI, sister-in-law Karen Gauthier, and brother-in-law Gary Deimer (Beverly).

    After attending Shiocton High School, Mel had several careers. He worked at Kimberly-Clark's Lakeview mill for seventeen years. Leaving K-C in 1971, Mel became the proud owner of a "Big Mack" dump truck which he used to haul gravel until 1974. In 1975, Mel purchased the Butterfly Bar in Neenah which he operated for twenty-two years. In 1996, he permanently retired to his favorite home on the Wolf River in Fremont where he could fish, view bald eagles and watch boats racing on the river. In addition to working hard, Mel enjoyed captaining his pontoon boat, was an avid Packer fan, and loved following the athletic and academic pursuits of his grandchildren. He also loved to hunt, fish, play cards and exaggerate stories about all three. Always retaining a quick sense of humor, he was never at loss for a witty line or teasing remark. Mel was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family, and the many great friends with whom he was acquainted in life.

    He was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Anna Glatz, Joseph and Marie Deimer, brother Merlin Glatz, and nephews Tom Glatz and Gregg Deimer.

    A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2007, at 11:00 a.m, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Neenah with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating. Visitation will be on Friday at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m and again on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Greenville. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Theda Clark Medical Center, especially the ICU, ER, 5th and 2nd floor nurses for their kindness and wonderful care of Mel.
