Marion and the late Wilbert “Bill” Van Rens married on June 16, 1945, at St. Mary Catholic Church in De Pere, and he preceded her in death on February 10, 1996. The couple were diary farmers until their retirement. In her retirement, Marion enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and spending time with her family.
    Survivors include her five daughters, Donna Van Rens, De Pere; Gail and Richard Schommer, De Pere, and their children, Jessica and Stacy; Barbara and Ken Ferron, Mequon, and their children, Brad and Karri; Cynthia and Carl Thiem, De Pere, and their children, Ashley and Alex; Valerie Jerabek, Green Bay, and her son, Jason; two sons, William “Bill” and Carol Van Rens, De Pere, and their children, Bill Jr., Bryan, and Bob; Jeffrey Van Rens and Colleen Johnson, Green Bay, and his children, Joe, Jennifer, Jil, Andy, and Becky; a brother, John and Mary Dollar; 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
    Family and friends may call Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Community, Pope John XXIII Circle, off Sportsman Dr., Town of Ledgeview.     Early Saturday morning, November 5, 2016, John R. "Jack" Dollar was called home into the loving arms of Jesus.

    The son of John and Lydia (Matzke) Dollar was born in De Pere.

    John graduated from De Pere High School, where he played baseball and football. He was proud to say he played for Dad Brasier, and was offered a chance to play baseball professionally.

    John served his country in the Korean War, and to this day remains close friends with several of his comrades.

    Upon his honorable discharge, John went on to study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he graduated with degrees in business and banking.

    Business was a passion of John's, and he had many business adventures over the years. He was dedicated to his church and community, and he was generous with local charities.

    John enjoyed traveling, sports, playing cards with the Manders and Dollar families, gardening and his vineyard.

    Above all, John loved Jesus, his family and spending time with friends.

    He is survived by his wife, Mary; Troy (Paula) Verheyen, Kevin (Tammy) Verheyen; grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

    John was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, in-laws and other family members.

    Family and friends may call at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, 140 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, beginning at 8:30 AM on Thursday, November 10, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM, with Father Joseph Dorner officiating. Burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

  • Note: Robert E. (Bob) Dunks, age 68, passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 28, 2014 at his home from a heart condition. The son of Earl and Dorothy (Smits) Dunks was born June 17, 1946 in Seymour. He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 18 in 1964, and after 3 years of active duty, he served in the reserves until 1989. He married Susan Dollar on September 12, 1970 at St. Mary Catholic Church in De Pere. Bob became a firefighter in 1972 and retired in 1999 from the Allouez Fire Department.

    Survivors include his children: Cheri Van Erden of Greenfield, Jeffrey Dunks of Green Bay and Lori (Richard) Edmundson of River Falls; grandchildren: Abigail and Owen Edmundson; his mother, Dorothy Greasby; brothers and sisters: Jim (Bonnie) Dunks, Rich (Jeannette) Dunks, Mike (Mary Jo) Dunks, Judy Christensen, Diane Dunks, Karen (Dave) Kerber, Joanne (Bob) Roy; an uncle, Roger (Sharon) Dunks; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: James (Pam) Dollar, Carol (Larry) Theys, Mary (Bob) Ver Haagh, Fran (Dave) Brunner; uncle-in-law, Jack (Mary) Dollar; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

    He was preceded in death by: his wife, Susan; his father, Earl Dunks; and a brother, David Dunks; step-father, Bill Greasby.

    Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave, De Pere, on Tuesday, December 2, from 4-8pm.
