  • Note: June Mary Margaret Sommerfeld, age 87, of De Pere, passed away Wednesday, August 06, 2014 after many years with Alzheimer's. On May 9, 1927, she was born to Willard and Helene (Van Straten) Johnson. She married Robert (Bob) Sommerfeld on June 14, 1947.

    While a member of St. Willebrord Parish, she was very active in church and school functions. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the cottage in Mountain, where she went ATVing, snowmobiling, climbing the "big rock" and going for long walks. She also enjoyed going to bible class and lunch with her two best friends, Betty and Pat.

    She is survived by her children: Terri (Dennis) Campbell, Deb (Dan) Hoppe, Lance (Cathy) Sommerfeld and Kevin Sommerfeld; grandchildren: Dean (Karen) Campbell and their children Kris and Katie, Dace (Susan) Campbell and their children Arlan, Corban and Declan, Tina Campbell (Fiance Chris Arjona), Tonya (Todd) Young and their children Kierstin, McKenna and Logan, Shane (Robin) Hoppe and their children Blake and Autumn, Chase (Kara) Sommerfeld and their child Tucker, Beth Sommerfeld, Todd Sommerfeld and Laura Sommerfeld. Further survived by a sister, Gladys (Clayton) Bildings; sisters-in-law: Rose Johnson and Patricia Johnson, as well as many nieces and nephews.

    In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, daughter-in-law, Margaret Sommerfeld; siblings: Ossie Johnson, Bill Johnson, Arlene (Harlan) Dugre and nieces and nephews.

    Family and friends may visit at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview, on Saturday, August 9, from 9:00am until the hour of Mass at 11:00am. Interment in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.

  • Note: Gladys Mae Bildings, age 82, of Ledgeview, went to eternal rest Wednesday morning, August 13, 2014 after nine years with dementia. In 1932, she was born to the late Willard and Helene (Van Straten) Johnson in De Pere. She was a farm girl at heart. On August 31, 1957 at St. Joseph Church in De Pere, Clayton received a priceless gift in his marriage to Gladys. Having owned their own farm, Clayton and her farmed their whole lives. She was an avid gardener, a great cook, loved her horses and the outdoors, especially visiting the cabin up north. She enjoyed going shopping and out to lunch with her sisters, Arlene and June. Gladys loved her family, and particularly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a long-time member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ledgeview.

    Survivors include her husband, Clayton; children: Juanita (Clyde) Tetzlaff, Blaise Bildings, Chad (Michelle) Bildings; grandchildren: Brittney (John) Patz, Brock and Kirk Tetzlaff, Austin and Paige Bildings, Brandon Bildings; brothers and sisters-in-law: Rosie Johnson, Pat Johnson, John (Idabell) Bildings, Camilla (Clifford) Holl and Rose Mary Warpinski; nieces, nephews and friends.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Scott; daughter-in-law, Jill Bildings; granddaughter, Jordan Bildings; brothers and sisters: Ossie Johnson, June Sommerfeld, Bill Johnson, Arlene Dugre; mother and father-in-law: William and Frances Bildings, brothers-in-law: Robert Sommerfeld, Harlan Dugre, Richard Warpinski; nieces and nephews.

    Family and friends may visit at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview, on Sunday, August 17, from 4:00pm-6:00pm and again on Monday, August 18, from 9:00am-10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Monday, with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating and the Rev. Judah Pigon, MF concelebrating. Interment in Mt.   • Note: Gary died unexpectedly at his home on Monday morning, April 4, 2011. Gary was born in Kaukauna on February 22, 1952, son of the late Peter and Irene (Busse) Effa. He was a graduate of the Kaukauna High School, and was formerly employed as a lock tender for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Kaukauna. Gary was an avid sports fan, loved both baseball and football, but refused to cheer for any team unless they were from Pittsburgh.

    Gary is survived by two brothers: Robert (Beth Ison) Effa of Sacramento and Gerald (Fran) Effa of Kaukauna; a niece: Natalie (Chris) Bessette of San Francisco and her family; three nephews: Robbie (Shannon) Effa of Redding, California and his family; Roy (Wanda) Marceille of Sobieski and his family; and Rod (Tiffani) Marceille of Oneida and his family; a cousin: Kay Busse of Appleton; a former sister-in-law: Pam Effa; a good friend: David Bruehl; and a special friend: Pat Carbine.

    The Christian Funeral for Gary will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011, at TRINITY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 804 Grignon Street in Kaukauna with Rev. Karl Schultz officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
