Biography

  • Birth: Diane Marie Thiel was born on October 28, 1950 in Appleton, Outagamie Co, Wisconsin.
  • Marriage: She was married on April 29, 1977 in St John Church, St John, Calumet Co, Wisconsin.
  • Death: She died on April 18, 2017, at age 66, in Appleton, Outagamie Co, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Diane Marie Zahringer, age 66, of Hilbert, died April 18, 2017, at Thedacare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. She was born October 28, 1950, in Appleton, daughter of the late Norbert and Evelyn (Groeschl) Thiel. She married James Zahringer on April 29, 1977, at St. John Catholic Church in St. John.

Diane was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge where she was also a part of the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed helping out and she was known to worry more about others than she was of herself. Helping within the church appealed to her outgoing and social personality. Friends and family remember her as easygoing and very kind-hearted.

Although Diane worked in many different fields throughout her life - from a laborer at Aluminum Specialty, to farming with James, to being a caregiver with Calumet County Homecare - none was more important than taking care of her family. She was a loving mother and adored her grandchildren with all of her heart. Diane loved being in her kitchen making sure everyone was well fed, but her specialty was making chicken and dumpling soup for her grandchildren. Aside from cooking, Diane also enjoyed cross-stitch, picking hickory nuts, and sturgeon spearing.

Survivors include her husband: James Zahringer; her children: Nicholas (Ashley) Zahringer, Jody Zahringer, and Lori Weber; her grandchildren: Leah, Chloe, and Taylor Zahringer, and Jaiden and Hunter Weber; her sisters Jeanette (Donald) Liebzeit, and Marlene (Frank) Schneider; and a brother-in-law: Bill Timm; and nieces & nephews.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents; a son: Michael Zahringer; her son-in-law: Darrin Weber; and a sister: Barb Timm.

Funeral services will be at 6:00 pm on Monday, April 24, 2017, at the St. Mary Catholic Church (120 Davis St) in Stockbridge with Father Michael Betley officiating. Friends may call at the church from 1:30 pm until 5:30 pm on Monday, April 24, 2017.

    Callan, Rosalie M.

Rosalie M. Callan, age 88, a life long resident of Appleton, died Monday, April 26, 2010, at Brewster Village. She was born on November 19, 1921, to the late Edward and Martha (Winters) Nussbaum. Rosalie is well known for sitting under "her tree" by the lake talking with the gang. Rosalie worked at Zwickers Knitting Mill prior to marriage. After raising her sons, she worked at Austin Super Market in Appleton for over 15 years, meeting many great customers and co-workers until her retirement. Rosalie was blessed with a wonderful family of cousins, in-laws and grandchildren. She looked forward to luncheons, gatherings and celebrations.
