  • Note: Nan Lee Langan, 76, Green Bay resident, died at home unexpectedly on Monday morning, May 22, 2017. The daughter of John and Winon Aerts, was born on October 10, 1942, in De Pere, WI. Nan Lee was a graduate of West De Pere High School in 1960 and received a diploma from St. Agnes School of Nursing in 1963.

    On Feb. 8, 1964, Nan Lee married the love of her life, Bob Langan, at St. Boniface Church in De Pere. She began her nursing career working in 1969. She worked for St. Mary's Hospital in the ER but mostly in surgery until her retirement after 36 years in nursing in 2005.

    Post retirement, she worked part-time as a Bailiff for the Brown County Court System and volunteered with the American Heart Association for their annual Heart Walk. Among Nan's passions were spending time with her family and friends, cooking and her gourmet club, cocktails, dinners and get-togethers with the Birthday Club and her nursing school friends, relaxing at her cottage in Egg Harbor, sailing the waters of Green Bay, Lake Michigan and the Caribbean, traveling, reading and spoiling her grandchildren.

    Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Kimberly Langan; daughter and son-in-law, Molly and Nick Evgenides; grandson, Dyno Evgenides, and granddaughter, Paige Langan, Green Bay; sister, Cindy Aerts, Bradenton, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Rich and Sally Langan, Green Bay; sister-in-law, Emily Langan, Peekskill, NY; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clark and Meg Steinhardt, Green Bay; nieces and nephews, Mary Langan and her son, Chris Krajca, Ossining, NY; Rick Steinhardt and special friend, Jenny Zuege, Green Bay; Rich, Richie Jr., Nikole and Dylan Langan and special friend, Marianne Morabito, Hopewell Junction, NY; Sara, John, Abigayle, Kailey and Erica Chapman, Eagan, MN; Matthew Langan, Green Bay; close cousins, Chuck and Linda Lawrence, Galesville, MD; and dear friends, Patty Washienko, Sue Caples, Kathy, Erin and Megan Washienko, Ken and Ruby Mathews, Dyno and Irene Evgenides.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Langan; mother and father, Winon and John Aerts; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Roserita and Arthur Johnson; sister, Katie Steinhardt; and dear friends, Mary Kay and Thomas Washienko.

    The family will receive relatives and friends at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay, from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 25. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St., Green Bay, from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 26. The Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating Nan Lee's life and resurrection, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 26 at the church with Rev. Donald Everts officiating.     Langan, Robert John


    The Last Watch for Robert John Langan, 69, a Green Bay, Wis., resident and former resident of Yonkers, N.Y., occurred when he died at home on Thursday morning, Aug. 27, 2009, after an unexpected and rapid encounter with Cruetzfeldt-Jacob Disease. The son of the late Maurice Langan and Roserita (Burns) Johnson, and stepson of Arthur Johnson, was born on July 10, 1940, in Yonkers, N.Y. Bob was a graduate of Charles E. Gorton High School (Yonkers, N.Y.) in 1958; earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Police Science from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in 1974; graduated from the FBI National Academy 101st Session in 1985; and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Urban Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 1991.

    On Feb. 8, 1964, Bob married the love of his life, Nan Lee Aerts, at St. Boniface Church in De Pere, Wis. He began his law enforcement career as a patrolman on the Westchester County Police Force, Irvington, N.Y., in 1963. In January of 1966, he began his service as a patrolman with the Green Bay Police Department, retiring after 29 years of service as the Chief of Police in May of 1995. Bob loved his career serving and protecting the citizens of Green Bay.

    Post retirement, he established his private investigative business, Langan Investigations Inc., providing honest and fair investigations for those in need of help. During this time, he also worked for the National Football League Security Department as the Alternate Security Representative for the Green Bay Packers. Bob loved Green Bay and was active in many community activities including: Alzheimer's Association of Northeast Wisconsin, Family Service Association of Brown County, Brown County Commission on Aging, United Way, American Heart Association, Green Bay Sexual Assault Center, Brown County Family Violence Center, and the Golden House. He was a longtime member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Among Bob's passions were spending time with his family and friends, driving his Mustang, relaxing at his cottage in Egg Harbor, traveling, and sailing the waters of Green Bay, Lake Michigan and the Caribbean.
