    The deceased was a member of the Christian Mothers’ Sodality.

    Mr. Kees was born in the town of Harrison May 3, 1905, a son of John and Margaret (Brantmeier) Kees. On June 19, 1928, he married Olive Mahlberg at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Sherwood.

    He spent his entire life farming in the Sherwood area.

    Survivors are his wife; two sons, Marvin of Neenah and Robert of Anaheim, Calif., eight grandchildren; two sisters, Miss Clara Kees of Antigo and Mrs. Marie Verstegen of Little Chute, and two brothers, Sylvester and Andrew both of Sherwood.

    Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Church, Sherwood. The Rev. Michael Drexler, pastor, was the celebrant of the requiem high Mass. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

  • Note: STOCKBRIDGE – Lieut. Thomas E. Kees, reported missing in Italy since May 12, was killed in action, according to a telegram received here last week by his wife, Mrs. Harriet Kees, from the war department.

    Before entering service Lieut. Kees attended Mt. Calvary College and St. Francis Seminary at Milwaukee. He enlisted Oct. 8, 1940, and in the spring of 1942, he left for Iceland where she served 11 months before returning to the states.

    He married Harriet Levknecht of Stockbridge town, June 7, 1943. After his marriage he was stationed at Fort Benning, Ga., where he graduated from O.C.S. in July. He left the state again last December and landed a short time in North Africa before taking part in the Italian invasion.
    Lieut Kees also has another brother, Richard, who is stationed in the Aleutians.

    Besides his wife and brother in Service, Thomas is survived by three other brothers, Sylvester, Andrew and Ray, who operate farms in the town of Harrison; 2 sisters, Mrs. Marie Verstegen, Little Chute, and Miss Clara Kees, Charlesburg.

    A daughter was born to Mrs. Harriet Kees on August 15, 1944 at St. Elizabeth hospital, Appleton. Her husband was killed in action last May.

    Florence M. Woldt, age 96, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at Living Tree Estates, Greenville. She was born on November 7, 1920, to the late Daniel and Charlotte (Ulman) Dorn. Florence was united in marriage to Harold Woldt on June 14, 1945, and together they raised seven children. She had a very strong Catholic faith and insisted on attending weekly mass. Florence enjoyed gardening, baking, and travelling and was also active at St. Gabriel's Church as a Scout Leader, kitchen volunteer, and liturgical participant.

    She is survived by her children, Robert (Elaine), Karen (Chris) Burch, Bruce (Susan), Russell (Rebecca), and Cheryl (Michael) Roarty; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Further surviving are sisters Pat Jack, Charlotte Koerner and Bea (Gene) Otto; brothers, Lawrence and Donald; sisters-in-law, Joyce Dorn, Marilyn Dorn, Arlene Agnew, Elaine Plamann, Dorothy Favorite; brother-in-law, Earl (Dianne) Woldt; and many nieces and nephews.

    Florence was preceded in death by husband Harold; sons Jeffrey and Gregory; granddaughter Lauren Roarty; her siblings, Esthermae (John) Krull, Edwin (Loretta) Dorn, Eugene (Dorothy) Dorn, Eunice (Reginald) Brockman, Rosella (Rudolph) Ernst, Daniel Dorn and Jerome Dorn.

    The Mass of Christian Burial for Florence will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at ST. GABRIEL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 900 Geiger Street, Neenah, with Fr. Larry Seidl officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Florence's name.     Carter, Leroy E.
    Leroy E. Carter, King, Wisconsin, age 74, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2008, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. He was born April 10, 1933, in the Town of Ottawa, Waukesha Co., WI; son of Herman and Catherine (Dresang) Carter. Leroy served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from August 24, 1951 - August 19, 1955.

    Leroy is survived by children: Lee (Gayle) Carter, New London, WI; Thomas (Margie) Carter, West Allis, WI; Roxanne (Donald) Van Dinter, Menasha, WI; Linda Ebbens, Appleton, WI; Mark (Debbie) Carter, Milwaukee, WI; brother, Jerry Carter, Carthage, MO; sisters: Audrey (Adrian) Mader, Sherwood, WI; Arlene (Charles) Kadrich, Columbus, WI; Catherine (Arnie) Kelnhofer, Kaukauna, WI. Also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Joyce Carter; second wife, Maxine Carter; and an infant brother.

    A Funeral Service will be on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Main Chapel at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. Sister Cathy Wottreng will officiate. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be at the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King following the services on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in the name of Leroy Carter. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
