  • Note: Velma C. Jaeger-Allen-Yerkman, 95, The Calumet Homestead, formerly of Chilton, died on Friday, May 14, 2010, at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. She was born on Oct. 31, 1914, in Mackville, Wis., daughter of Matt and Aurelia (Tremmel) Dorn. On Oct. 24, 1934, she married Henry "Hank" Jaeger. He preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1963. On Jan. 18, 1969, she married Clifford Allen and he preceded her in death on March 6, 1975. On April 21, 1982, she married George Yerkman. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1992.

    Velma worked for the Chilton Shopping Center for many years and for 17 years as a radio dispatcher with the Calumet County Sheriff's Dept. She was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Chilton, and a lifelong member of St. Augustine Christian Mothers.

    Survivors include her children, Beverly (Christian "Chip") Glasow, Hilbert, and their children, Lori, Lisa and Richard; James Jaeger, Chilton, and his children, Craig, Marc, Chad, Eric and Holly; Gerald Jaeger (Kay), New Holstein, and his children, Cory, Jeffery and Robby; David (Sharon) Allen, Chilton, and their children Tim, Tony and Tina; Nancy (Lee) Babcock, Appleton, and their children, Lynn and Scott; George Yerkman, Jr., Fond du Lac, and their two children; Celinda (Richard) Schwoerer, Manitowoc, and their two children; Cathy Koerber, Chilton, and her three children; Tim (Jane) Yerkman, Colorado, and their two children; Jim (Susan) Yerkman, Chilton, and their three children; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Bernie Gaffnee, Kimberly; a brother, Jerry Dorn, Appleton; two sisters-in-law, Jonie Schumaker, Appleton; and Evelyn Jaeger, Kaukauna; two brothers-in-law, Willy Nennig, Stockbridge; and Dr. Paul Jaeger, Alaska.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Aurelia Dorn; and by two sisters and six brothers.

    Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2010, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (62 E. Main St.) in Chilton, with the Rev. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will be in St. Augustine Cemetery in Chilton. Friends may call at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services.

    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in the name of Velma Yerkman.

  • Note: HENRY M. JAEGER, 51, of 566 Water St., Chilton, died Friday at Calumet Memorial Hospital following an illness of two years.

    He was born at Freedom, Wis., Nov. 19, 1911, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Jaeger, and was graduated from Kaukauna High School. Mr. Jaeger had been manager of the Automotive Supply Co., at Chilton for 21 years. Prior to coming to Chilton he had worked for the firm in Appleton for four years. He was a member of the Chilton Eagles Aerie. Mr. Jaeger was married to Velma Dorn Oct. 13, 1933, at St. Patrick's Church in Greenville, Wis.

    Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Christian (Beverly) Glasow, Hilbert; two sons, James and Gerald, both at home; two grandchildren; six brothers, Frank, Kimberly, John and Peter, both of Milwaukee, Gilbert, Kaukauna, Robert, Kansas City, Mo., and Dr. Clarence Jaeger, Fairbanks, Alaska, and one sister, Mrs. Philip Lewis, Neenah.

    Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Chilton, and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Augustine's Catholic Church with the Rev. Roland Ahearn, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

    Clifford Dorn

    Clifford Dorn, 22, Hortonville, died at 6:45 this morning after a year's illness. He was born June 30, 1919, at Greenville.
    Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Dorn, Hortonville; five brothers, Clarence, Kenneth, and Gerald, Hortonville, Raymond, Appleton, and Merlin, Camp Devens, Mass., and four sisters, Mrs. Laverne Zimmer, Neenah and Marcella and Bernadette, Hortonville.

    The funeral cortege will form at 8;30 Tuesday morning at the Sommers Funeral home, Hortonville, and services will be held at St. Patricks church, Stephensville, with the Rev. Raymond Schauer, in charge. the body may be viewed at the funeral home after 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock Sunday and Monday nights.

    Nennig, Marcella M. "Sally"
    Marcella M. "Sally" Nennig, age 82, of Stockbridge died on Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at Parkside Care Center in Little Chute. She was born July 16, 1926, in Mackville, daughter of the late Matt & Aurelia (Tremmel) Dorn. She married Wilmer J. "Willie" Nennig on January 7, 1944, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. During her life, Sally worked as a waitress and cook at Gobbler's Knob in Stockbridge and the Hemauer General Store in Stockbridge. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge and the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking & canning, word searches and crossword puzzles. Sally was an individual with a big heart who was always willing to help anyone with anything they needed. Her love was always poured out in abundance to her family and she most enjoyed the time she could spend with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Survivors include her husband, Willie; her children: Gary (Barb) Nennig, Chilton; Shirley (Ted) Sell, Stockbridge; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren: Connie (Mike) Krueger and their children Andy and Nick, Dave Sell, Wendy (Dave) Ecker and their children Megan and Mitchell, Julie (Noel) Bushor and their children Brooke and Jayda, Stephen Nennig, Brad Nennig, Kim (Steve) Mathes, Kari (Joe) Loose; a brother, Jerry (Melba) Dorn, Appleton; two sisters: Velma Yerkman, New Holstein; Bernie Gaffney, Kimberly; a sister-in-law, Jonnie Dorn, Appleton; and a brother-in-law, Marvin (Rita) Nennig, Appleton.
    She was preceded in death by six brothers: Clarence, Raymond, Merlyn, Leo, Clifford and Kenneth Dorn; and a sister: Delores Zimmer.
    Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2009, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Stockbridge with the Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
