    Age 69, died unexpectedly Monday, May 5, 1986. She was born December 14, 1917, in Black Creek, the daughter of the late Charles and Lucille (Blick) Fisher, and had been an Appleton resident all of her life. She was associated with her husband, Sylvester, in owning and operating People's Laundry & Dry Cleaners in Appleton for many years, retiring eight years ago. She was a member of the Catholic Daughter's Society, the St. Elizabeth's Hospital Auxiliary, and the A.A.R.P. Survivors include a son and two daughters-in-law, William and Joanne Parker, kalamazoo, Michigan, and Mrs. Carole Parker, Bourbonnais, Illinois; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Francis and Beverly Fisher, Oak Park, Illinois, Cyril (Cy) and Emmy Fisher, Appleton, Jerald and Pat Fisher, Appleton, and James and Laurie Fisher, Kimberly; a sister, Delores Springer, Appleton; five grandchildren, Kathleen, kansas city, Kansas, Stephen, Bourbonnais, Illinois, and Joseph, Jeanne, and Sarah, all of Kalamazoo, Michigan; and a great-grandson, Thomas, Kansas City, Kansas. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester, on March 9, 1976; a son, Thomas on February 4, 1984; and two brothers, John and Joseph Fisher. The mass of resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 9, 1986, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the REv. Wilbert Staudenmaier officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sherwood. Friends may call at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel, 606 N. Oneida St. from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and until 10 a.m. Friday at which time the cortege will leave for the church. . . .

    Formerly of Appleton, age 44, died unexpectedly Saturday, February 4, 1984, at St. Mary Hospital, Kankakee, Illinois. He was born February 2, 1940 in Appleton. He was a graduate of St. Mary High School, Menasha, and attended the University of Marquette, Milwaukee. He was Administrator of Housekeeping and Laundry at St. Mary Hospital, Kankakee. Mr. Parker was a member of the National Executive Housekeepers' Association, the National Association of Institutional Laundry Managers, the Kankakee Camera Club, for which he received numerous awards, the Knights of Columbus, Appleton, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He a past member of the Appleton Optimists' Club and the Appleton Toastmasters' Clib. He served in the United States Navy. Survivors include his wife, Carol; his mother, Mrs. Margaret Parker, Appleton; his father and mother-in-law; William and Emma Lemberger, Oshkosh; a daughter, Kathleen, and a son, Stephen, both at home; a brother and sister-in-law: William and Joanne Parker, Kalamazoo, Michigan; two nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Interment will be in Sherwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brettschneider=Trettin-Lederer Funeral Home, 606 N. Oneida St., from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service. There will be a prayer service at 7 Tuesday evening at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.

  • Note: Dolores Cecilia Springer nee Fisher, age 96, "Mama", Grandma, Great-Grandma and Great-Great-Grandma died peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2014, with family at her side.

    She was born January 22, 1918 the second child of eight to Charles and Lucille (Blick) Fisher at home in Black Creek. Dolores married her love, William J. Springer on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1942. They were married for 36 years when he passed away May 25, 1978.

    Dolores went to St. Joseph elementary school and then St. Therese after it was built. She graduated from Appleton High School (West) in 1936. She enjoyed gardening in her younger years. She made the best coffee cake on Saturday mornings when her kids were younger.

    Dolores made more than forty braided rugs, giving most of them to family. She had a green thumb when it came to growing houseplants. She could get plants to blossom even if no one else could. Dolores also enjoyed reading books, doing crossword and word search puzzles.

    Dolores was a member of St. Therese Parish, Appleton for over 50 years before moving to the south side of Appleton and joining Sacred Heart Parish in 1978. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Ave Maria #1011.

    Survivors include seven children who include two daughters and five sons, Suzanne (David) Rogers, Appleton, Theodore(Pat) Springer, Wisconsin Rapids, Kathleen Springer, Menasha and special friend James Jensen, Phillip (Gail) Springer, Plover, Carl (Mary) Springer, Appleton, Nicholas (Margaret) Springer, Parrish and Robert (Cathy) Springer, Kaukauna and son-in-law Eugene Wendt, Stevens Point. Dolores is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Bernadette Fisher, Appleton, Delores Fisher, Kimberly, and Patricia Fisher, Appleton. She is further survived by 21 grandchildren Tony, Robbie, Mary Beth, Mike, Chris, Rachael, Amber, Nathaniel, Matthew, Kevin, Scott, Lisa, William, Adam, Chris, Beth, Jamie, Jesse, Cameron, Chris and Tyler and 29 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

    Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her daughter Judy Wendt who passed away May 30, 2013 and her son David who passed away March 13, 1966, her parents, a sister Margaret (Sylvester) Parker, brothers Francis (Beverly) Fisher, Cyril (Emmy) Fisher, John (Hope) Fisher, Joseph Fisher, James Fisher, Jerald Fisher. Her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Theodore and Margaret (Marx) Springer also preceded her in death along with all of her husband's brothers and sister.

    Mass of the Resurrection will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Fremont Street, Appleton. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to the time of services. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Black Creek, Wisconsin.     Formerly of 806 N. Drew St., age 63, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon. He was born July 2, 1914 in Appleton and had resided in Appleton for most of his life. Mr. Springer was employed by the Consolidated Paper Company for 22 years until retiring in 1976. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Aleutian Islands. Survivors include his wife, Dolores Fisher Springer; five sons: Theodore, Phillip, Carl, Nicholas and Robert, all of Appleton; three daughters: Mrs. Paul (Judith) Omachinski, Mrs. David (Suzanne) Rogers and Mrs. Richard (Kathleen) Conlon, all of Appleton; two brothers: Theodore and George Springer, both of Appleton; a sister, Miss Viola Springer, also of Appleton; and six grandchildren. Mr. Springer was preceded in death by a son, David, in 1966; also by four brothers. The complete funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Therese Catholic Church with the Rev. Karl Buresch officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Black Creek. Friends may call at the Brettschneider-Trettin Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and until 9:30 Monday morning, at which time the cortege will leave for the church. A prayer service is scheduled for 7 sSunday evening.

    Appleton man, 63, dies after fall from ladder
    A retired Appleton man who fell from a ladder at his home about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday died at 4:20 p.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
    William J. Springer, 63, 1716 S. Sanders St., died of a brain injury and skull fracture, according to outagamie County Coroner Bernard Kemps.
    Springer was on one of the lower rungs of a 5-foot ladder preparing the trim of his home for painting. He slipped from the run and struck his head. He was rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
    Springer retired in 1976 from Consolidated Paper Co. in Appleton, where he worked for 22 years. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Aleutian Islands.
    Springer was born in Appleton and resided here most of his life.
    Survivors include his widow, five sons, three daughters, two brothers, and a sister.
    The funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Therese Catholic church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.

He was a graduate of Xavier High School in 1963 and attended the Appleton Vocational School. He was an apprentice draftsman for Baisch Consulting Engineers, Kaukauna. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Therese Catholic Church and the Jaycee's of Kaukauna. mr. Springer is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Springer; three sisters, Mrs. Paul (Judy) Omachinski, Appleton, Susan and Kathleen, at home; five brothers, Theodore, Phillip, Carl, Nicholas and Robert, all at home; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fisher, 319 E. Hancock St., Appleton. Fuenral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Therese Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Black Creek. Friends may call at the Ellenbecker Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Margaret Parker and Mrs. Delores Springer, both of Appleton; five brothers, Jerald, Joseph and Cyril, all of Appleton; James, Denver; and Francis, oak park , Illinois. The funeral wwas September 6, in Denver. There were military graveside rites at Fort Logan national Cemetery.
