    Biechler, Edna B.
    Edna B. Biechler, age 95, of St. Germain, WI, and formerly of the Appleton area, died Saturday, March 10, 2007, at Inn Care in Minocqua, WI. Edna was born on May 13, 1911, in Winneconne, WI. She worked for many years for JC Penney in Appleton, WI. She was an avid bowler and she played on leagues in the Appleton area. She also enjoyed playing cards. Edna was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #38 in Appleton, WI, and a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly, WI.

    She was preceded in death by her husbands: Walter VandenBoom, Ralph Krabbe and Andrew Biechler; her parents: Louis and Minna (NEE Miller) Carow; sisters: Florence Teela, Verna Konow, Myrtle Putman, Ruth Helms, Erna Vanesky, Evelyn Ford, Beatrice Zieglebauer and Sophie Carow; brothers: Robert, Harvey, George and Louis Carow.

    Edna is survived by her son, Peter (Kay) VandenBoom, St. Germain, WI; sisters: Marilyn (George) Gajewski, Menasha, WI; Ada Stahl, Menasha, WI; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

    A memorial Mass will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2007, at Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly, WI. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton, WI. Arrangements by Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, WI.

  • Note: Frances E. Heineman, 100, previously of Sheboygan, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at Pine Haven Christian Home.

    Frances was born January 11, 1911 in Kaukauna, to the late Theodore and Frances (Jansen) Ellsworth. She graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1929, and attended Lawrence University in Appleton. On June 27, 1935 she married Alban Gerend DDS at Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna. Together the couple moved to Sheboygan where Alban had his dental practice. He preceded her in death May 8, 1958. She then married Harold Heineman on June 30, 1967. He preceded her in death December 22, 1983.

    Frances was a member of St. Clement Catholic Parish for many years. She was also involved with St. Nicholas Auxiliary, Kohler Arts Foundation, the Sheboygan County Historical Society Board, and friends of Mead Library. She also excelled in playing bridge, competing in area tournaments.

    She is survived by her daughters Ann (Kenton) Williams of Willard, WI, and Frances "Frankie"(Marvin) Mengeling of Oshkosh, WI, her grandchildren; Steven Williams, Thomas Mengeling and Brenda (Michael Goodson) Mengeling. She was preceded in death by her brother Cleon Ellsworth.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Frances Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Reverend Michael Dineen will be the Celebrant. Friends may call at church on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow services at Calvary Cemetery.

    A memorial fund has been established in her name.
