She was born April 3, 1898 in Canada and formerly lived at Lake Linden, Michigan. She had been an Appleton resident for the past 58 years. Mrs. Schumacher was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Dora) Smith, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Gloudemans, and Mrs. Earl (Dorothy) Schroeder, all of Appleton; a son, Robert Schumacher, also of Appleton; 13 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from St. Bernadette Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Gulig officiating. Interment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Brettschneider-Trettin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

  • Note: Joyce Loewenhagen, age 74, of Appleton, died on Thursday, April 21, 2011. She was born March 19, 1937, in Appleton, the daughter of the late Harvey and Elda (Burmeister) Schultz. On September 22, 1955, she married the love of her life, Dale Loewenhagan at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Appleton. Joyce was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Appleton. She enjoyed reading, puzzles and visiting with her relatives and friends.

    Joyce is survived by her three sons: Randy (Della) Loewenhagen, Nekoosa; Scott (Rochelle) Loewenhagen, Appleton and Tom (Laura) Loewenhagen, Appleton; her grandchildren: Kristi (Dave) Lehman, Kenneth (Michelle) Loewenhagen and Kelly (Nick) Faymoville; Lynsi (William) Puetz and Jacci Loewenhagen; Matthew and BreeAnna Loewenhagen; great-grandchildren: Meara and Maddy Lehman; Morgan and Parker Loewenhagen; Camden Faymoville; her sister: Mary Jane Owens, Appleton; sisters-in-law: Betty Schultz, Appleton; Pat Loewenhagen, Kaukauna, and Ruth Schroeder, Appleton; brothers-in-law: Wilfred (Mary) Loewenhagen, Appleton and Joseph VanderWeilen, Appleton. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers: Harvey (Dorothy) Schultz, Jr. and Wilmer Schultz; brothers-in-law Earl (Ila Mae) Loewenhagen, Edward Loewenhagen, Kenneth Schroeder and Robert (Betty) Heegeman and her sister-in-law: Shirley VanderWeilen.

    The funeral service for Joyce will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at ST. PAUL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 302 N. Morrison Street, Appleton. Rev. Kenneth L. Frey will be officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church are appreciated.

  • Note: Reinhold H. Harp age 77, Greenville died on Friday, March 23, 2012, at his residence. Reinhold was born on November 27, 1934, in Appleton son of the late Reinhold and Lillian (Prue) Harp. On May 6, 1972, he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Hughes in Appleton. He was a cement finisher and member of the Wisconsin Masons Union. He worked for Oscar Boldt for 16 years, retiring in 1996. Rein loved spending hours working in his apple orchard and garden. He always planted "a little extra" so he could share with family and friends.

    Reinhold is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Jane; a brother, Charles Harp, New London; a sister, Margaret (Carl) Ruedinger, Appleton; a half brother, Lenny (Reba) Delaware, Pekin, IL. Sister-in-laws: Vivian Hughes, Milwaukee; Helen (Del) Mueller, Shawano; Shirley (Milt) Collar, Appleton and Kathy Kamba, Neenah; two brothers-in-law, Cliff (Tracy) Hughes, Hortonville and Patrick (Connie) Hughes, Greenville. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    He is preceded in death by half brothers, Barney, Elwood, George Delaware, half sister, Adeline Breitrick and a brother-in-law, Steve Kamba.

    Funeral mass for Reinhold will be held on Monday, March 26, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Hortonville with Fr. James Feely and Parish Director Greg Layton officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to best friends and neighbors, Bob and Jean Greinert and ThedaCare Hospice nurses Mary and Page.
