    Daniel H. Van Deurzen, 38, Hilbert, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born September 15, 1976, son of Don and Evelyn (Brantmeier) Van Deurzen. On September 19, 1998, Dan was united in marriage to his sweetheart, Nicole Van Dyn Hoven. He has worked as a farmer for most of his life, and worked at Lamers Dairy as a milk truck driver for several years. Dan was a member and trustee at Lighthouse Church in Kaukauna. He didn't have a lot of personal hobbies because, all in all, Nikki and the children were his hobbies.

    Dan is survived by his loving wife, Nicole; his five precious children: Abraham (14), Isaac (12), Nathanael (10), Uriah (7), and Ruth (4); his parents, Don and Evelyn; siblings: Rosann (Jack) Dax, Dave (Diane), Mike (Julie), Pete (Nicki), Theresa (Jon) Baroun, Vicki, and Beth (Andy) De Bruin; mother-in-law, Marcie Rosin; father-in-law, Gerald Van Dyn Hoven; brother-in-law, Eric Van Dyn Hoven; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

    Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents; his brothers: Richard and Steve; a niece, Laura.

    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, 101 Canal Street, Little Chute, with Pastor Michael West officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, October 11, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and will continue on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.     Age 76, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. She was born December 16, 1898 in Phlox, Wisconsin and was an Appleton resident all of her adult life. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Pat Holder of New Jersey, Mrs. Ray (Alice) Maas of Appleton; two sons, Orville (Bud) Cleveland of Kaukauna, Roy of Denver, Colorado; a brother, Edward Brouillard of Black Creek; 18 grandchildren, great-grandchildren. She ws preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Cleveland, Amy Doepker, two brothers, Meador, Henry, Isadore Brouillard. Complete funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home from 3 until 9 Wednesday and after 8 a.m. Thursday. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 Wednesday evening. A memorial has been established.

  • Note: Tammy Ver Voort, 40, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2010, at home. Tammy was born on May 2, 1970, to David, Sr. and Darlene (Ashton) Ver Voort in Appleton. Tammy was a school teacher in the Kaukauna School District, teaching for many years at Nicolet and Park Schools.

    She loved animals, kids, reading and also enjoyed quiet times at home with her dog, Lady. She was grateful for her family and many friends. Tammy was an Elvis fan since she was four years old and collected Elvis memorabilia.

    Tammy is survived by her parents, David, Sr. and Darlene Ver Voort, Appleton; her brother, David, Jr. "DJ" (Jolie) Ver Voort, and a special niece, McKenna, Greenville; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

    She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Arnold and Virginia Ver Voort; and her maternal grandparents, Harold and Joyce Ashton.

    A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 18, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home. Friends may call on Monday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Barbara Hines and all of the teachers in the Kaukauna School District.

    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Tammy's name.
