    Van Lanen, Edna S. Edna S. Van Lanen, 95, De Pere, passed away Thursday Oct. 12, 2006, at a local nursing home. She was born April 21, 1911, to the late Joseph and Angela (Cielecki) Kazik in Suamico. Edna worked as a seamstress for 25 years at the Algoma Hammock Co. She also loved gardening and playing cards.

    Edna is survived by her three children, daughter, Audrey (Clarence) Calaway and their children, Barbara, Lawrence, Janet, Daniel, Bruce and William, daughter, Alice Stuebes, son, William (Camille) Van Lanen and their children, Antoinette, Teresa, Angela, Deanna and Joe; daughter-in-law, Carol Van Lanen and her children, Robert, Rick Renee and Robyn; 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy (Bill) Mayzina; and her sisters-in-law, Caroline and Lydia Kazik.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilford P. Van Lanen; son, Robert Van Lanen; son-in-law, Herb Stuebes; six brothers, Roman, Irvin Ed, Herman, Norbert and Joe Kazik; three sisters, Ann La Follette, Stella Kempen and Virginia Cartier.

    Friends may call from 9 until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday Oct. 17, 2006, at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, (corner of Lourdes Avenue and Suburban Drive). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the visitation at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Tim Shillcox, O. Praem., officiating. The RYAN FUNERAL HOME of De Pere is assisting the family.     Calaway, Audrey Ann


    Audrey Ann Calaway, 70, De Pere, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Audrey was born May 3, 1939, the daughter of the late Wilford and Edna (Kazik) Van Lanen. She married Clarence Calaway on Sept. 5, 1959.

    Audrey was a Nicolet High School graduate, Class of 1958. Audrey's first job was at Derek's A&W as a carhop. She then moved on to Fort Howard Paper Co. She finished her career at St. Norbert College with 23 years in custodial services. Her most fulfilling job was as a volunteer at Outreach Services in De Pere.

    Audrey enjoyed flower gardening, going up north and NASCAR races. She was also an avid Packers fan. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, when the family gathered for brunch.

    Audrey is survived by her husband, Clarence; children, Barbara (Mark) Ninham, Lawrence (Toni) Calaway, Janet Calaway, Daniel (Jenny) Calaway, Bruce Calaway, William (Jackie) Calaway; grandchildren, Curtis Ninham, Kimberly Ninham, Cory Ninham, Rachel Schulze, Becky (Tim) Ottery, Travis Schulze, Devin Calaway, Amy Calaway, Emily Calaway, Josh Calaway, Ben Calaway; great-grandchildren, Nathan Ninham, Andrew Ninham, Micah Ottery, Keegan Ottery, Taliyah Ninham; sister, Alice Stuebs; brother, William (Camille) Van Lanen; aunts, Caroline Kazik, Dorothy (William) Mazzina; in-laws, Arlene Bogenschutz, Sylvester (Pat) Calaway, Bernard (Margaret) Calaway; special friends, Joann Terrien, Peggy Alfred, Ellie Teresinski; and other relatives and friends.

    Audrey was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Van Lanen; and brother-in-law, Herb Stuebs.

    Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Ave. and Suburban Drive, De Pere, Monday, June 8, 2009, from 9 a.m. to time of service. The Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated at 11 a.m. with Fr. Tim Shillcox O.Praem officiating. Burial will take in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
