She was also preceded in death by their son Paul, at age 19, their infant grandson, Joseph Jacobs, her brother, Louis Beamier and her sister Carole Schilling.
She is survived by her daughters; Bonnie (Richard) Jacobs, Green Bay, and their children; Julie Livingston and fiancé Jay Boettge, Mary Beth (David) Vander Steeg, both of De Pere; Michael, Green Bay; and Karyn (Mark) Dart of Grenta, NE; and Marjorie (Paul) Noel, New London, and their children; Douglas (Tina) of New London, Kristin (Brett) Christopherson and Karrie (Kevin) Deering, both of Little Chute. Laurette loved her family and being with them and her friends. She was first and foremost a wife and mother. When the children were grown she enjoyed working as an assistant cook at Preble High School, at the Salad Garden in Port Plaza Mall, and later at Resurrection Catholic Grade School in the cafeteria. She loved to cook and bake and enjoyed teaching others how she did it. Laurette was a seamstress and quilter and proudly made a beautiful hand – stitched quilt for each daughter, grandchild, and even a few of the great-grandchildren. She was a volunteer for the St. Vincent Hospital Auxiliary and many things at Resurrection including vacation Bible School, making her famous cinnamon buns and donuts. After she acquired macular degeneration she had to give this all up, but she continued to knit scarves as long as she could. She and Ed enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and going up to the Eagle River area for fishing. They both enjoyed bowling and golfing as well. And she was always ready for shopping!!! When she had to give up her car and later her home due to her failing eyesight, it was hard for her to accept, but she did her best. The family is grateful for the love, support, and care given to her at Bellevue Community Center, then Angel's Touch Assisted Living and, finally, Unity Hospice and wishes to express their deepest appreciation and gratitude to all the staff.
Family and friends may call at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, Allouez from 10am to 11am Thursday, November 11, 2010, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial with Bishop Robert Morneau officiating.
