    Age 33, died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 9, 2003 in Florence County. He was born on January 14, 1970 son of Paul and Nancy (Webb) Calaway of De Pere. He was a gradate of West De Pere High School. Corey was employed with Carl Bowers & Sons of Kaukauna in which he enjoyed greatly. Corey enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, and partying with his friends and family. He was a dedicated member of the De Pere Snow Owl Snowmobile club.

    Corey is survived by his parents Nancy and Paul Calaway his sister and brother in law, Margaret and Michael Pierog, his sister Shannon Calaway, and his recent fiancee Barb Sohr. His niece Johanna Bixby, and his nephews Dalton and Evan Pierog, Corbin Calaway, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins and many friends survive him.

    Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME De Pere, with a parish prayer service at 4 p.m. Visitation will continue after 9:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church De Pere, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. with Fr. Conrad Kratz, O. Praem, officiating burial in Mt. Calvary cemetery.

    The family would like to express sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Gerald Bayer, and the wonderful St. Vincent oncology unit staff. Special thanks to Monique Vanstechelman for all the loving care she provided to Corey and family. Also a sincere thanks to Dr. Timothy Kennedy and all the family and friends.

  • Note: Leroy W. Thibodeau, age 85, passed away at Cherry Meadows Hospice, Monday evening, July 30, 2013, surrounded by his loving family, after a short battle with cancer. He was born March 28, 1928 to the late Adeland and Laura (Schmitz) Thibodeau in Appleton. Leroy graduated from Appleton West High School in 1946 and enlisted in the Navy. He graduated from Fond du Lac business College and worked as a purchasing agent for Kaukauna Machine, later Giddings Lewis, for 38 years. Leroy was an avid golfer, golfing everyday. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was very active in St Pius X School and Church, but most of all, he will be remembered as a loving father to his children.He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joanie, as well as his children; Nancy (Dave) Recker, Appleton, Jim (Kathy) Thibodeau, Appleton, and Linda (Rod) McClearn, Orland Park, Il. Leroy is further survived by his grandchildren; Nicole, Chris, Patrick, Laura and Keighly, great grandchildren; Kyan, Aiden Hadley and Max. He is also survived by his sister Jeanne Wilson and brother Vern (Risa) Thibodeau.Preceding Leroy in death are his parents and his brother in law, Chet Wilson.A memorial mass for Leroy will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at St Pius X Catholic Church, with the Rev. William Van Dynhoven officiating. Friends and family may call at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service.     Age 80, died Sunday evening, March 2, 2003, following a long illness. She was born August 29, 1922, to the late Joseph and Anna (Nickels) Schimmers, in Appleton, where she was a resident her entire life. Josie had been employed by Stokely VanCamp for six years. She was an avid bingo and card player, loved socializing and was a very loving person. Josie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Third Order of St. Francis and the Christian Ladies. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert V. and Ellen Bellin, Appleton two granddaughters, Sara and Victoria Bellin two brothers and sisters-in-law, Oliver "Butch" and Dorothy Schimmers, Appleton Russell and Gail Schimmers, Florida two sisters and a brother-in-law, Olive Ann and Harold Emmons, Appleton and Florence Knutson, Appleton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor W. Bellin, December 16, 1985, two brothers, Frank and Stanley Schimmers, a sister, Alice Schimmers, a sister-in-law, Marie Schimmers and a brother-in-law, Orviand Knutson.The funeral liturgy for Josephine will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 East Fremont Street, Appleton, Wisconsin with Father Robert Karuhn officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 am, Wednesday until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.
