    Neuman, Mary Catherine


    Mary C. Neuman, 88, lifelong resident of Greenville, passed away on November 18, 2009, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 10, 1921, to the late Joseph and Julia (Becker) Stoffel and was married to the late Louis C. Neuman on June 14, 1946. Mary loved gardening, was an exceptional cook at many area restaurants, and a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Greenville.

    Mary is survived by her children: Nancy (Eugene) Arnold, Donald (Debra) Neuman, Joyce (Duane) Rettler, Alice (Dan) Miller, James Neuman, Jerry (Sandy) Neuman, and Bill (Jane) Neuman, sisters; Agnes VanHeuklon, Sally Schroth, seventeen grandchildren, seventeen great-grand children, and many other nieces, nephews and in-laws.

    Her parents, husband, three brothers, four sisters and other family members will greet Mary in Heaven.

    Funeral services for Mary will be held at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, N2385 Municipal Dr., Greenville, WI, on Monday, November 23, 2009. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Fr. Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.

  • Note: Joyce M. Kramer, age 86, of Kaukauna, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Little Chute. She was born September 4, 1929 in Seymour to the late Frank and Floris (Maass) Henn. On June 4, 1947, Joyce married Earl Kramer at St. Sebastian Church, Issaar. The couple enjoyed 48 years together prior to his death on November 25, 1995.

    Joyce lived most her life in the Seymour and Freedom area. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, and crafting. Her family was her pride and joy. She was a member of Saint Nicholas Catholic Church, the Freedom VFW Auxiliary #7692, and the Rainbow Club.

    Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Rose Kramer, of Kaukauna; two grandchildren: Heather (Luke) Vosters of Combined Locks, and Andy (Rebecca) Kramer of Kaukauna; four great grandchildren and one on the way, Josephine and Amelia Vosters and Nolan, Caleb, and "Boy" Kramer; a brother, Carl (Carolyn) Hemm of Black Creek, a sister-in-law Mary Henn of King; a brother-in-law Rodney Malkoff of Kokomo, Indiana; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband Earl, a son Joseph in 2000, a brother LeRoy in 2010, and a sister Alice in 2014.

    Funeral services for Joyce will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at SAINT NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, W2037 County Rd S, Freedom.   • Note: Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Calmes, 96, of Wausau, who died Thursday afternoon, April 28, at St. Mary’s hospital where she was admitted Wednesday, were held Monday morning. A mass of requiem was sung at St. Michael’s Catholic church, Wausau, at 10 o’clock with the Very Rev. John Krasowski officiating. Interment was made in St. John the Baptist cemetery, Wuerzburg. Mrs. Calmes was a member of the parish council of St. John the Baptist Catholic church, Wuerzburg.

    Mrs. Calmes was born Jan. 18, 1870, in Appleton, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ellenbecker. Her marriage to Theodore Calmes took place in Machville April 26, 1892. They lived in Marathon county since 1910. Mr. Calmes died in 1952.

    She is survived by six daughters, Amalia and Barbara, with who she lived, Wausau, Mrs. Anton Schmirler, Abbotsford, Mrs. Joseph Boser, Milwaukee, Mrs. Elmerd Schemenauer, town of Frankfort, and Mrs. Charles Scherer, Chicago; four sons, George of Abbotsford, Joseph and Norbert of Wuerzburg and Peter of Wausau; three brothers, John Ellenbecker and Alex Ellenbecker of Wausau and William Ellenbecker, Edgar; 31 grand children and 72 great grand children.

  • Note: De Pere - William J. "Bill" Aerts, 92, De Pere, passed away at home peacefully after a long courageous battle with cancer with family at his side. Bill is the son of the late Fred and Frances (VerHeyen) Aerts. On September 27, 1947 Bill married his best friend, love of his life, and soulmate Bernice VanEnkenvort. Bill would say, this was the best day of his life, and Bernice was absolutely perfect. They enjoyed 67 wonderful years together. Bill treasured every moment with her. He loved spending time with his family, and loved going up to their cabin and sitting on the deck with Bernice overlooking the pond watching all the wildlife. Bill enjoyed working in his shop fixing and building things with his hands, his sense of humor was remarkable. He always put a smile on everyone's face. A special thank you to Mike Vandenberg, Bob Greiner, and Marie Shilka for all the memorable visits.

    Bill and Bernice had five children; Vicky Aerts (Jeff Blake), Peggy Reinhard (Tom Buschmann), Harvey Aerts, Alice Aerts, and Dennis Sr. (Penny) Aerts. Seven grandchildren; Jessica (David) Brunner, Jacob Blake-Aerts, Justin Blake-Aerts, Kristy (Chad) Schafer, Nathan Aerts, Dennis Aerts Jr., and Dean Aerts. His great grandchildren; Aiden and Madyson Brunner, and Lillian and Kylie Schafer. Bill is further survived by his sisters; Loretta Thyssen, Marge Buresh, Rosemary McVey, Jean McVey, Gerry (Pete) VanDenBogart, Pat (John) Geurts, and brother-in-laws; Red Beyer and Bernard Jones.

    Bill was preceded in death by his wife Bernice Aerts, Parents; Fred and Frances Aerts, Son Harvey Aerts, Daughter Alice Aerts, and Grandson Justin Blake-Aerts.

    His sisters Janice Beyer, Ceil Cornelissen, Dorothy Matzke, Betty Mae Jones, Alice VanDeHei, and brother-in-laws; Ray Thyssen, Joe Buresh, Don McVey, Donald Matzke, and Bernard McVey, further preceded Bill in death.

  • Note: Bernice J. Aerts (VanEnkenvort), 85, De Pere, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2015 from complications of a surgery. She was born on Sept. 8, 1929, the daughter of the late Vincent and Amelia (Hock) VanEnkevort. Bernice married the love of her life, soulmate and best friend, Bill Aerts, on Sept. 27, 1947. This was the best day of her life. Mom would always say she lived a good life, a perfect life.

    Bernice loved to spend time with her husband and family. She loved to spend time up north at their cabin, sitting on the deck. She loved to play cards, watch Packer games and Jeff Gordon race.

    Bernice and Bill had five children; Dennis Sr. (Penny) Aerts, Harvey Aerts, Peggy Reinhard (Tom Buschmann), Alice Aerts and Vicky Aerts (Jeff Blake); 7 grandchildren, Kristy (Chad) Schafer, Jessica (David) Brunner, Jacob Blake-Aerts, Justin Blake-Aerts, Nathan Aerts, Dennis Aerts Jr. and Dean Aerts. She loved to have fun with her great-grandchildren, Lillian and Kylie Schafer, and Aiden and Madyson Brunner. Bernice also enjoyed visiting and chatting with her very special friend, Mike Vandenberg. Bernice is further survived by her 7 brothers and sisters; David (Cathy) VanEnkevort, Eugene VanEnkevort, Cheri (Jay) Hewitt, Gail (Jim) Gerrits, Elaine (Lenny) Green, Joyce VanEnkenvort, Sandy (John) Giles.

    Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, Slim (Molly) VanEnkevort; son, Harvey Aerts; daughter, Alice Aerts, her sister, Joyce VanEnkenvort; grandson, Justin Blake-Aerts; sister-in-law, Lue VanEnkevort and two brothers-in-law, Jim Gerrits and Lenny Green.

    Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street in De Pere on Friday, May 29, 2015 beginning at 3pm. A funeral service will follow at 7pm with Fr. Tim Shillcox O.Praem officiating.
