    Age 79, passed away peacefully at Cherry Meadows Hospice Care Center in Appleton, WI, Sunday February 8, 2004 after a long bout with cancer.

    Donna was born November 6, 1924 in Farmington, Waupaca County, the youngest of three children born to the late Leroy and Gena (Olson) Rasmussen. She graduated from Waupaca High School at age 16. Donna married Richard Hendricks on September 21, 1945 and they shared 46 years together, before his death June 19, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her brother Gaylord Rasmussen (Fullerton, CA) brother-in-law Robert "Bob" Johnson and nephew, Curt Johnson, both of Appleton, WI.

    Donna was employed during WWII at Kimberly Clark, Lakeview Mill and later at Appleton Medical Center. After retirement, she returned to AMC as a volunteer until becoming unable. Donna was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1941 she was a life member of the VFW, past President and Secretary of the Auxiliary to the Post #2778, past President of the 8th District Auxiliary and a member of the Appleton Chapter #404 Women of the Moose. Donna was an avid sports fan, always enjoyed a great game of cards with family or friends, gardening, cooking and playing the organ. Her heart was always open to others and no one was ever a stranger.

    Survivors include daughter, Sandi (Orlyn) Traaseth, New Richmond, WI son, Bill (Irene) Hendricks, Springboro, OH son, Dave Hendricks, Appleton, WI sister, Carral Johnson, Appleton 9 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild and sister-in-law, Lavern Rasmussen, Fullerton, CA. Donna is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

    The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, February 11, 2004, at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 209 South Allen Street, Appleton, with Rev. Kurt Kovanen and Rev. Mary Beth Kovanen officiating. Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 10 from 4 until 8 p.m., and again at the church on Wednesday from 9 until 9:45. A V.F.W. Auxiliary service at 6:30 p.m. and a service by the Women of the Moose at 7:30 p.m. will both be held on Tuesday at the funeral home. The interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.

    She will be greatly missed by all who's lives she touched.

    The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the many Healthcare providers who cared for Donna during her bout with cancer.

    Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1875 North Calhoun Road, Brookfield, from 3:00-4:45 PM. Funeral Service at 5:00 PM. Private family interment on Monday at Sunnyside Cemetery.

    Roy McCallum

    MENASHA- Roy McCallum, 74 of 1306 Lakeshore Drive, died at 12:02 this morning following a lingering illness. He was born Jan. 31,1900 in Berlin, and had been an Appleton resident during the past 34 years.

    He was an employee of Wisconsin Telephone Co.for 44 years until his retirement nine years ago.

    Mr. McCallum was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Berlin.

    Survivors are his widow, Cyrilla Gerrits McCallum, one son, Donald of Stoughton; one brother, Donald of Beaver Dam and two grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday from the Wichmann Funeral Home with the Rev. H. E. Norenberg officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park.

    Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.

  • Note: Kaukauna - George Gerrits, 68, 114 W. Division St., collapsed and died while attending services at Holy Cross Catholic Church here about 8:30 a.m. Sunday. C.J. Schink, Outagamie County deputy coroner, said Gerrits died of a heart attack. He had a history of heart trouble. Gerrits reportedly collapsed in the church restroom. He retired in 1966 from the Thilmany Pulp and Paper Co., where he had worked for 49 years. The Fargo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by two brothers, Leonard, Appleton; James, Oshkosh; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Cyrilla) McCallum, Menasha; Mrs. H. (Evie) Martin, Clearwater, Florida.     Active Catholic Layman Dies at 46

    Edward M. Gerrits, 46, of 1624 W. Lawrence St., traffic manager at the Wisconsin Distributing Co.. died Thursday after a two-month illness.

    He was the editor of the Si-O-Seven newspaper of the Father Fitzmaurice Council of the Knights of Columbus and treasurer of the Sacred Heart Seminary League and the Christian Family Movement.

    He was born Dec. 14, 1916 in Wrightstown, and has been a resident of Appleton for the last 34 years.

    Gerrits is survived by his wife, one son, one daughter, four brothers and two sisters.

    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ellenbecker Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Sunday.

    James Gerrits

    1198 Olson St. Oshkosh Age 53, died at Mercy Hospital Wednesday morning following an extended illness. He was born October 16, 1918 in Wrightstown, Wisconsin and he was employed with the F.A.A. at Whitman Field, Oshkosh since 1962 in the Airways Facilities Sector, dealing with electronics. he worked at Truax Airport in Madison for 14 years prior to coming to Oshkosh. He was a member of the Toastmasters Club No. 1483 and had served in several offices including the presidency. he served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. Survivors are his wife Geraldine; three daughters, Mrs. John (Constance) Didlo, Sun Prairie, Wis, Janis and Wendy, both at home; a son Brian, at home; a brother Leonard, Appleton; two sisters, Mrs. Roy (Cyrilla) McCallum, Menasha. Mrs. H. P. (Henrietta) Martin, Clearwater, Florida; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday morning at the Poklasny Funeral Home, South Park Ave. Oshkosh with the Rev. Lynn E Scovill officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Oshkosh. Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. Friday until the hour of service.
