He served his country in the US Navy. he was a Dairy Farmer until moving and owning Big Wheel Donut on Kauai, Hawaii, then retiring to Sun City in 2005. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara (Hibbard) Ver Haagh; mother Katherine Ver Haagh of Green Bay; daughters Lisa Ver Haagh of Green Bay, Kim (Bart) Drage of De Pere and Wendy (Britt) Woodring of Portland, Oreg.; brothers James Ver Haagh, De Pere and Daniel (Mary) Ver Haagh, Green Bay; sister Jean (Ralph) Weaver of Green Bay and four grandchildren. Preceeding him in death are his father Francis, brother Kenneth and sister-in-law Margaret Ver Haagh. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 9728 W. Palmeras Dr., Sun City, Ariz.   • Note: Andrew (Andy) W. Albers, 97 died Friday February 22, 2013 at a local nursing home after a short illness. He was born January 3, 1916 in De Pere to the late Henry and Minnie (Coenen) Albers. On August 9, 1938 he married Orilla Geurts and spent 71 years together until Orilla's death in 2010. Andrew and Orilla farmed in rural Wrightstown until 1958 when they moved to Ashwaubenon where Andrew still resided. Andrew was employed by Consolidated Dairy until his retirement in 1986. For many years after continued to work part time at Nativity of Our Lord Parish as a custodian until 1989. Andrew continued his Catholic ministry in many ways at Nativity until 2006.

    Andrew is survived by two children, Patricia (Thomas) Biskner, Howard and Arthur (Karla) Albers, West De Pere. He is further survived by six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Anne (Michael) Macco and children Andrew and Sophia, Joan (Grant W.) Wery and daughters Hayle and Emily, Krakow, Jon (Jennifer) Biskner and sons Brandon, Ayden, and Ashton, Howard, Mary (Robert)Bourin and children Emma, Abigail, and Bennett, Howard, James(Kendra) Albers and son Tate, Franksville, Wi, and Kevin Albers, San Francisco, Ca. He is also survived by two brothers and sister-in-laws, Ben (Lee) Albers, De Pere and Robert (Delores) Albers, Appleton, and sister in law Dorothy Wicker, West De Pere, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

    Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, sons John in 1949, Arnold in 1950, grandson Andrew Albers in 1980, and sisters Patricia (in infancy) and Bernice Albers. Also preceded in death by brother and sister-in-law Leo(Beatrice) Albers, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Frank (Ophelia) Geurts, Elmer (Lillian) Geurts, Leo(Marie) Geurts, Robert (Esther) Geurts, Ernest (Florence) Geurts, Bernard (Evelyn) Geurts, Clarence (Mary) Geurts, Viola(Wilburt) Leiterman, Marcella(Harvey) Seiler, Teresa(Conrad) Elfe and brother-in-law Ignatius "Bud" Wicker, father and mother-in-law Arnold and Anna Geurts.

    Visitation for Andrew will be Thursday February 28, 2013 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, corner of Oneida St. and Cormier Rd., Green Bay from 9:00am until the time of Mass.     Albers, Orilla A.


    Orilla A. Albers, 94, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at a local nursing home of congestive heart failure. She was born Aug. 9, 1915, in De Pere, to the late Arnold and Anna (Aerts) Geurts.

    She attended St. Mary's Grade School, De Pere, and on her 23rd birthday, Aug. 9, 1938, she married Andrew Albers of De Pere, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, and they spent 71-plus years together.

    She worked as a waitress at the Union Hotel in De Pere prior to her marriage and for a time after. They then farmed in rural De Pere and moved to Ashwaubenon in 1958, where Andrew still resides.

    Orilla was employed at Spiegel Catalog Center in Green Bay and J.C. Penney in the old store on Washington Street and in the then-new store in Port Plaza Mall, retiring in 1980.

    Orilla was a wonderful cook and baker and enjoyed making homemade bread and rolls, pies, cakes and cookies. When you sat at mom's dining table, it was like a picture in Better Homes and Gardens magazine.

    She is survived by her husband, Andrew; two children, Patricia (Thomas) Biskner, Howard; and Arthur (Karla) Albers, West De Pere. She is further survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, Anna (Michael) Macco and children, Andrew and Sophia, Howard; Joan (Grant W.) Wery and daughters, Hayle and Emily, Krakow; Jon (Jennifer) Biskner and sons, Brandon and Ayden, Howard; Mary (Robert) Bourin and children, Emma, Abigail, and Bennett, Howard; James (Kendra) Albers, Champaign, Ill.; and Kevin Albers, Salt Lake City, Utah. She is also survived by a brother, Clarence Geurts, Ashwaubenon; two sisters, Teresa Elfe, Ashwaubenon; and Dorothy Wicker, Wrightstown; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bernard (Lee) Albers, De Pere; and Robert (Delores) Albers, Appleton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

    Orilla was preceded in death by her parents; sons, John, in 1949, and Arnold, in 1950; and grandson, Andrew Albers, in 1980. She was born February 27, 1945 to the late Roy and Colette (Theunis) Copiskey. On April 19, 1969 she married Darrell Tetzlaff at St. Paul Catholic Church, Wrightstown. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2001. Linda enjoyed walking, reading, puzzles, knitting and fantasy football. She liked country living, playing cards and socializing over a glass of wine. Most of all, her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy, and made her very proud.

    She is survived by her children; Leah (Bruce Grode, Brayden) Tetzlaff-Barnes and Jeff (Lynn Bourassa) Tetzlaff, grandchildren; Brandon, Katrina and Amanda Barnes, Torry Tetzlaff and Brandon Bourassa.

    Preceding her in death are her husband, Darrell, her parents and her sister, Carol Stenzel.

    A gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:30 to 11:15, Thursday, April 27, 2017 at St. Clare Catholic Parish St. Paul Site, 437 Main St, Wrightstown, 54180. The funeral mass will follow at 11:30 with the Rev. Brian Wideman officiating. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family.

    Stenzel, Carol A.


    Carol A. Stenzel, 67, Wrightstown, passed away at a local hospital on Thursday evening, April 30, 2009, following a six month courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Green Bay on Dec. 23, 1941, a daughter of the late Roy and Colette (Theunis) Copiskey. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Wrightstown, and attended St. Paul Catholic School. She was a 1960 graduate of Wrightstown High School.

    On Sept. 4, 1961, Carol was united in marriage to Elmer P. Stenzel at St. Paul Catholic Church. They enjoyed traveling together, and spent every wedding anniversary for the past 10+ years at The Point in Minocqua.

    Carol was very detail oriented and loved planning all the family events and activities. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and never missed a sports or school event or activity involving any of them. Carol was very fond of her large collection of angel pictures and figurines. She took pleasure in cooking and her family especially loved her pizza burgers. She also enjoyed watching professional and college sports, particularly the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

    Survivors include her husband, Elmer; four children, John (Nancy) Stenzel, Wrightstown; Joe (Kathy) Stenzel, De Pere; Missy Robbins (special friend, Alan Carrier, II), Wrightstown; and Mike (Cathy) Stenzel, De Pere; 11 grandchildren, Jim (Katie) Phelan, Tracy Phelan, and Sarah Phelan (special friend, Adam Merkel); Emily Stenzel and Elijah Stenzel; Kayla Robbins and A.J. Robbins; Samuel Stenzel, Isabella Stenzel, Josie Stenzel and Gracie Stenzel. Also surviving are a sister, Linda Tetzlaff, Wrightstown; sister-in-law, Joyce (Dick) Lodel; brothers-in-law, Edward Stenzel, Walter (Lorraine) Stenzel, Charles (Darlene) Stenzel, Bill (Lori) Stenzel, Jim (Sue) Stenzel and Lloyd Free; and many nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Colette Copiskey; her husband's parents, Walter and Florence Stenzel; brothers-in-law, Darrell Tetzlaff and David Stenzel; and sisters-in-law, Geraldine Free and Elaine Stenzel.

    Family and friends may call at St. Paul Catholic Church, Wrightstown, on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, from 9 to 10:45 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Kabat officiating and Deacon Ken Kabat assisting. Burial will follow in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery.

  • Note: Donald Paul Ribarchek, 86, Green Bay, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011. Don was born in Two Rivers, on Dec. 26, 1924, to John Paul "Jack" and Eunice May (Remmel) Ribarchek. The family moved to Wrightstown where Don graduated from Wrightstown High School in 1942. Don served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in the Philippines initially during the Liberation and in 1945, landed in Sendai, Japan, and was assigned to Army Headquarters in Yamagata, Japan. He was discharged as a Sergeant in February of 1946. On Nov. 24, 1953, Donald married Bette Stephan in Wrightstown. Having served as a mail clerk and company clerk in the army, Don was primed for an eventual career in the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for 30 years and saw many changes. He started out sorting mail on the trains between Green Bay and either Chicago or Escanaba in the days when the small towns had their mail bag picked up by the train as it passed by! Over the years, he sorted mail on the HYPO 400 (Highway Post Office) and eventually finished out his career at the "Old" Green Bay Post Office on Walnut St. In his retirement, he worked for the Green Bay Press Gazette and for several years, with his wife Bette, managed two different resorts in Door County. Don loved bowling, golfing and a good game of Spinner, and was one of the fans who really did attend the 1967 Ice Bowl.

    Don is survived by his wife, Bette (Stephan); a son, Danny "Vinnie" Ribarchek (Missy Standard); a daughter, Jackie Nytes (Michael O'Brien); and grandsons, Sam Ribarchek and Patrick O'Brien; his brothers, Robert Ribarchek, Little Chute, Barney Ribarchek (Rita), Wrightstown; Dorothy Gibson, Burlington; and Gladys Good, Hazlehurst; and a sister in law, Carol Ribarchek. He will also be greatly missed by Cleo and Hilary Swiechowski, Menasha; Jerry Nytes, Alice Nytes, and Tom and Tess Roberts, Kaukauna; Judy Kuffel, Green Bay; and Phyllis Ambrosius, De Pere.
    Don was preceded in death by his brother, John "Steve" Ribarchek.
