    Cpl. James A. Corey Hurt in Accident While in Vietnam
    Kimberly -- A 20-year-old Kimberly Marine, who suffered sever head injuries when he fell from a truck in South Vietnam Feb. 8, died Saturday at U.S. Naval Hospital, Guam.
    Dead is Lance Cpl. James A. Corey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Corey, 210 John St.
    His parents learned of their son's death Saturday.
    The Jansen Funeral H ome, Kimberly, is handling the funeral arrangements, which still had not been completed Monday morning.
    Corey was in "critical" conditioon since he fell from the moving truck in Quang Tri Province. His prognosis was "poor to guarded," marin officials had reported to his parents following the mishap.
    He was treated at a station hospital in Da Nang before being transferred to the Naval Hospital in Guam.
    Corey, a 1965 graduate of Kimberly High School, joined the Marines in December, 1966, and went to Vietnam last August. His parents said he was assigned to an ammunitions detail.
    The victim's father was flown by the Marine Corps to Guam to be with Corey and will accompany the body, which is epected to arrive tonight.

  • Note: Henry L. Maas, Jr. died peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at the age of 88. Henry was born November 1, 1926 in the Town of Harrison, Calumet County to the late Henry and Emma (Engel) Maas. He was the fourth of five children and lived on the family farm until the age of 21 when he moved to Green Bay to help his oldest sister Esther with a newly started mink ranch and to begin his 42 year career at Northwest Engineering. On May 5, 1951, Henry married Adele Byrne at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in the Town of Freedom. They spent 40 loving, fun filled years together and raised four children.

    Henry lived life to the fullest with faith, family and friends - his foundations. He was actively involved with the Boy Scouts, Annunciation Parish, and the West High Booster Club. Henry never missed a family sporting event or recital. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting, fishing, Badger and Packer football, and team sports at all levels.

    Henry is survived by his four children: Patrick (Sharon) Maas, Mary Jo (Jeff) Walch, John (Lynn) Maas, all of Green Bay and Timothy (Pilar) Maas, San Anselmo, CA; seven grandchildren: Jennifer ( Dave) Stroud, Shannon (Randy) Metzler, Jacqueline Maas (fiancé, Dave Babler), Kelly (Ryan) Krueger, Megan (Matt) Early, Alyssa Maas (friend, Garrett Naze), and Henry Maas; seven great-grandchildren: Noah, Reagan, Josie, and Callie Stroud, Morgan and Anna Metzler, and Aubrey Early; sister, Virginia Lemke; and special friend, Bev Kiernan.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Adele; three sisters; daughter-in-law, Diane Maas; and grandson, Robert Henry Walch.

    Friends may call at Annunciation Catholic Church, 401 Gray St., Green Bay, from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, August 15. The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev.
