  • Note: Marilyn Sturm, 74, Neenah, died peacefully in her sleep, with her family at her side and after a short illness, Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010. Marilyn was born April 15, 1936, in Appleton, daughter of William and Margaret (Diermeier) Griesbach. She graduated from Hortonville High School. Marilyn married Alfred Sturm on May 29, 1956, and they shared 54 wonderful years together, raising six children.

    She was very active with the family business, Al Sturm Builders, from the time it was developed in 1955 until recently, helping out wherever she could. Religion and family were very important to Marilyn. She was a charter member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah. Marilyn was also a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary Post No. 7692, Freedom. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, canning and traveling, especially to their winter home in Zephyrhills, Fla., and their summer home in Door County. Marilyn was also a big Packers fan!

    Marilyn is survived by her husband, Alfred "Al"; children, Cheryl Jepsen, Honolulu, Hawaii; Nancy (Gary) Smith, Neenah; Vicki (Steve) Vandenberg, Appleton; David (Amy) Sturm and Jeff (Shelly) Sturm, both of Freedom; and Karen (Greg) Gitter, Greenville; grandchildren, Dan (Jean), Jenny, Matt, Eric, Ryan, Kari, Heather, Michael, Lainee, Mason, Karissa, Jacob, Nathan, Andy and Mariah; great-grandchildren, Marissa and Cayden; sisters and brothers, Germaine (Tom) Metko, Vernon (Jan) Griesbach, Verna Van Nuland, Bill (Pat) Griesbach, Clarence (Rose) Griesbach and Larry (Sandy) Griesbach; Al's family, Bernice Randerson, Rita Pritzl, George (Mary) Sturm, Helen Wittman, Patty (Glen) Griesbach, Elaine Kurey, Leon Ulman and Cyril Sturm.

    Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Sturm; in-laws, Loraine Ulman, Ted (Francis) Sturm, Clifford Ulman, Jerry Randerson, Rich Pritzl, Shorty Wittman and Leroy Kurey.

    Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger Street, with Fr. Charles Brooks officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be held at the church from 8:30 a.m. Monday until the time of the Mass.

    Marilyn's family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at Appleton Medical Center Intensive Care and Fr. Charles Brooks for their loving care and compassion.

  • Marriage: She and Roland H Smits were married on May 28, 1938 in Green Bay, Brown Co, Wisconsin.
  • Death: Violet F Klover died on October 25, 2014, at age 97.
  • Burial: She was buried in Shrine of Good Shepherd, Green Bay, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Violet F. "Vi" Smits, 97, Green Bay, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died Saturday, October 25, 2014, at the Jack and Engrid Meng Residence of Unity Hospice with family at her side.

    She was born October 15, 1917, in the Town of Brazeau, Oconto County to Otto and Mary (Lessor) Klover. On May 28, 1938, Violet married Roland Smits at St. Willebrord Catholic Church in Green Bay.

    She enjoyed bowling, dancing, and belonged to the Daughters of Isabella. Violet traveled throughout the U.S. and had fun visiting her friends and family.

    Violet is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Denis L'Empereur, Green Bay; Diane and Dennis Zazem, Holly Springs, NC; Kathy and Steve Amenson, Green Bay; nine grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland on May 14, 1986; her parents; eight brothers and six sisters.

    Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The Parish Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev.     Gerald R. Lemmens, 78, Neenah, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 26, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 15, 1937, in Little Chute, son of Henry and Lorraine (Rusch) Lemmens. Gerald married his high school sweetheart, Rosemarie Gerdin, June 13, 1957. He enjoyed going up north to their cottage on Big Horse Head Lake, Presque Isle, WI. He loved dogs and being in the outdoors; especially hunting and fishing. He was always tinkering or building something, an all around handyman.

    Gerald is survived by his wife of 58 years: Rosemarie; 2 children: Wendy (Paul) Berghuis, Brillion; and Rick (Michelle) Lemmens, Neenah; three grandchildren: Matthew and Derek Lemmens and Hannah Berghuis; a sister, Marlene Borchardt, Kimberly; many other relatives and friends.

    In addition to his parents, Gerald was also preceded in death by his son: Scott Lemmens and a brother Dennis Lemmens.

    Funeral services will be held at 8:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah, with Fr. Larry Seidl officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. Wednesday until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Neenah Animal Shelter.

    The family wishes to express a special thank you to the First responders with the Town of Menasha Fire Department.
