    Samson, Marvin H.
    Marvin H. Samson, 67, of Black Creek, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday afternoon, November 8, 2006. He was born on October 4, 1939, in Milwaukee, the son of the late George and Marcella (Wenninger) Samson. On June 11, 1960, he was united in marriage to Judy Henning in Black Creek. Marvin was an Army veteran and a member of the Black Creek American Legion, Duhm-Masch Post #332. He was employed at Miller Electric, retiring after 33 years. He was a member of the New London Fish and Game Club, the Outagamie County Conservation Club, Wisconsin Towns Association, where he served 12 years on the Board of Directors; and he served 8 years as Vice President, Supervisor for Outagamie County. Marvin also served two years as the Town of Black Creek Town Clerk and 30 years as the Town Chairman, he served 44 years on the Black Creek Rural Fire Department, a member of the Robert's Lake Association and Dairyland Snowmobile Club. He enjoyed snowmobiling, deer and partridge hunting, and time spent with family and friends on Robert's Lake. Marvin was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Black Creek; where he was active on various committees.

    He is survived by his wife, Judy; their children: Susan (Stanley) Jochman, Seymour; Connie (Timothy) Shannon, Nekoosa; George (Kerri) Samson, Nichols; grandchildren: Gabrielle, Saraphena, Michelle and Wyatt; two sisters: Eva (Bernard) Stephani, and Mary (Fred) Woodke, all of Seymour; his sisters-in-law: Shirley (Merlin) Heiden, Donna (Ralph) Schmidt, and Ella (Roy) Conant, all of Black Creek.

    He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Arvon Henning and a great-niece, Christy.

    Friends may call at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, 358 S. Main St., Seymour, on Friday, November 10, 2006, from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, November 11, 2006, at St. John's United Church of Christ, 101 S. Clark St., Black Creek, from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral services at 11 a.m., with Reverend Donald Baumann officiating. Military rites will follow at the church. She was born on Dec. 12, 1930, daughter of the late Carl and Emma (Weigelt) Ulman. On Oct. 3, 1953, she was united in marriage to Arvon Henning. He preceded her in death June 3, 1992. On Dec. 12, 1999, she was united in marriage to Roy Conant.

    Ella was a member of St John's United Church of Christ in Black Creek, and was active in the Choir, Council, Cemetery Committee and Women's Guild. She enjoyed polka music, her gardens and flowers, taking trips, cooking and dancing.

    Surviving Ella is her husband, Roy; children, Debbie Henning, Appleton; Don (Diane) Henning, Black Creek; and David (Lori) Henning, Seymour; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 11 step-children, many grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; sister, Ethel (Harvey) Beyer, brother, Ervin (Ginny) Ulman, both of Greenville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Shirley (Merlin) Heiden, Donna (Ralph) Schmidt and Judy Samson, all of Black Creek.

    Preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christy; infant brother; a sister, Esther (Henry) Groeschel; brother-in-law, Marvin Samson; and sister-in-law, Rosie Groeschel.

    A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010, at St John's United Church of Christ Black Creek, at 11 a.m. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of services with Pastor Don Baumann officiating.
