  • Burial: He was buried in Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum, Neenah, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Gerald "Jerry" M. Hauser, 83, Menasha, passed away on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton due to complications of pneumonia. On May 16, 1928, Jerry was born the son of the late Anton and Theresa (Koehler) Hauser. He was united in marriage to Helen Weiland Podrzay on Aug. 21, 1954, at St. Joseph Parish in Appleton. Jerry spent four years in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He was employed at Marathon Corp. and American Can Co. for 42 years and retired in 1988. In his retirement, Jerry and Helen spent many happy summers at Loon Lake in Shawano. They would play card games, especially Sheepshead with their family and friends. Jerry also did a lot of volunteer work with the Visiting Nurses Association and tutored second grade students in reading and math. He also enjoyed singing and was a member of the Y-Nots and the St. Paul Villa Choir. Jerry loved to read and enjoyed cheering on the Chicago Cubs. Jerry always put others first and had great pride in being a grandfather.

    Jerry will be missed by his loving children, Cynthia (Ken) Priest, Mary (Terry) Cochran, Tony (Jane) Hauser, and Jon (Noelle) Hauser; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

    He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Porto and Helene Hauser.

    A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at St. Paul Villa Chapel, 316 E. 14th Street, Kaukauna. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service at the chapel. Entombment will take place at Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Neenah. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial will be established.

    Stephani, James A. James A. Stephani, age 49, died unexpectedly, Monday evening, January 15, 2007. He was born June 13, 1957, to the late Raymond M. and Mary A. (Hooyman) Stephani, in Freedom, where he was a resident all of his life. Jim graduated from Freedom High School in 1975 and had been employed by Appleton Papers for 31 years. He was an avid fisherman and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and the Appleton Papers Quarter Century Club.

    He is survived by his four children: Mary Stephani, a student at Marquette University, Milwaukee; Zachary Stephani, a student at University of Wisconsin-Milwakee; Emily Stephani, Appleton; Caitlin Stephani, Appleton; two brothers: Michael (Janice) Ste phani, DePere; Frank (Sally) Stephani, Appleton; four sisters: Mary Ellen Hofacker, Freedom; Rosanne Hofacker, Appleton; Cathy (Rich) Green, Green Bay; and his twin sister, Ann (Rick) Weyenberg, Freedom.

    The funeral liturgy for James will be held at 12 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2007, at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, N4088 County Trunk E, Freedom, with Father Dave Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, and on Friday, at the church from 11 a.m., until the time of the mass. There will be a parish prayer and scripture service at 7 p.m., Thursday. A memorial fund is being established.

  • Note: Rosanne (Stephani) Hofacker, age 66, of Appleton, WI died unexpectedly Wednesday February 3, 2016. She was born in Green Bay, WI to the late Raymond and Mary (Hooyman) Stephani on May 5, 1949. Rosanne graduated from Freedom High School in 1967. She married Anthony Hofacker.

    Rosanne's greatest joy was taking care of her family and her grandchildren. She loved cooking and paid great attention to detail, especially when talking about her grandchildren. She was employed by Cleanpower for 15 years and babysat her grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Mike and Jim.

    Rosanne was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her daughter Jodie (Mike) Schmitt and their children Sydney, Sadie, and Sophia; her son Jason (Cindy) Hofacker and their daughter Nicole; and her sons Jeremy Hofacker, Chad Hofacker, and Anthony Hofacker II.

    She is further survived by her sister Mary Ellen Hofacker and family, her brother Frank (Sally) Stephani and family, her sisters Cathy (Rich) Green and family, Ann (Rick) Weyenberg and family, her sister-in-law Janice (Weyers) Stephani and family, and the family of Jim Stephani.

    She is further survived by her brother-in-law Francis (Linda DeBruin) Hofacker family (Francis deceased); John "Red" (Delores) Hofacker family (John & Delores deceased); William (Vera) Hofacker Jr. family (William deceased); Joe (Marilyn Nielsen) Hofacker family (Joe & Marilyn deceased); Mary (Ed) Hawley (deceased); Ann Hofacker (deceased); Catherine (Howard) Belonger family (Catherine and Howard deceased); Henry and Geraldine Hofacker family (Henry deceased); Nicholas (Cheryl) Hofacker family (Nicholas deceased); Margaret (Bob) Parker family (Margaret and Bob deceased); and Paul Hofacker family.

    In addition to the above listed names, Rosanne was preceded in death by a nephew Bud Hofacker; niece Kristine Hofacker; great niece Hope Hofacker.

    Visitation will take place Monday, February 8, 2016 from 4:00pm to 7:30 pm with parish prayer service at 7:30 pm St Edward Catholic Church N2926 State Road 47 Appleton, WI 54913. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at St Edward Catholic Church from 10:00am to 11:00am with a mass of Christian burial at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established for Rosanne Hofacker.



    Mom (Grandmother) you were a very special and caring person. You gave of yourself unselfishly of the many things you have done. We were truly blessed to have you as our Mother and Grandmother. We love you and we will miss you.
