    Krueger, Glenn O. Glenn O. Krueger, Neenah, age 82, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 8, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Glenn was born on January 29, 1924, in Menasha, son of the late Fred and Elizabeth (Windisch) Krueger. He married Patricia Blank on June 21, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Neenah. Glenn graduated from Menasha High School in 1943 and entered the Army Air Force. He served in the Pacific with the "Red Raiders" as staff sergeant until 1945. He was employed by Lakeview Mill for over 30 years.

    Glenn was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Neenah. He enjoyed fishing, golf, movies, television, and gambling.

    Survivors include his wife Patricia; two sons: James G. (Tina) Krueger, Oshkosh; Peter J. (Susan) Krueger, Neenah; two grandchildren, Alyssa and Megan; a sister, Elaine (Merlin) Cosgrove, Neenah; three brothers: Leslie, FL; Laverne (Joan), FL; and Lynus (Marcie), Menasha; two brothers-in-law: Irving Buss, Menasha; and Knight (Betty) Blank, Fond du Lac.

    He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Krueger; and a sister, Lois Buss.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2006, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 407 Oak Street, Neenah, with Rev. Tony McKenzie officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2006, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, and again on Monday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.

  • Note: Elaine Anne (Krueger) Cosgrove passed away peacefully on November 29, 2015, at the age of 89, after suffering with extreme dementia for several years. Elaine was born in Menasha on April 28, 1926 to Fred and Elizabeth (Windisch) Krueger. Following graduation from Menasha High School, she was employed by the George Banta Co. where she met and later married Merlin Cosgrove on May 17, 1947. Together, they raised a daughter, Connie (Cosgrove) Schroeder and son, Ron Cosgrove.

    Elaine was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Neenah/Menasha where she was employed as the church secretary for many years while raising her family. She later served as Financial Secretary for the church for over 26 years. She also served as the Treasurer and Registrar of the Methodist Nursery School for over 20 years. Elaine was an active member of United Methodist Women and served as their Treasurer for 9 years. She and Merlin were members of the church's Asbury Couples Club where they gathered with many of their closest friends. Elaine was also a long-time member of the church choir.

    Elaine served for several years on the Banta Credit Union (Prospera) Board of Directors.

    The Boys' and Girls' Brigade of Neenah/Menasha employed Elaine for 13 years as their Bookkeeper. After her retirement, she and Merlin continued to volunteer at the Brigade in the office and with Christmas Giving.

    Elaine and Merlin volunteered as drivers for Meals on Wheels for many years as a way of paying forward to their community.

    Elaine's interests and hobbies were many. She was an avid bowler with several high game accomplishments. She was also an active golfer who achieved a hole-in-one. She was an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed sewing and quilting. She relaxed with knitting and reading.

    Elaine and Merlin enjoyed traveling and camping while their family grew up. In their later years, they took several bus tour trips to various U.S. destinations.

    Elaine is survived by her daughter and son, Connie (Glenn) Schroeder of Neenah and Ron Cosgrove (Dawn Robinson, special friend) of Winchester; grandsons Chad Schroeder of Neenah and Justin Cosgrove of Michigan; granddaughters Kara (Schroeder) (Brian) White of Menomonee Falls, Tresa (Cosgrove) (Mac) Blackburn of Medford, and Kimberly Cosgrove (Dylan Gebert) of Owen. Elaine is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, Jack and Anna White, Autumn Blackburn, and Kaylee and Jaxson Gebert. Also surviving Elaine are three sisters-in-law, Marcella (Lynus) Krueger, Patricia (Glenn) Krueger and Joan (Don) Krueger. Elaine also has many surviving nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Preceding Elaine in death were her husband Merlin; parents Fred and Elizabeth Krueger; brothers Leslie, Lynus, Glenn, Verne (Don), Robert and her sister and brother-in-law Lois and Irving Buss.

    Following Elaine's wishes a Memorial Service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah for the immediate family and relatives only. There will be no visitation. Elaine wished for no flowers, please, but rather that any memorial expressions are sent as donations to the Boys' and Girls' Brigade of Neenah/Menasha or First United Methodist Church of Neenah/Menasha.

  • Note: Merlin T. Cosgrove, of Neenah, age 93, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011, at the Valley VNA. He was born April 25, 1918, in R.F.D. Redgranite, WI, son of the late John and Luella (Tice) Cosgrove. Merlin graduated from Berlin High School in 1936. He worked several years for Russell Glove Co. and Berlin Tanning & Mfg. Co. plus one season on the Great Lakes. Merlin served over 3 years in the Army Air Corps during WWII, mostly in the South Pacific area. On May 17, 1947, he married Elaine Krueger of Menasha and they had two children.

    He was employed at Geo. Banta Co - Menasha for over 37 years and was a member of their 25 Year Club. He was also Secretary/Treasurer of the Banta Benefit Assoc. for 25 years and was further involved with the Banta Credit Union and Shop Council. After retirement, he worked part-time for Elwers' Pharmacy and Sterling Gardens Florist - Neenah in addition to volunteering with the Banta Good Samaritan Group and the Boys' and Girls' Brigade. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church- Neenah/Menasha and its Asbury Club and sang in the choir and served as Head Usher for a number of years. He was a member of the Neenah-Menasha Retired Men's Club, and also a member of the Fox Valley Traffic Club and was its Secretary for several years. Merlin enjoyed travelling, walking, biking, reading, bowling and all spectator sports.

    Survivors include: wife - Elaine; daughter - Connie (Glenn) Schroeder (of Neenah); son - Ronald (Darlene) Cosgrove (of Neenah); Nephew - Howard (Susan) Cosgrove and Family (of New Glarus, WI); niece - Kathy (Dan) Bartkowiak and Family (of Wooster, Ohio); grandsons - Chad Schroeder (of Neenah); Justin Cosgrove (from Michigan); Hunter Wagner (of Neenah); granddaughters - Kara (Brian) White (of Wauwatosa); Tresa (Mac) Blackburn (of Medford); Kimberly Cosgrove (of Medford); great-grandson-Jackson White (of Wauwatosa); brother-in-law- Leslie Krueger (from Florida); sisters-in-law - Marcie Krueger (of Menasha); Pat Krueger (of Neenah); Joan Krueger (from Florida), and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Merlin was preceded in death by his sisters: Evelyn Cosgrove Peck (of Berlin) and Lois Cosgrove (of Berlin); brother and sister-in-law: Donald and Ethel (O'Connell) Cosgrove (of Madison); brothers-in-law: Lynus Krueger (of Menasha), Glenn Krueger (of Neenah), Robert Krueger (of Menasha), Irving Buss (of Menasha); and one sister-in-law: Lois Buss (of Menasha).

    A memorial service will be held for the immediate family and relatives only at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the First United Methodist Church - Neenah/Menasha.

    The family would like to thank the staff at Valley VNA Assisted Living, Island Shores Assisted Living and Affinity Hospice for the care given to Merlin.

    Krueger, Lynus Lynus Krueger, age 84, Menasha, passed away peacefully at home on March 7, 2007. He was born on November 18, 1922. He was the son of Fred Krueger and Elizabeth (Windisch) Krueger. On March 15, 1947, he was united in marriage to Marcella "Marcy" Peterson in Dubuque, Iowa. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary 8 days after his passing. Lynus was a WWII veteran and served 3 years in the South Pacific. He worked at Kimberly Clark's Lakeview mill for 33 years before retiring in 1983. During his 25 years of retirement, he was an avid golfer and bowler.

    Lynie will be deeply missed by his wife, Marcy Krueger, his son Gary (Debby) Wausau, son Dan (Jan) Port Washington, three grandchildren; Lauri (Ryan) Reed, Neenah, Kimberly Krueger, Wausau and Lindsay Krueger, Vail, Co., and three great-grandchildren; Grace, Carson and Sophia Reed, Neenah. Other surviving members include brother Leslie Krueger, Wildwood, FL, and friend Rose, his sister Elaine (Merlin) Cosgrove, Neenah, brother, Don (Joan) Krueger, Ft. Meyers, FL, and sister-in-law Ardis Peterson, brother-in-law Irv Buss, sister-in-law Pat Krueger, numerous nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his son Charles who was killed in war in Vietnam in 1967, his brother Robert Krueger, sister Lois Buss and brother Glenn Krueger.

    Funeral services for Lynie will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2007, at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 473 7th St., Menasha. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and followed by the service at 11 a.m.

    In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a memorial fund for St. Timothy Church.

    Buss, Irving R.

    Irving Buss, 86, Menasha, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010. He was born October 12, 1923, in Menasha, son of the late Richard and Lilly (Steltzer) Buss. On June 28, 1947, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Appleton, he was united in marriage to Lois Krueger and she preceded him in death January 24, 2006. Irving served his country from 1943 to 1946 in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was stationed in North Africa, China, Burma and India and felt the Army gave him a complete trip around the world. Irving was employed at the George Banta Publishing Company from 1941 until his retirement in 1986. He was a lifelong resident of the Town of Menasha. Irv was devoted to his church, family, his grandchildren and great -grandchildren. He enjoyed all sports and card and domino games with family and friends.

    Irving and Lois were blessed with four children who now survive them: Carol (Donald) Steffin, Darboy; Peggy (James) Marks, Naples, FL; Thomas (Carol) Buss, Neenah; Jonathan (Joan) Buss, Cumming, GA; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2010, at Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church, 829 Appleton Rd., Menasha, with Rev. Samuel Degner officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday at the church until the time of the service.
