    A young rural Menasha cyclist, a Green Bay pedestrian and a Green Bay motorist died Thursday night as a result of separate traffic accidents.
    Dead are:
    Daniel Schaumann, 12, son of Mrs. and Mrs. Roy Schaumann, route 1, Menasha.
    John Hondlen, 68, Green Bay
    William LaLazerne, 76, Green Bay.
    Their deaths, coupled with one early Thursday, raised the Wisconsin traffic toll for te year to 855, compared with 788 at this time a year ago.
    The Schaumann boy was bicycling toward his home on U.S. 10-State 114 about 1 1/4 miles east of Waverly Corners shortly before 6 p.m. when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by Robert J. Grogan, 33, Stockbridge.
    Turned Around
    The bicycle ws jammed under the truck frame and was dragged for some three miles before dropping off when Grogan turned the vehiicle around to return to the scene, according to Calumet County Coroner LeRoy Hughes.

  • Death: He died on July 17, 2011, at age 60, in Hot Springs, Garland Co, Arkansas.
  • Note: Leslie Joseph Fuszard, 60, of Hot Springs died Sunday, July 17, 2011. Les was a National Honor Student in High School where he won the Wisconsin Voice of Democracy contest. He competed in the National contest in Washington DC and graduated from University of Wisconsin. Leslie served in the Army Nuclear Battalion in Germany during the Cold War. He worked at Madison Electric Company which had Nuclear Generators.

    He moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he worked several years at Blue Cross Blue Shield main office. After visiting his father in Hot Springs moved there in 2006.

    Survivors include his father, Stuart Fuszard of Hot Springs and one sister, Judy Ludvigsen of Appleton, Wisconsin.

  • Note: Margaret "Marge" Ellen Jahnke, 83, De Pere, was reunited with her true love, Jack, on February 25, 2016. Marge passed away peacefully in her home at Age Well Center for Life Enrichment surrounded by her family. She was born March 14, 1932 in Neenah, Wisconsin to Thomas and Florence (Simon) Verbrick. Marge was united in marriage to John R. Jahnke May 31, 1958. He preceded her in death on February 3, 2011. Together they raised four children, Donna Jahnke (Madison), Deb (Gary) Winters (Green Bay), Tim (Sharla) Jahnke (Roswell, GA) and Ellen (Kate Flynn) Jahnke, (Rice, MN).

    Marge graduated from St. Mary High School in Menasha, WI, class of 1950 and spent most of her adult life employed by Women's Health Specialists in Appleton, WI. She and Jack were hard working people and took pride in helping their children attain their higher education goals. They set the bar high for grandparents everywhere, attending every soccer game and tennis match, through the collegiate level and even traveled to Pennsylvania and Georgia for wrestling matches and football games. They took the grandchildren camping and on trips to Washington DC and St. Louis. We will all remember "big breakfast" at Grandma and Grandpa's house before Packer games, with Grandma's strawberry jam and her homemade cinnamon rolls, and playing Grandma's unnamed card game, at which she shamelessly cheated.

    She is survived by her children, five grandchildren, Adam (Lauren) Winters, Jacob (Marie) Jahnke, Andrew (Amanda) Winters, Eric (Julie) Jahnke and Amanda (fiancé Cory Inman) Winters and five great grandchildren, Ethan and Alexis Winters, Jude Jahnke, and Ava and Ella Winters, one sister, Helen (Clarence) Lotzer, sister-in-law Shirley Verbrick, a special niece Jennifer (Matt)Smith and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, her parents, brothers Tom, Bob and Donald Verbrick, sisters-in-law Mildred Verbrick and Barbara Verbrick, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Marge and Arvid Sorvik.

    Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere from 2:00 - 5:00PM Sunday, February 28, 2016. Visitation will continue after 3:30PM on Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, 1305 Lourdes Ave. De Pere. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:00PM with Fr. Tim Shillcox O.Praem officiating.

    Marge's family would like to extend their thanks to the staffs of Unity Hospice and Age Well for their care and kindness, to Angela, her private care giver for her support and companionship, to all the ladies at Classic Dimensions in De Pere for their friendship through the years and her niece Carol for her unfailing dedication.

  • Death: John R Jahnke died on February 3, 2011, at age 79.
  • Burial: He was buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery, DePere, Wisconsin.
  • Note: John "Jack" R. Jahnke, 79, of De Pere, passed peacefully on Thursday February 3, 2011 at the Jack and Engrid Meng Residence, Ledgeview, with his family at his side after a long battle with kidney disease. A resident of De Pere for the past 45 years, Jack was born in Pensaukee and also lived in Green Bay. Jack and his wife of 52 years, Margaret E. Jahnke (Verbrick), lovingly raised four children, Donna Jahnke (Madison), Debra Winters (Green Bay), Tim Jahnke (Chicago) and Ellen Jahnke (Shoreview, MN).
    Jack was born on October 15, 1931 to John and Elinor (Hintz) Jahnke. He graduated from Oconto High School, Class of 1949. He was a proud member of the National Guard, Company C, 32nd Division for nine years. Jack worked for over 35 years for the State of Wisconsin, Dept of Transportation, retiring in 1992.
    Jack is survived by his wife, Margaret, and his children, Donna, Deb (Gary), Tim (Sharla) and Ellen (Kate Flynn). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Adam (Lauren) Winters and their soon to be born son, Andrew (Amanda) Winters, Amanda Winters, Jacob Jahnke and Eric Jahnke. Additional family members include John (Marie) Sorvik, Carol Sorvik, Brian (Lori) Sorvik, Helen and Clarence Lotzer and special niece Jennifer Lotzer, Shirley Verbrick, Millie Verbrick, numerous additional nieces, nephews, cousins and two special cats, Toby and Tyler. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Margaret Sorvik, and brother-in-law, Arvid Sorvik. Also, brothers-in-law, Thomas Verbrick, Robert Verbrick, Donald Verbrick, and sister-in-law Barbara Verbrick.
    He will be remembered by numerous friends, neighbors and family as a kind, caring and helpful man, always willing to assist those around him who had a need. His family will remember him as a gentle giant of a man who took care of them in every way possible. He will be missed, always remembered and loved.
    Family and friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Avenue and Suburban Drive, De Pere from 9:00 am to noon on Thursday February 10, 2011.
