  • Note: Marcella Tennessen, age 96, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at a local nursing home. Marcella was born in Johnsburg, Wisconsin on February 12, 1911, daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (Maloney) Wollersheim. As a young woman, she began working for her uncle, Dr. Peter Wollersheim in Forest Junction. It was in the doctor’s office that she me her future husband, Leonard Willems. She married Leonard in the early 1930’s, and with him raised a family. He passed away in 1967. Later, she married Ervin Tennessen from Hollandtown; Erv preceded Marcella in death in 1993. Over the years, Marcella worked at the White Clover Dairy, Geenen’s Store, and later became the first married woman to work at Thilmany’s. In her earlier years, Marcella enjoyed sewing and was a 4-H Instructor. She also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends.


    She is survived by two sons: Red (Janis “Jin”) Willems of Askeaton and Ron (Cheryl) Willems of West Palm Beach Florida; a step-daughter: Dolores Neuser of Hilbert; eight grandchildren: Tammy (Dave) Quinzer, Troy Willems, Terri (Adam) Hansen, Cindy (Dave) Huebner, Rick (Margy) Miller, Kevin Miller, Jeff Miller, and Kathy (Steve) O’Bright; her grandchildren are David, Brooke, and Steven Quinzer; Courtney Willems, Brittany Miller, and Andrew and Becca O’Bright; two step-grandchildren: Jayna and Jeni Vanden Heuvel; a sister: Ermina Roegner of Appleton. Marcella was preceded in death by her husbands, a daughter Elaine (Bob) Miller, brothers Edwin (Delores) Wollersheim and Alvin Wollersheim, and a brother-in-law Henry Roegner.


    The funeral liturgy for Marcella will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH – HOLLANDTOWN SITE, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday morning form 9:00 AM until the hour of the service.

    Age 58,. passed away early Saturday morning after a long 'illness. She was born July 7. 1911 in the .Town of Buchanan and lived most of her life in I Hollandtown, Brown County. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society of St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown. Survivors are her husband, Ervin; two daughters, Mrs. Elliot (Mary) Maile, Brillion; Mrs. Francis (Dolores), Neuser, Hilbert; three brothers, Joseph Loderbauer and John, Rt. 3, Kaukauna; Arthur, Rt. 1, Menasha; one granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown with interment in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Sunday. The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. sunday evening. The Wake Service will be at 8 p.m. Sunday evening.

  • Note: Dolores Katherine Neuser, age 71, of Hilbert, died on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was born March 16, 1945 in Kaukauna, daughter of the late Ervin & Mary (Loderbauer) Tennessen. She married Francis Neuser on May 11, 1965 at St. Francis Parish in Hollandtown.

    During the 51 years the couple spent in Hilbert, Dolores remained a faithful member of St. Mary Parish in Hilbert where she volunteered whenever and wherever she could. She also worked for a time in the deli at the Food Mart in Hilbert and sold Watkins Products throughout the area.

    Dolores' passion over the last years were her many crafts. She crocheted numerous lap robes for veterans and sewed pillows, place mats, pillowcases and other items which she gave away to numerous family and friends. She also enjoyed reading her numerous cookbooks even after she was physically unable to cook and bake anymore.

    With a kind and concerning spirit, Dolores always looked to help others in their time of need. She frequently reached out to people to lift their spirit in times of distress and always looked for ways to care for people in need.

    Survivors include her husband: Francis; her daughter: Nancy; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Church (Lois) Neuser, Agnes Baer, Bub Lieffort; and her very special cousins: Chuck (Julie) Loderbauer, Joan (Dave) McCormick and Judy (Karl) Korth. She is further survived by other cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who meant the world to her.

    Dolores was preceded in death by her parents: Ervin & Mary Tennessen; a sister: Mary Maile; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Helen Scheuer, Margaret (Jim) Kleiber, Marion (Lee) Counard & Gladys Lieffort.

    Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at St Mary Catholic Church (108 S. 6th St.) in Hilbert with the Rev. Michael Betley officiating and Dcn. Steve Vande Hey assisting. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at the Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Chapel. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 am until 10:45 am on Saturday, January 7, 2017.

    Francis and Nancy would like to thank the ICU unit nurses and Dr. Dogra at St. Elizabeth Hospital who made her last moments so comfortable and peaceful.

She married Edward Hoffman May 28, 1931, and he preceded her in death June 15, 1993, having shared 62 years together.
