  • Birth: John Nicholas Reynolds was born on April 30, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York.
  • Marriage: He and Marcella Ann Binder were married on August 22, 1946 in Oshkosh, Winnebago Co, Wisconsin.
  • Death: John Nicholas Reynolds died on June 5, 1982, at age 56, in Milwaukee, Milwaukee Co, Wisconsin.
  • Note: My great-grandfather, John Reynolds, was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. When he was seventeen, he left home to join the Army and avoid the gangs. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He fought in Germany, where he was shot up his right leg and arm, and was captured. My great-grandfather was a Prisoner of War for two years and listed as Missing in Action, presumed dead. He was eighteen years old when it happened. Because he was a prisoner, he was not taken care of very well and had to have his right leg amputated. He also lost the use of his right arm and had to learn to be left-handed. Once he was liberated, he went to a Veteran's hospital for another year. There, he met my great-grandmother, Marcella Binder. She was his nurse, and was from Oshkosh, Wisconsin. They got married and lived in Brooklyn. After a few years they moved to Wisconsin and lived in Oshkosh, and Milwaukee. They raised eight children together and had twenty grand children.
