  • Note: Harry L. Hurst, Kaukauna, age 90, died on Friday January 2, 2015 at Parkside Care Center. He was born September 30, 1924 in Little Chute, son of the late Bernard and Mary (Jansen) Hurst. The 3rd born in a family of seven, Harry graduated from St. John High School in Little Chute in 1942 and St. Norbert's Collage in 1952 where he went under the G.I. Bill. On October 16, 1954 Harry married Dolores Elsner. The couple lived in Kaukauna their entire married lives. Harry served in the U.S. Army in WWII and fought in Belgium and Germany, including the Battle of the Bulge. On his return home he played for the Little Chute Semi-pro football team, the Flying Dutchmen. Harry worked for many different companies. He volunteered at 1000 Island Environmental Center and built many bird houses, he also volunteered at the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry.

    Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dolores; 2 sisters: Audrey (Gerald) Driessen, Little Chute and Jeanette (Tom) Vandehey, Kimberly; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hurst, Appleton; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is further survived by his wife's family: Carmen Elsner, Little Chute, Denise Koepke, Abilene, TX, and Norma Elsner, Shawano.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother-in-law: Willis and Nanna Elsner, brothers, Cletus (Gertrude), Kenneth ("Tiny"), Phillip, Floyd (Noreen and Cordell), a nephew, Steve Vandehey; in-laws: Lou Ellen Elsner and Willis Elsner Jr.

    Mass of Christian Burial for Harry will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH at ST. Aloysius Church, 2401 Main Ave., Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Friends will be received at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Kaukauna Area Catholic School System, 1000 Island Environmental Center or The Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry.     Age 71, passed away in Appleton on Sunday, September 11, 2005. She was born in White Lake, WI on April 2, 1934, daughter of the late Flavus and Emma (Fairchild) Tordoer. Omeida graduated from Appleton High School in 1952. She lived in Houston during the 80’s and 90’s and enjoyed catering for a specialty grocery market. She was an excellent cook and made the holidays very special. Knitting, embroidering, watching the Packers, and watching her grandchildren playing high school sports were among her favorite hobbies.

    Omeida is survived by her children: Lisa Tordoer of Appleton and Craig Tordoer of Plymouth; grandchildren: Michelle and Troy Tordoer, both of Menasha; brothers: Jack (Mary) Fairchild and Ronnie (Mary Lou) Fairchild; sisters: Peggy Holcomb and Judy Kaddatz. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Omeida is preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Mary Perrault and Wanda Fairchild; and a very special friend, Doris Grosskopf.

    The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2005, at MEMORIAL PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 803 East College Avenue, Appleton, with Rev. Dr. Charles Valenti-Hein officiating. Friends will be received at the Wichmann Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park.

    A memorial fund in Omeida’s name is being established.

  • Note: BROCK, Robert ROBERT JAMES "BOB" BROCK Bob Brock, 69, of Hayesville, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2013 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Born on June 30, 1943 in Appleton, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Elmer and Dorothy Brock and was preceded in death by his sister Linda Brock Pike. A graduate of Appleton High School West in 1961, he attended the University of Wisconsin. Within his 35-year career that resulted in twelve US patents, he contributed to building Kimberly-Clark's global Professional Healthcare business and helped make HUGGIES diapers and PULLUPS training pants leaders in their categories. Bob was inducted into the Nonwovens Hall of Fame and received the Lifetime Technical Achievement Award from INDA in 2001. In 2002, Bob retired as Vice President of Research and Development for Kimberly-Clark to the mountains and beautiful Lake Chatuge where he enjoyed his life of fishing, hunting, and traveling. He became active with the Clay County Community Revitalization Association, which led to his involvement with the restoration of the Historic Clay County Courthouse. Surviving are his wife and best friend of 47 years, Carleen Teske Brock; a daughter, Lisa Cushman and husband Rob of Dalton, Georgia; a son, Andrew and wife Linda Leigh Brock of Alpharetta, Georgia; a sister, Betty Remter of Appleton; 2 grandsons, Wil and Wyatt Cushman of Dalton; and three nephews. A memorial to celebrate Bob's life will be held on Sunday, January 20 at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia.   • Note: Jerome B. Brockman, of Darboy, age 88, had his prayers answered on Monday, August 13, 2012 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. He was born on June 25, 1924, in Little Chute, the son of the late Joseph and Minnie (Lamers) Brockman. On September 30, 1953, Jerome married Marie Van Mun at Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly. He retired from Oscar Boldt Construction. Jerome volunteered for years at the Kimberly Recreation Association. Jerome spent many hours helping make quilts for the Holy Spirit Missions. He was a Boy Scout Leader when his sons were growing up.

    Jerome is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marie Brockman; daughter, Donna (Mark) Benotch; sons: Bob (Pam), Jim (Cheryl), and Dan Brockman; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother, Maurice (Ethel) Brockman; sisters-in-law: Ethel Brockman, Germaine Brockman, and Louise Albrecht. He is also survived by Marie's brothers: John (JoAnn), Mike (Joan), and Jim (Joan) Van Mun; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Jerome was preceded in death by his brothers: Les, Laurence, Vilas, and Gordon (Pat) Brockman; sister-in-law: Marilyn Brockman; brothers-in-law: Arnie Albrecht and Wally (Cebbie) Van Mun.

    The funeral liturgy for Jerome will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Holy Spirit/Holy Name Church, 620 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly. Fr. David Beaudry will be officiating. Inurnment will take place at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Little Chute. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of mass.     Peeters, H. Donald "Fritz" H. Donald (Fritz) Peeters, age 82, died October 17, 2007, in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born in Little Chute, June 22, 1925, and was a Navy veteran from World War II.

    Fritz is survived by his wife, Mary; three daughters and three granddaughters, three brothers: James, Little Chute; Gerald, Neenah; Peter, Portage, MI; and a sister, Doris Heiss, Appleton.

    Passed away on October 17, 2007 at Alamo Nursing Home. Henry was born on June 22, 1925 in Little Chute, WI the son of Richard and Anne (Wyenburg) Peeters. He was a Veteran having served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater on the U.S.S. Kadashan Bay where he was a Signalman and was awarded many honors. Henry was a scheduler at Allied Paper, retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Augustine Cathedral. Henry was preceded in death by four brothers, Fr. Tom, Fr. Ambrose, Carl and Robert Peeters and a sister, Margaret Ryder. Henry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary (Barone) whom he married April 24, 1954; three daughters, Jean Long, Mary Traxler and Laurie Peeters all of Otsego; three grand daughters, Jessica Martin, Anne Farnsworth and Alexis Ware; two great-grand daughters, Alison and Alayna Martin; four siblings, Jim (Ida) Peeters of Little Chute, WI; Jerry (Joann) Peeters of Neenah, WI; Peter (Agnes) Peeters of Portage, MI and Doris Heiss of Appleton, WI and several nieces and nephews.
