    Retzlaff, Izabella Cecilya Adrianna

    Age 2, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2006, in Appleton. Her life was barely in bloom and for the briefest moment she was in our lives, she was the most fragrant darling flower. Izabella and her infectious smile will be truly missed. She was born in Fond du Lac on October 6, 2003, to Kelly and Angela (Schommer) Retzlaff.

    She is survived by two brothers, Patrick and Gaberiel; one sister, Kaitlynn; paternal grandparents: Steve (Melanie) Schommer, Green Bay, and Patricia Baeten, Appleton. She is further survived by four uncles: Craig Schommer (special friend Leah Pagel), Eric Schommer, Robert Slade, Alvin Schommer; two aunts: Julie Schommer and Jamie Slade; maternal great-grandparents: Henry and Marcy Seidl, Marvin and Helen Baeten, Jim and Ione Vicenzi; maternal great-great-grandmother, Beatrice Helein.

    Izabella was preceded in death by a brother, Tristan; a paternal grandmother, Barbara Retzlaff; and a maternal great-grandfather, John Schommer.

    Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2006, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2330 E. Calumet St., Appleton. Services will be held at 7 p.m. with Pastor Roger K. McQuistion officiating.
    In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund is being established.

  • Birth: Alvin Nicholas Schommer was born circa 1979.
  • Death: He died on August 14, 2011.
  • Note: Alvin Nicholas Schommer (32) beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and friend died August 14th of esophageal cancer. Alvin brought joy into the lives of all of us and will be dearly missed. Alvin was a graduate of Janet Berry Elementary and Appleton East High School ('98). He resided at Pearl House in Neenah and worked at Lakeside Packaging for twelve years.

    Alvin is survived by his loving parents Carol Mucha and Steve (Melanie) Shommer, brother, best buddy and life- long roommate Chad Simonson, amazing siblings Eric, Angela (Jeff), Craig (Leah) and Julie Schommer, devoted grandmothers Ruth Mucha and Marcella Seidl, caring aunts and uncles Sharon Mucha, Richard Mucha, Dwight (Barb) Ristow, Sandy (Larry) Russel, Dan (Mary) Schommer, Bonnie (Frank) Dennee, Jackie (Dan) Sturm, Kevin (Sue) Schommer, Gary (Polly) Schommer, Karla (Earl) Dennee, Tom (Lisa) Schommer, Amy (Greg) Schoettler, many cousins, nieces and nephews, good friend and neighbor Jeff, compassionate friend Ivy Evrard and family, and many others.

    Alvin was lovingly cared for by many people from Productive Living Systems until he returned home for his final months. Our heartfelt thanks especially to Tammy Darnick and Kari Ash who were with Alvin through his many procedures and to Jenny, Katie, Katie, Kelly, Andre'a, Mary, Steve and everyone else for your tenderness and love for Alvin. You all made it possible for him to live a fulfilling, independent adult life. Alvin had a passion for catching prize winning fish in the Fishing has No Boundaries program, playing baseball in the Neenah Discovery League, attending the Lifeteen mass at St. Raphael, working at Lakeside Packaging and participating in the many leisure activities offered through the Arc of the Fox Cities. In lieu of flowers, donations to any of the above organizations that enriched Alvin's life would be appreciated.

    Visitation will be on Wednesday August 17th from 9:00-10:00 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Dr., Oshkosh followed by Mass of Christian Burial with Fr. Doug LeCaptain officiating. Burial will take place that afternoon at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Milwaukee.

    Navarino
    Raymond F. Echtner, age 65, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2010 in Shawano, following a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease.
    He was born February 4, 1945 son of Fern (Dingeldein) Echtner and the late Marvin Echtner. On October 18, 1969 he was united in marriage to Jacqueline Spice in the Township of Cicero.
    Ray was a US MarineVeitnam Veteran and a member of the Bonduel American Legion. He was employed with the City of Appleton. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, time spent in the woods, and maple syruping. Ray also enjoyed his trips to the EAA. He was with the Cherry Hill Real Bearded Santa’s. Ray was a member of the Navarino Volunteer Fire Department.
    Survivors include his wife Jackie, his sons, Raymond Michael (Kathy) Echtner, Lake St. Louis, MO; Brian (fiancée Amie) Echtner, Milwaukee; two grandchildren, Jackson and Jordan; his mother Fern Echtner, Navarino; one brother Robert (Donna) Echtner, Chicago; one sister, Jane (Michael) Schultz, Navarino; nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 from 4 PM until 8 PM. Visitation will continue at Ascension Lutheran Church, W6106 Navarino Road, Navarino on Thursday, June 3, 2010 from 9:30 AM until funeral services at 11 AM with Pastor Gregory Sorenson officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery in the Township of Lessor. Military rites to follow by the Bonduel American Legion. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com.
