    Age 57, died Thursday, January 14, 1999, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was born May 5, 1941, in Kaukauna, daughter of the late James and Nellie [Fueller] Knott. On November 19, 1981 she married Merlin Robert Boettcher in Chilton. Carol worked at various jobs throughout the area.

    Survivors include her husband, Merlin; a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Kevin Micke, Kaukauna; four sons and three daughters in-law, Gene Boehnlein, Appleton; Dan Doehnlein, Kaukauna; Andy and Sandy Boehnlein, Appleton; 17 grandchildren; a sister, Judy Schmidt, California; four brothers and three sisters in-law, Arthur and Delores Knott, Albert and Lois Knott, Orville Knott, and John and Nancy Knott, all of Kaukauna.

    Carol was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

    Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, January 18, 1999 at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion with the Rev. Gregory Colegrove officiating. Burial will be in the Brillion City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home on Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.

    Age, 62, passed away unexpectedly atg her home at 6:30 p.m. Friday evening. She was born February 9, 1907 in Little Chute. She was a member of the Holy Name of Jesus Parish, Kimberly, formerly employed at the Hofkens Building and Supply Co. of Kimberly.

    Survivors are three sisters; Mrs. William [Catherine] Behling; Mrs. Richard [Frances] Wildenberg; Mrs. Clyde [Lucille] Hansen, all of Kimberly; four nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from the Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly, with Rev. Paul Vanden Hogen, officiating. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery , Little Chute. Friends may call at the Jansen Funeral Home, Kimberly, after 2 p.m. Sunday. Wake services will be at 8 p.m. Sunday evening.

  • Note: Ione Betty Gerhartz, 88, Green Bay, died peacefully at a local hospital on June 14, 2015. Born on January 27, 1927, in Appleton, she is the daughter of the late George and Martha (Neunfeldt) Baer. On June 25, 1947, she married Robert Gerhartz in Little Chute, and he preceded her in death on August 11, 2005. Ione was a long-time employee at H.C. Prange and Prange Way. She enjoyed feeding the birds, and was an avid shoe and salt-n-pepper shaker collector. Ione had a great sense of humor, and cherished spending time with family, especially her great grandson, Jake. She will be remembered for her kind gifts of candy to friends and family. She was also a long-time member at Saints Peter and Paul Church.

    She is survived by three children, Mary Ann Morrow, Green Bay, Carol Kruse (special friend, David Pribyl), Little Suamico, Curt Gerhartz (special friend, Christine), Green Bay; seven grandchildren, Beth (Jeff) Vandervelden, Brian and Susan Gerhartz, Kevin, Debbie, Jodell, Jessie, and Zachary; 15 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

    She was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, Ebbie Baer; and one sister, Marian Riechelt.

    Visitation at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, 701 N. Baird St., Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Parish wake service 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Parish wake service 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue Friday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the procession to church. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Friday at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 710 N. Baird St., with the Rev. Patrick Gawrylewski, OFM officiating. Burial at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.

    Bries, Norbert J. Norbert J. Bries, 86, died, Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at an area nursing home. He was born April 25, 1919, in the Town of Lawrence, to the late Albert and Mary (Van De Hei) Bries. On June 14, 1947 he married Bernadette Winkel. Together, they were members of the Town Club and Mystery Hills Golf Club. He enjoyed fishing in Sturgeon Bay. Norbert was a member of the U.S. Army from Feb. 26, 1941, through Aug. 29, 1945, serving in Ardennes Rhineland Central Europe. He earned the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with three Bronze Battle Stars, five overseas service bars and one service stripe. Norbert was employed in auto sales with Van Drisse Ford, Lincoln, Mercury; Cuene Buick; and Brennan Buick. He was also a member of the Elks Club. Survivors include his wife, Bernadette "Dolly" Bries, Green Bay; son, Norbert Michael (Patricia) Bries, Mundelein, Ill.; one grandchild, Michelle; two brothers, Gerald, Green Bay; Bryon (Kathleen), Madison; sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his parents, Norbert was preceded in death by five brothers, Robert, Sherman, Oliver, Donald and Jack Bries; one sister, Mildred Kaster.     Bries, Bernadette "Dolly" Bernadette "Dolly" Bries, 87, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006, at an area care facility. Dolly was born March 8, 1919, in Green Bay, daughter of the late Henry and Agnes (Braun) Winkel and was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy. On June 14, 1947, she married Norbert J. Bries. He preceded her in death Dec. 6, 2005. Dolly and her husband were avid golfers and members of Mystery Hills Golf Club and members of the Town Club.

    Survivors include one son, Norbert Michael (Patricia) Bries, Mundelein, Ill.; one granddaughter, Michelle; one brother, Francis (Mary) Winkel, Muscatine, Iowa; and one sister, Cecilia (John) Bates, Green Bay.

    Besides her husband and her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, John Bates.
