    Stanley G. Lutzow of 1117 Oviatt Street, kaukauna, age 74, died Wednesday, June 9, 1993, at Kaukauna Community Hospital following a courageous battle with emphysema. He was born October 20, 1918, in Appleton the son of the late Reinhold and Clara 9Schmalz) Lutzow.
    Stan served with the 3rd Armored Infantry Division during WWII in the European Theatre. He had been employed at Thilmany Pulp & Paper for 38 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, the Quarter Century Club of Thilmany, V.F.W. 3319 and the D.A.V. Chapter Wm. F. Sppel 18.
    He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Helen Jean (huss) Lutzoe; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Mary Kay Lutzow of Appleton and David and Tammy Lutzow of Kaukauna; four grandchildren, Nora and Randy Baier, Brian and Leah Lutzow, Matthew Lutzow; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor, one brother and sister-in-law LaRoy and Grace Lutzow of Kaukauna.
    He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Kevin and one brother, Howard.
    The funeral services were at 5:00 Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church with the Rev. John Mullarkey officiating. Burial was in Holy Cdross Cemetery.
    A memorial fund has been established for the V.N.A. Hospice Program and Holy Cross Parish.
    Fargo Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

  • Note: Gloria M. Alger, 84, of Crooked Lake, formerly of Kaukauna died Saturday November 12, 2011. She was born in Kaukauna on April 28, 1927 to the late Nicholas and Nell (Wydeven) Huss. Gloria married Bernard "Diz" Alger on November 22, 1947 at Holy Cross Parish. He preceded her in death May 1, 1986. Gloria retired to Crooked Lake in 1985. There, she belonged to the Firemans Auxiliary, the C&M Club and St. Mary Parish. Gloria enjoyed tending to her yard and wintered in Texas. Gloria is survived by her special friend, Gene White of Crooked Lake; children: Susan (Robert) Vandenberg of Silver Cliff and Jill Alger of Kaukauna; grandchildren: Amy (Jim) Sebert and Mark (Jessie) Vandenberg; and great grandchildren: Sydney and Mack Sebert and Kaleb, Kyla and Brooke Vandenberg. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

    In addition to her husband and parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her sisters Germila (Victor) Gerhartz and Jean (Stanley) Lutzow.

    Visitation will be held Wednesday November 16, 2011 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH - ST. MARY CHURCH (119 W. 7th St. Kaukauna) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Jerry Pastors will officiate. Committal St. Mary Cemetery.

    Additionally, a memorial service will be held Thursday November 17, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at the Crooked Lake Community Center. For on-line condolences please visit www.oconnellfh.com. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.

    Evelyn D. Biese


    Evelyn D. Biese, age 85, a resident of North Ridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc, died on Monday evening, April 4, 2011, at North Ridge.

    She was born on April 7, 1925, in Wausau, daughter of the late Elmer and Elizabeth (Feck) Oestreich. On July 11, 1942, she married Benedict Biese at St. Joseph Church, Appleton. He preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 2003. Evelyn was a machine operator at Mirro Aluminum Company for 25 years.

    Survivors include a son: Donald Biese, Mountain View, Ark.; a daughter: Julia Ann Wescott, Grafton; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and several great great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.

    Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and Evelyn will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, at a later date.

    The Pfeffer Funeral Home & All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
