  • Note: Age 87, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2002 at Parkside Care Center in Little Chute. Jo was born in Ellis, Kansas on February 21, 1915, daughter of the late Peter and Katherine (Keberlein) Beford. In October of 1933, she married Jerome “Romy” Kilgas; he preceded her in death in October of 1998. For several years, Josephine worked in the meat department at Larry’s Piggly Wiggly, and was also a longtime and faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

    She is survived by a daughter-in-law: Dorothy Kilgas of Orange Vale, California; two grandsons: Jeff Kilgas and his special friend K.C. and Brad Kilgas, all of Washington state; a brother: Robert (Mildred) Beford of Appleton; a sister: Irene Alger of Kaukauna; two sisters-in-law: Marge Beford and Kareta Kilgas, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1998, her son Jim in 1997, brothers Ralph, George, Isadore, and John, and sisters Helen and Mary.

    The funeral liturgy for Jo will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday, October 22, 2002 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 119 W. 7th Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Robert Udulutsch, OFM Cap. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 2:30 PM until the hour of the services.

  • Note: Lawrence Arts, of Elcho, died Friday, June 21, 2013 at his home on Post Lake. He was 76 years old. He was born on October 30, 1936 in Kaukauna, a son of Lawrence and Minnie (Berben) Arts. He married Rosemary "Scottie" Campbell on November 3, 1962 at Bellwood, Illinois. She survives.

    He was a graduate of Kaukauna High School with the class of 1954.

    After high school he worked at the Thilmany Mill in Kaukauna. He served in the United States Army from September of 1959 to September 1961 working in communications.

    Mr. Arts worked as a telecommunication main office equipment installer for 30 years at several phone companies including Western Electric and AT&T.

    He spent summer weekends and vacations at Post Lake beginning in 1972. Following retirement he spent the summer months at Post Lake and wintered in Mesa Arizona.

    His hobbies included hunting, fishing and woodworking.

    Survivors including his wife are two sons James (Kathleen) Arts, Oconomowoc, David Arts, San Diego, California; a daughter Linda Arts, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two granddaughters Kassandra and Maitlin Arts;

    two sisters Shirley (William) Flynn, Kaukauna, Marty Nitkowski, Mesa, Arizona.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Carol Geraghty.

    A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Elcho with Jeremiah Worman officiating.

    Visitation will be 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services at the church.

  • Note: William J. "Bill" Flynn, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017 surrounded by his family. Bill was born on September 10, 1931 to William and Anne (Busch) in Kaukauna. Bill was a veteran having served in the US Naval Air Force during the Korean War. On September 7, 1957 he was united in marriage to Shirley Arts. Bill was a science teacher at Quinney middle School and Kaukauna High School. He also coached CYO and grade school basketball. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all he loved his family and he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bill was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

    Bill is survived by his wife Shirley, three children; Thomas Flynn, Carrie (David) Fleming, and Tim Flynn, grandchildren; Jessica (Chris) Staum, Tarah (Chris) Jansen, Hannah Flynn, Grace Gretz, Eva Gretz, Mia Flynn and Kyra Flynn, great grandchildren; Colton Jansen, Maddox Jansen, Weston Jansen, Lizzie Staum and Stella Staum, sisters-in-law; Marty Nitkowski, Rosie Arts, and Jean Flynn, daughters-in-law; Lynn (Kenlyn) Gretz, and Therese Raedts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a son Jeff Flynn, brothers; Ed and Tim Flynn and a sister Rosemary (Darrell) Larson.

    The funeral liturgy will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St., with Fr Tom Pomeroy officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.

    The family would like to thank Marilyn Coonen and Bonnie Golden and all of the other friends that have helped during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
