She was born November 9, 1931, to the late Herbert and Melba (Nockerts) Bushmaker in Green Bay. On November 11, 1950, she married Alex "Merlin" La Grave at S.S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on August 14, 1994. In the early years of her marriage, she worked as a sales clerk at Sherwin Williams Paint. People were always drawn to Betty; she had such a presence about her. Betty made friends easily and put others first while never complaining. Family was the most important thing in Betty's life, and she loved spending time with them, especially her great-granddaughter, Lacey Marie. She also enjoyed going to the casino with her niece, Susie.

    Betty is survived by her daughter, Diane and Ken Baierl; two granddaughters, Brittney and Kaley Baierl; her great-granddaughter, Lacey Marie Lee; sister, Dorothy Herlache; brothers, Richard and Barbara Bushmaker, Peter and Joann Bushmaker, David and Linda Bushmaker; her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she treasured and knew her as Auntie Betty.

    In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Bushmaker; and brother-in-law, Milton Herlache.

    Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2015. Parish wake service 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Monday at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria St., from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev. Larry Canavera officiating. Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

    Vanden Heuvel, Ricky James
    Ricky James Vanden Heuvel, 46, died unexpectedly Thursday morning. Born in Green Bay on October 25, 1961, he is the son of Lyle Vanden Heuvel and JoAnn (Vanden Heuvel) Quimby. Ricky attended Pulaski High School and later married the former Ginnie Vande Hei. He was employed by H. J. Martin for many years as a carpet layer. Ricky enjoyed his dog Cooper, trout fishing, being up North by the cabin, and especially times spent with his brother, Tim, and grand-daughter, Sage.
    Ricky is survived by his wife, Ginnie Vanden Heuvel; one daughter, Katie Vanden Heuvel, Green Bay; one son, Korey Vanden Heuvel, Oneida; one grand-daughter, Sage; parents, Lyle Vanden Heuvel of Florence and JoAnn Quimby of Green Bay; one brother, Tim (Kathy) Vanden Heuvel of Oneida; two sisters, Vicki (Duane) Ambrosius, Freedom and Julie Harvey, Pulaski; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends.
    Ricky was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Vanden Heuvel; maternal and paternal grandparents.
    Friends may call at MALCORE (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street, from 5 p.m. Thursday until the time of the memorial service. Memorial service 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Wied officiating.
    In lieu of other expressions of sympathy a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in his memory.
