    Baeten, Gordon Gordon Baeten, 82, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2006, at a local Hospital. He was born on October 1, 1923, to the late John R. and Theodora (Jacobs) Baeten in Wrightstown. Gordon married the former Rosella VandenLangenberg on May 29, 1948, at Holy Trinity Church in Pine Grove. She preceded him in death on March 8, 1991. Gordon drove truck for Leights before purchasing his farm in the town of Denmark. He also hauled milk for Steve's Cheese. His greatest joy was farming, along with playing cards, listening to old-time music, visiting with friends, and watching his grandchildren grow up.

    Gordon is survived by four children, son Kenneth (Jean) Baeten, Denmark; and their daughter, Brenda (Joe) Curtis and their children Connor and Karlee; daughter, Rosemary (Lloyd) Schott, Denmark and their two children Michael (Nicole) and Luke, and Michelle and her fiance, Brandon Wotachek; daughter, Theresa (Jay) Nesvacil, Bellevue and their children, Maureen and Cora; and daughter, Lois (Bill) Mommaerts, Denmark and their children, Bill, Katie, Tricia, and Nick; and his brother, Alwin (Shirley) Baeten; sister-in-law, Shirley Baeten, all of Humboldt; and sister-in-law, Betty VandenLangenberg, Bellevue.

    Gordon was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Norman, Bernard (Lorraine), Clayton (Betty), and Eugene; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Beatrice (Robert J.) Janssen, Bernice (Lawrence) Vanden Plas; In-laws, Marion (Robert) Rentmeester, Leonard and Richard VandenLangenberg.

    Visitation will be on Monday at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 East Mason Street, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Parish prayer and scripture services will be on Monday, at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ralph Merkatoris and Rev. Gilbert Jacobs officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. A memorial fund is being established.

    The family wishes to express their thanks to Harmony House of Denmark for their past two years of care.

    Baeten, Norman T. Norman T. Baeten, 90, Santa Ana, Calif., formerly of the town of Humboldt, died late Monday evening, Feb. 27, 2006, at a nursing home in Santa Ana, following a short illness. He was born Feb. 5, 1916, to the late John R. and Theodora (Jacobs) Baeten in Wrightstown. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II as a Technical Sergeant. Norman was an avid hunter and fisherman, especially enjoying Montana, and Idaho. Survivors include three brothers, Gordon Baeten, Denmark; Eugene (Shirley) Baeten, Alwin (Shirley A.) Baeten, all of Humboldt; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters in law, Bernard and Lorraine Baeten, Clayton and Betty Baeten, Rosella Baeten, two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Beatrice and Robert J. Janssen, Bernice and Lawrence Vanden Plas. Friends may call at St. Thomas The Apostle Church, Sugarbush, after 10 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2006. Funeral 11 a.m. at the church with Father Gilbert Jacobs (Norman's cousin), and Rev. Dean Dombroski, officiating. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Humboldt. Full Military Rites with the American Legion, Ralph Kline Post 262, Luxemburg, following the funeral Mass.     Baeten, Eugene P. Eugene P. Baeten, age 78, a Green Bay resident, passed away Friday, March 3, 2006, at an area care facility. Gene was born September 19, 1927, in Wrightstown, son of the late John and Theodora (Jacobs) Baeten. He married Shirley Spreeman on May 17, 1971, in Rhinelander and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Gene was employed as a truck driver, driving for Tielens Trucking and for Schneider Transport until his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Baeten; a son, John W. Baeten, Green Bay; two brothers: Gordon Baeten, Denmark; Alwin (Shirley) Baeten, town of Humboldt; sisters and brothers-in-law: Verlyn (Beulah) Spreeman, Eugene (Della) Spreeman, William Spreeman Jr., Margaret (Levi) Mayer, Elaine Schmidt and Marie Spreeman, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Besides his parents, Gene was preceded in death by three brothers: Norman, Clayton (Betty), and Bernard (Lorraine) Baeten, two sisters: Bernice (Lawrence) Vanden Plas and Beatrice (Robert) Janssen, sisters-in-law: Rosella Baeten, Althea (Floyd) Peters, Jean Spreeman, Marcella Spreeman, brothers-in-law: Carlyle Spreeman, Earl (Sally) Spreeman, and Jack Schmidt.     Baeten, Ruth Marie


    Ruth Marie (Bries) Baeten, 90, Wrightstown, passed away quietly with her family, on Saturday, July 4, 2009, at Good Shepherd Home in Seymour. She was born in Green Bay on November 20, 1918, to the late Jule and Anna (Gerrits) Bries. She graduated from Wrightstown High School. Ruth married Clarence A. "Larry" Baeten at St. Paul Catholic Church, Wrightstown on November 20, 1945. They were long-time residents of Wrightstown, where they operated a service station. He passed away June 14, 1983.

    Ruth was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Wrightstown, and a member of the Christian Mothers Society. Ruth was an excellent wife, and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed tending her vegetable garden and flower gardens, and was especially fond of her rose bushes. She also loved going on Sunday drives, and flying in Jay's single engine plane. She will be remembered and missed by all, especially her family.

    Surviving are eight children: Mary Lemke, Black Creek; Gerard Jay Baeten, De Pere; Gregory (Wanda) Baeten, Kaukauna; Jean (Daniel) Nohr, Maribel; Michael (Connie) Baeten, De Pere; Linda (Joseph) McConnell, Claskanie, OR; Patricia (Thomas) Knoerzer, Palos Heights, IL; and Kevin Baeten, Cross Plains, WI; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren with one more on the way.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Jule; her husband, Larry; a sister, Virginia; and her husband's family: Vincent and Anna Marie Baeten, William and Edna Hockers, Ruth and Wilbert Jansen, James and Dorothy Coniff, Clarence and Alice Charneski.

    Friends may call at St. Clare Parish, St. Paul Catholic Church site, 437 Main Street, Wrightstown, on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, between 3 and 4:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on Wednesday at 5 p.m. with Father Dennis Bergsbaken officiating.
