    Stevens, Carol J. Carol J. Stevens, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday October 14th, 2005, after a five-year struggle with Pulmonary Hypertension disease. Carol Kersten was born on December 29th, 1930, and touched many people's lives for 74 years. After marrying Roger Stevens on August 25, 1951, she worked as a nurse's aide at the Clintonville Hospital. When Roger returned from Service, and their family began, they moved from Manawa to a farm in Ogdensburg that became their family home. Carol took on the role of mom. She has from then on provided her family and friends with memories of wonderful meals, family Holidays, and thoughtfulness to others. She was an active member of the "Friendship Club" for over 45 years. She was a long time member of First Lutheran Church in Ogdensburg and graced them with her bake sale items for many years. She was the best wife, mother, grandma and friend!

    Her parents Ferdinand Kersten, and Mildred Kersten Zeuske precede her in death.

    She is survived by her husband of 54 years Roger Stevens; three children: Jeff (Ann) Stevens, Scott (Becky) Stevens, Ogdensburg; Julie (Bob) Anderson, Appleton; seven grandchildren: Fawn (Kory) Klemm, Hanna and Olivia Stevens, Amber VanDeHey, Sarah, Michael, and Steven Anderson; five great grandchildren; a brother: Owen (Bev) Kersten, Clintonville; and a sister: Nancy Haartonian, Waupaca; many nieces and nephews, and special friends.

    Mom, you will be greatly missed. Thank you for all that you have taught us and all that you have helped us to be. Breathe Easy!

    The funeral service for Carol will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday October18, 2005, at First Lutheran Church in Ogdensburg. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Roger David Stevens

  • Death: Roger David Stevens died on December 16, 2011, at age 81.
  • Note: Roger David Stevens, 81, peacefully passed away with his family surrounding him with love, on Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, after suffering a serious stroke. Roger was born in Manawa, on Dec. 19, 1929, son of the late Arthur Tebo and Lulu (Lamkins) Stevens. He lived in Waupaca County all his life. Roger was united in marriage to Carol Kersten on Aug. 25, 1951.

    After serving in the U.S. Army, stationed in Japan, Roger worked at Farmway Co. He also worked at Driller's Service and Supply in Manawa for many years, until his retirement in 1994. Roger also was a dairy farmer in Ogdensburg for about 30 years, where he provided a great life for his family.

    Roger could fix just about anything and many neighbors and friends had things repaired by "Rog". The things he welded were built to last forever. His children will never need another Christmas tree stand! Roger also enjoyed fishing in Canada, spending time with his brother, Mike, riding his Harley, "surveying the land" from his chair in the garage and watching Packer games in Scott's garage.

    Roger is survived by his sons, Jeff (Ann) Stevens, Scott (Becky) Stevens, all of Ogdensburg; a daughter, Julie (Bob) Anderson, Appleton; seven grandchildren, Fawn (Kory) Klemm, Hanna Stevens, Olivia Stevens, Amber Towery, Sarah, Steven, Michael Anderson; six great-grandchildren, Trent, Leah, Gabe, Colten, Kevin and Addie; a brother, Myles J. Stevens; sisters-in-law, Nancy Hartoonian and Bev Kersten; also many nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Tebo and Lulu (Lamkins) Stevens; his wife, Carol; sister, Wilma Amundson; sisters-in-law, Betty Stevens and Dorothy Stevens; brothers-in-law, Owen Kersten and Roger Amundson.

    Dad, you provided us a wonderful childhood and were a good example of a hard working man. You were a quiet gentle soul with a sparkling grin. Your friendship, presence and "zerberts" will be greatly missed.

    A Memorial service for Roger will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa, with the Rev. Greg Watling officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery, Town of Little Wolf. A visitation for Roger will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

  • Note: Rebecca Lynn "Becky" Stevens, Ogdensburg, WI passed away peacefully, in her sleep, on October 8, 2013, at the age of 59. Her dearest husband, Scott Stevens, was at her side. Becky was born to Jack and Arline Algiers of New London, WI on April 23ΒΈ1954. Becky will always be remembered by those who loved her as a feisty woman with a heart of gold. She loved music and dancing was a common occurrence in her house. She was a caring, loving woman with a great sense of humor. She loved to talk and always had an ear to listen. She attended Emmanuel Lutheran and New London Senior High. She worked many jobs in her life but truly enjoyed her employment at Bethany Nursing home in Waupaca, WI. She married Scott Stevens on November 14, 1987 and the family lived a happy life in Ogdensburg, WI. Becky loved all her family especially her grandchildren. She adored and was adored by her loving husband, Scott. The two of them spent many years together and affectionately called each other "poo-poo."

    Becky will be greatly missed and will live on in the memories of those who loved her. She is survived by her father, Jack Algiers, her husband, Scott Stevens, siblings, Cindy Baehman (Ron), Scott Algiers (Carol), daughter, Amber Towery (Jason Staniak), grandchildren, Leah Gastonguay, Trent Gastonguay, Gabriel Van De Hey, and Addison Towery, nieces Amy Ciepluch (Tyson), Andrea Algiers (Hiroyuki Shibata), nephews Scott Emenecker (Tabitha) and Eric Algiers, aunts, uncles, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

    She was preceded in death by her mother Arline Algiers.

    Funeral Services for Becky will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service. Burial will be in the Little Wolf Cemetery, Town of Little Wolf.

  • Note: Owen K. Kersten, age 83 of Clintonville passed away Thursday morning December 1, 2011 at the Angelus Retirement Community in Clintonville. Owen was born on April 4, 1928 in Split Rock, WI as the son of the late Ferdinand and Mildred (Stanley) Kersten. He graduated from Tigerton High School in 1946 and on November 23, 1950 he was united in marriage to Beverly Edwards. The couple celebrated 61 years together this past November. Owen was a Tool and Die Maker at FWD Seagrave in Clintonville for 40 years retiring in 1990. He was an active member of the Clintonville community serving on the Board of Directors for the Truck City Credit Union and was a member of the Foreman's Club at FWD. Owen was also a member of the Clintonville Chapter #197 of Free and Accepted Masons for many years. He was a Christian man who was active as a member of the United Methodist Church in Clintonville where he helped with ushering & communion, served as trustee, and helped with the Men's Lenten Breakfast. Owen enjoyed hunting, fishing, repairing things, carving ducks and fish, gun smithing, gardening, and spending time with his family.

    Survivors include his wife, Beverly; two daughters: Peggy (Michael) Bevernitz, Clintonville; Lynn (Kevin) Wege, Beloit; five grandchildren: Andrew Bevernitz, Chicago, IL; Ryan Bevernitz, Rhinelander;

    Whitney Wege, Witchita Falls, TX. Kamey Wege, Lisle, IL; William Wege, Beloit; his sister, Nancy Hartoonian, Waupaca.[

    Owen was preceded in death by his parents, a twin brother & sister in infancy, and his sister Carol Stevens. Masonic Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday December 10, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Clintonville with Memorial Services to follow. The Rev. Roberta Thomson will officiate and inurnment will be at the Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the United Methodist Church. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is assisting his family.
