    Geurts, Wilbur Wilbur Geurts, 89, town of Wrightstown, died Sunday, May 28, 2006, at home. Wilbur was born July 1, 1916, in De Pere, to the late John and Mary (Aerts) Geurts. He married the former Ruth Schaeuble on April 26, 1941, at St. Willebrords Catholic Church in Green Bay. Wilbur worked at Ft. Howard Paper Co. for 38 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He farmed his whole life in the town of Wrightstown was a member of the Greenleaf-Wrightstown Lions Club and was a lifelong member of St. Pauls Church. Wilbur enjoyed bowling, playing cards, hunting, fishing and golfing.

    Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth; children, Paul and Mary Jo Geurts, Green Bay; Lois Trad, Greenleaf; Glenn and Marlene, Greenleaf; Gloria and Mark Froehle, Eau Claire; Vicki Geurts, Greenleaf; Donna and Jimmer Christensen, De Pere; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Rose Watermelon, Tucson, Ariz.; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Geurts, Mountain.

    Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Marlene "Mitzi" Geurts; a son, Thomas Geurts; a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Irene Geurts; brother, George Geurts; sisters and brothers-in-law, Leona and Gerald Gerrits, Ella and Adrian Van Rosum, Florence and Carl Daul; and a sister, Marion Geurts.

    Friends may call at the DeWane-Cotter Funeral Home, 711 Main St., Wrightstown, on Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Wrightstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the church with Msgr. John Schuh officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.

  • Note: Age 99, passed away Friday, February 6, 2004 at St. Paul Home. LeRoy was born August 11, 1904 in Green Bay, son of the late Joseph and Cora (Walls) Balza. LeRoy married the former Lucille Powell on October 6, 1924 in Kaukauna; Lucille preceded him in death in February of 1984.

    LeRoy raised his family on a small farm near Kaukauna while also working at Thilmany Pulp and Paper. In 1947, he purchased the Deep Rock service station in Kaukauna and in 1967 he relocated his business to the DX Station, also known as Balza’s Auto. LeRoy retired in 1969. Many will remember LeRoy as an active fisherman, card player, and pool player.

    Survivors include four children: LeRoy J. (JoAnn) Balza of Darboy; Sr. Norma Balza of Manitowoc; Richard (Jean) Balza of Kaukauna; and Edee (Lloyd) Vandeyacht of Darboy; nine grandchildren: Randy Kihlman, Barbara (Bill) Birkholz, Karen (Jack) Wildenberg, Angie Balza, Amy (Bob) Szilagyi, Dan (Deb) Balza, Tom (Mary) Balza, Linda (Mike) Samsa, Jeff (Sandy) Vandeyacht; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law: Herbert (Marie) Powell and Eugene (Muriel) Powell, all of Kaukauna; two sisters-in-law: Tootie Powell of Green Bay and Doris Powell of Menomonee Falls. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lucille in 1984; a daughter Dorothy (Al) Krohn; a granddaughter Terre Vandeyacht; a great-grandson Brandon Birkholz; a brother Lloyd (Rose) Balza; sisters Blossom (Al) Gustafson and Phyllis (Herman) Voss; a half-brother Henry (Marie) Besaw; a special sister-in-law Agnes Martzahl as well as several other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

    The funeral liturgy for LeRoy will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, February 9, 2004 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 119 W. 7th Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Robert Udulutsch, OFM Cap. officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service. A memorial fund has been established in LeRoy’s name.

She was born April 28, 1915 daughter of the late Michael and Theresa (Ashauer) Loderbauer. On May 8, 1934 Agnes was united in marriage to Raymond Wittmann. Together they farmed in the Kaukauna area their entire married life. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed embroidery, and especially loved the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

    Agnes is survived by her 6 children: Don (Bev) Wittman, DeSoto, TX, Joyce Williams, Kaukauna, Dolores (Thurston) Lambie, Appleton, Diane (Phil) Burr, Springfield, TN, Lynn Merkl, Appleton, and Dave (Peggy) Wittmann, Kaukauna; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Naomi Loderbauer.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Wittmann; a son, LeRoy Wittman; grandson, Dennis Kramer; great-granddaughter, Kayla Wittman; 2 Brothers: Raymond Loderbauer and Pete Loderbauer; a sister, Alice Fink; 2 sons-in-law: Roger Williams and Don Kramer; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.

    The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH at ST. ALOYSIUS CHURCH, 2401 Main Av, Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating.     Survivors include a daughter: Judy Weigman of Darboy; a son: Richard (Joan) Weigman of Katy, Texas and their children Kari (Michael) Snyder of Katy, Texas and Chad (Jacqui) Weigman of Houston; a son: James (Kathy) Weigman of Darboy and their sons Eric and Austin Weigman; a great-granddaughter: Grayson Snyder of Texas. Dorothy is also survived by a dear family friend, Pat Schabo. She is further survived by a brother: Harold (Virginia) Reif of Beaver Dam, as well as by Jim's brothers and sisters: Jerry (Dolores) Weigman of Denmark,. Rita Joosten of Kaukauna, Rosella (Robert) Petersen of Darboy, Bonnie (Ralph) Duprey of Appleton, and Joan Cozy of Naperville, Illinois; three sisters-in-law: Rosemond Weigman, Helen Weigman, and Jane (LeRoy) Heraly. Other survivors include many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James in 1981, brothers Leonard (Angie) Reif, Richard Reif, Donald Reif, Norbert Reif, and Joseph Reif, a sister Margaret Reif, and by brothers-in-law Don (Bea) Weigman, Bill (Del) Weigman, Norman Weigman, Leo Weigman, Ambrose (Matilda) Weigman, Joe Joosten, Bill Cozy, and Carl Weigman; and a sister-in-law Mary Agnes Weigman.

    Four month old daughter of Barbara and Daniel Glasheen, died suddenly early Friday morning. She was born August 10, 1976 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton.

    Besides her parents, she is survived by a brother, William, at home; three half brothers, Daniel, Tim and Christopher; a half sister, Holly, all of Appleton; grandparents, Mrs. Helen Glasheen, Kaukauna; and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lambie, Combined Locks; great grandmothers, Mrs. Florence Lambie, Kaukauna; and Mrs. Julia DeNeil, De Pere.

    The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Kaukauna. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. The Rev. Donald Fuller will officiate. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Kaukauna, after 2 p.m. Sunday, and on Monday until the hour of service.
