    Age 40, was called home to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 17, 1999 surrounded by her family. Julie was born February 5, 1959 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Kurt G. Hartstern and Ruth M. Hartstern of Appleton. On June 16, 1978 she married Jeff Meulemans in Kaukauna and the Lord blessed their marriage with two sons, Jason and Justin. From 1979 until her health failed in 1995 Julie worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was a member of the American Association of Respiratory Care, the National Board of Respiratory Care, and the Association for Brain Tumor research. Julie was a faithful member of Holy Cross Parish and served as a parent volunteer in the Kaukauna Schools. She was proud to be the longest surviving of the 'I Can Cope' cancer support group at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Julie enjoyed swimming, biking, walking, racing events and her her Precious Moment collection. She was also happy to be and avid spectator fan at her sons soccer and baseball games.

    Survivors include her husband, Jeff Meulemans, Kaukauna, her two sons, Jason and Justin, Meulemans, both at home; her mother, Ruth M. Hartstern, Appleton; three brothers, Daniel [Joan] Hartstern, Kenosha; Steven [Brenda] Hartstern, Green Bay; Jonathon Hartstern, Appleton; two sisters, Carla [Lindy] Euclid, Appleton; Lori [Timothy] Moy, Appleton; her Godchildren, Todd Euclide, Nichole Meulemans, Craig Siegmann and Ben Moy; Jeff's parents, Ralph and Mary Alice Meulemans, Kaukauna; brothers and sisters, Ron [Nancy] Meulemans, New Haven, Connecticut; Donna Foshee and her fiance, Schott Robach, Kaukauna; Bob [Sandy] Meulemans, Wrightstown; Carol [Dale] Mignon, Little Chute; Diane [Bob] Vandermause, Ashwaubenon; Jerry [Barb] Meulemans, Kaukauna; also survived by many nieces, nephews and many friends.

    She was preceded in death by her father, Kurt G. Harstern.

    The funeral liturgy will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 1999 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Father Jack Mullarkey officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Fargo Funeral Home, Kaukauna, and again on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

  • Burial: She was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna, Wisconsin.
  • Note: Irma E. Van Dyke, 100 of Appleton, died Thursday July 30, 2015 at Brewster Village with her family by her side. She was born May 5, 1915 in Askeaton, WI; daughter of the late Herman and Caroline (nee' Reinke) Winkler. Irma married Carl Van Dyke on June 22, 1940 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Askeaton. He preceded her in death in 1994.

    Irma was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, and cooking. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family; Irma especially enjoyed hosting holiday and family gatherings at her house. Family was very important to her.

    Irma is survived by her two children, daughter, Karen Bahr, Madison; and son, Michael (Lynn) Van Dyke, Sturgeon Bay; two Grandchildren, Matthew (Shannon Gramann) Van Dyke, and Meredith Van Dyke (fiancé' Lucas Beversdorf); sister-in-law, Rosemary Johns, Kaukauna; and several nieces and nephews. She was further preceded in death by her sister, Norma Gilson; her brother, Clarence Winkler; sister-in-law, Lillian Olejnik; and brother-in-law, Gordon Van Dyke.

    Mass of Christian Burial for Irma will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday August 26, 2015 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer St; Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.

    Irma's family would like to thank the staff at both St. Paul Elder Home and Brewster Village for all the care and compassion given to Irma.

  • Note: Age 55, died Saturday, October 9, 2004 at a Manor Care Health Services. David was born in Appleton on November 14, 1948, son of the late Donald Hoffman and Sylvera (Wenzel) Hoffman of Greenleaf who survives. From a young child on, David enjoyed playing with trucks, tractors, and cranes. His love for that hobby eventually led him to Milwaukee where he found work as a heavy equipment operator. He lived in Milwaukee most of his adult life, until his health failed three years ago. At that time, he returned to the area to be with his family. David enjoyed hunting, golfing, and the friendship and companionship of his beloved dog, Star.

    David is survived by his mother: Sylvera Hoffman of Greenleaf; fourteen brothers and sisters: Don (Shirley) Hoffman of Wrightstown; Dennis (Diane) Hoffman of Kaukauna; Diane (Steve) Brittnacher of Greenleaf; Dale Hoffman of Greenleaf; Debbie (Dave) Vanderlois of Neenah; Duane Hoffman of Greenleaf; Darlene Swedberg of Appleton; Dan (Dolly) Hoffman of Kaukauna; Doug Hoffman of Winneconne; Dick (Lisa) Hoffman of Kaukauna; Darrell (Cheryl) Hoffman of Greenleaf; Dewey Hoffman of Kaukauna; Dean Hoffman of Kaukauna; and Dawn (John) Berghuis of Kaukauna. David is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded by his father Donald Hoffman in 1986.

    Funeral services for David will be held at 6:00 PM Monday (TODAY) at the Fargo Funeral Home in Kaukauna with Pastor Ronald Hannan officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 4:00 PM until the hour of the service at 6:00 PM.


    The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital as well as to everyone at Manor Care Health Services. You took such great care of David for us – your kindness will always be remembered.
