  • Note: Roy M. Abitz, 90, King, WI., formerly of De Pere, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. He was born in Wausau, WI on December 27, 1923 to the late Otto Abitz and Hester (Schaumburger) Abitz. Roy has been a Mason since 1978 and is a charter member of Beja Shrine. He is the past president of the Green Bay Shrine Club and a longstanding member of the Supercycle unit. He is a life member of the VFW in Wausau and a member of the American Legion also a member of Elks Lodge #259 and a former member of the Green Bay Chapter of the Society for Preservation of Barbershop Quartet singing in America (SPEBSQSA). He served in the US Army Air-Corp (Air Force) from 1943 - 1961. Roy was a Combat Control Tower Operator in the Philippine Islands. After his extensive military career he was Honorably Discharged as a Tech Sergeant in Berkenfeld, Germany in 1961. With his military experience he spent many years as an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA at Austin Strauble Airport in Green Bay. Roy married Julie (Bultman) Amond in Green Bay on December 16, 1995.

    Survivors include his wife beloved wife Julie; stepchildren April Amond and Joan (Andrew) Whittaker; five grandchildren, Dylan Shurpit, Brian Whittaker, Terri (Doug) Bogen, Kathy (Mike) Columbo, Julie (Rich) Reed; ten great grandchildren, Kyle, Kory, Cooper Whittaker, Madison and Sydney Bogen, Tierney ORourke, Allison and Molly Columbo, Justin and Nick Reed; one great great grandchild, Harper Whittaker; one sister Janet Kemerer and numerous of nieces, nephews and friends.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Hester; brothers, Warren and Gerald Abitz; sisters, Marion and Babe.

    Friends and family may call on Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Service, East Green Bay location, 2379 East Mason St, on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. Masonic service at 10:45 Memorial service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Bob Laubenstein officiating followed by full Military Honors.     Koch, Patricia E. Pat Koch, 88, Kaukauna, passed away Friday morning, Sept. 7, 2007, at Parkside Care Center in Little Chute. Pat was born in Mankato, Minn., on Oct. 25, 1918, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Kaufman) Kiffe. On July 1, 1944, she married Jerome "Totsy" Koch, in Kaukauna; he preceded her in death in 1992. She was an excellent seamstress, and enjoyed making clothes for her family. She also crocheted many afghans and other items for her friends and loved ones. An excellent homemaker, Pat will also be remembered for her cooking and baking.

    Pat is survived by three children, Mary (Dennis) Babb, Appleton; Joan Koch, Kaukauna; and John Koch, Carrollton, Texas; three grandchildren, Haley, Amanda, and Travis Koch, Texas; sisters-in-law, Margaret Kiffe, Leah Koch; and two brothers-in-law, Paul Koch and Bob Koch.

    Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerome; 14 brothers and sisters, Alois (Josephine) Kiffe, Leone (John) Linskens, Marcella "Delle" (Frank) Huss, Cecelia "Cet" (Clarence) Huss, Clayton "Toby" (Eunice) (Vi) Kiffe, Margaret (John) Kimball, Kenneth Kiffe, Harold "Ony" (Ardyth) Kiffe, Clarence (Gloria) Kiffe, Theodosia "Dote" (James) Verhagen, Flavia "Flave" (James Belling) (James) Nagel, Richard (Frances) Kiffe, Ronald Kiffe; and Claire (Ben) Dercks; a brother-in-law, Clarence "Bud" Koch; and a sister-in-law, Mary Gossens.

    The funeral liturgy for Patricia will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH — ST. MARY'S SITE in Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service.

    Corbin, Charles D. Charles D. Corbin , Kaukauna, age 76, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2007, after a brief illness. Chuck was born on December 14, 1930, in Worthington, Indiana, son of the late Rush and Martha (Dowell) Corbin. He was a graduate of Indiana University. He was married to Jean Effa and she preceded him in death in 1998. Chuck was a member of the Masons, American Legion and the Shriners.

    He is survived by his children: Joe and Phil of Kaukauna; a twin brother Phillip, Kaukauna; a brother Robert (Helen) of Prescott, Arizona; sister-in-law Jan (Bob) Brogan, Kaukauna; brother-in-law Jim (Joan) Effa, Seymour; sister-in- law Charlotte (Joe) Weyenberg, Kaukauna; many nieces and nephews.

    Funeral Services for Chuck will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2007, at the Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established for the Fox Valley Humane Association.

    Age 60, died Friday evening April 23, 1999 at the University Hospital, Madison. Loren was born September 16, 1938 in Black Creek, the son of late William H. and Rose [Kronz] Otto. He lived his early life in Black Creek and was united in marriage to Mary Ann Rolf in Freedom on August 3, 1963. The couple lived in the Black Creek area until 1978, when they moved to Clintonville where they have lived since. Loren attended the U.W. Stevens Point where he obtained his certification as a a drivers education instructor. He also attended Fox Valley Technical School and graduated in 1992 from the Police Recruit Academy. He was employed for 21 years at Appleton Mills and then owned and operated the Clintonville True Value Hardware store until 1989. He and Mary operated the L&M Driver Education Co. in Clintonville presently and he was also currently serving as a police officer in Marion and Iola. He was Deputy Reserve Police Officer for Waupaca Co. and had also served with the Manawa Police Dept. Loren was Captain of the Waupaca County Sheriff Reserve. He was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church, Clinton.

    Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann; three daughters, Lori [Adam] Griesbach, Black Creek; Sandra [Dennis] Finger, Clintonville; and Kim Otto, Westfield; one son, Terry Otto, Appleton; five grandchildren, Austin and Colt McKeever, A.J. and Zack Griesbach and Tyler Finger; two brothers, William [Kay] Otto, Black Creek; and Bruce Otto, Combined Locks; one sister, Rosemary [Duane] Coenen, Shawano Lake; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

    Loren was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Rick.

    Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 1999 at the St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville with Msgr. Mark Schommer officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Black Creek. Friends may call at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home, Clintonville from 5- 8 p.m. Monday and at the church after 12 noon Tuesday until the time of services. Parish prayer services 8 p.m. Monday.
