  • Note: Age 67, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, April 28, 2003. John was born in Winona, Minnesota on July 30, 1935, son of the late Clair and Marie (Taylor) Stoffel. Following his graduation from high school, he served his country as a member of the United States Army. After service, he attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison for three years, with a focus in engineering. On June 2, 1962, he married the former Marilyn Fahrbach at Sacred Heart Church in Appleton. Most of John’s working career was spent at Appleton Mills, and retired in 1993 as the Vice President of Manufacturing. Many will remember John as an avid reader and card player. He also enjoyed working puzzles and traveling with Marilyn.

    He is survived by his wife: Marilyn Stoffel of Kimberly; two sons: Mike (Gayle) Stoffel of Wauwatosa and their daughters Megan and Kayla; Mark (Kelly) Stoffel of Kaukauna and their children Mara and Cody; two daughters: Lynn (Ed) Aisawa of Sunnyvale, California and their children Sarah, Michelle, and Kevin; and Lisa Stoffel of Milwaukee; a brother: Clair “Fritz” (Sandy) Stoffel of Appleton; two sisters: Carol (Frank) Post of Appleton and Mary (Dave) Brooks of Appleton; a sister-in-law: Rose Stoffel of Little Chute. John was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Alex Aisawa, a brother Denis Stoffel, and a brother-in-law John Fahrbach.


    The funeral liturgy for John will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, May 2, 2003 at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 10 AM until the hour of services.

    The material things of this life meant nothing to John. His loving wife, children, and grandchildren were the focus of his love, and they will miss him dearly.

  • Note: Ila Mae Greiner, 81, Kaukauna, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, in her Kaukauna home. She was born on Dec. 7, 1930, in the town of Freedom, daughter of the late William and Martha (Arnoldussen) Coffey. Ila grew up in the town of Freedom, where her family owned Golden Glow Cheese Factory. She graduated from Freedom High School where she met the love of her life.

    On June 14, 1950, she married her husband of 61 years, William "Bill" Greiner. They moved their family to Kaukauna, where they owned and operated Modern Dairy. Ila was a member of St. Nicholas Church in Freedom since their move back to the Valley. While living up at Lee Lake, she was a member of Klondike Catholic Church, where she enjoyed volunteering and sharing her Christian faith. Ila was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed her flower garden at her home on the lake, loved to read and was an avid Packer fan. Ila learned the computer at a late age so she would stay in touch with her family and friends while she and Bill went away for the winter months. Most of all, she cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

    Ila Mae is survived by her devoted husband, Bill; her children, Donna (John) VanDeHey, Belvidere, Ill.; Bill, Jr., Jack (Michelle) Greiner, Kim Marquardt and Kerri (Lonni) Jordan, all of Kaukauna; her grandchildren, Shana (Brett) Schwanebeck, Ross VanDeHey, Kara Supalla, Chad Greiner (fiancee, Jennifer), Kelly (Wes) Ralston, Amanda Greiner, Rachel, Melissa and Desiree Greiner, Sam Schreiber, Nichole and Austin Vandeneng, Eric Marquardt, Alexandra, Savannah, Miranda and Olivia Jordan; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Jaxson Schwanebeck, Richard and Robby Greiner and Maison Ralston; a brother, Don (Jane) Coffey; a sister, Shirley (Bob) Phillips. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

    Preceding her in death were her parents, as well as a daughter, Judy, and son, Richard.

    The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. (Noon) on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, W2037 County Road S, Freedom. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Ila Mae's name is being established.
