  • Note: Age 86, passed away Saturday, November 17, 2001 in the Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton, following a brief illness. Irish was born in Kimberly on August 10, 1915, son of the late William and Bridget (Kilawee) Sarrasin. On July 18, 1939, he married the former Stennece Heilman at Holy Name Church in Kimberly; she preceded him in death on March 3, 1979. For many years, Irish worked for the Kimberly Clark Mill as an electrician, and was a member of the Quarter-Century Club there. He was a member and Past Commander of the William Verhagen Post #60 of the American Legion, who will provide the military honors on the day of his burial. Irish was an avid bowler, and golfer, and was a member of Countryside Golf Course in Kaukauna. His family will always cherish and remember the nearly daily luncheons with him. Irish is survived by three daughters:

    Sue (Marty) Ziepke of Little Chute and Sue’s children: Tim Coenen and his special friend Laurie, Brenda Coenen and her special friend Rob, and Shelli (Steve) Bessett; and by Marty’s children: Jon (Marcy) Ziepke, Mark Ziepke, Tammy Kuehne, and Kristi Maki;

    Cindy Knudsen of Little Chute and her children Shawn (Kris) Knudsen, Shanin Knudsen, Shane (Lynn) Knudsen, and Shayla Knudsen and her special friend Vince;

    Cheryl (Jim) Vande Voort of Darboy and their children Missy (Kevin) Plutz and Bill Vande Voort.

    Irish is further survived by ten great-grandchildren: T.J. Coenen; Nick and Logan Bessett; Jamie, Ashlie and Jared Knudsen, Noah Knudsen, and Kaitlyn and Nicole Plutz; eleven step-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Ivyl Mackin of Port Richey, FL; a brother-in-law: Carl (Lorraine) Heilman of Kaukauna. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, grandchildren Debbie Coenen and Mark Coenen, and sisters Marie (John) Vanden Boogaard and Gerry Sarrasin.

    The funeral liturgy for Irish will be held at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, November 20, 2001 at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly with Fr. David Pleier officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 3:00 PM until the hour of the service.

    Age 63, died Saturday morning following a long illness. She was born March 2, 1916 in Kaukauna and lived in the Kimberly area most of her life. Mrs. Sarrasin was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 60, Kimberly, A.A.R.P., and the Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly. Survivors include her husband, William; three daughters: Mrs. Martin (Suzanne) Zipke, Menasha; Mrs. Cynthia Knudsen, Little Chute; Mrs. James (Cheryl) Vande Voort, Little Chute; two brothers: Woodrow and Carl both of Kaukauna; two sisters: Mrs. Clarence (Dorothy) Henschel, Sheboygan Falls; Mrs. Owen (Ivyl) Mackin, Port Richey, Florida; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Geraldine Sarrasin, Kimberly; nine grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. The complete funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly, with the Rev. Dean Dombroski officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Jansen-Fargo Funeral Home. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial fund for the American Cancer Society has been established.

    Palm, Lucille, age 85, of Kimberly passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2005, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born on February 21, 1919, in Washburn, WI, the daughter of the late Arnold and Rose (Klock) Bergman. She married Robert Palm and he preceded her in death.

    She is survived by her brother Robert Bergman of Washburn, WI; her nephews Rob (Ella) Bergman of Superior, WI, and Richard Bergman of Appleton.

    Effie Asman, age 87, of Kimberly, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born on December 2, 1925, in Appleton, the daughter of the late George and Anna (Janssen) Spaay. On February 26, 1949, Effie married Roy Asman in Appleton. Effie was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Kimberly Craft Ladies, and Villa Voices. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, and playing cards. Effie surrounded herself with her family and friends, especially her Kimberly and St. Paul Home friends.

    Effie is survived by her children: Thomas (Patricia) Asman, Kimberly; David (Maria) Asman, Darboy; Mary (Steve) Arend, Franklin; and Russell (Lynne) Asman, Monument, Colorado; twelve grandchildren: Jeffrey (special friend Kelli Rindt) Asman and Randy (Anne) Asman; Katie (special friend Sam Gocker) Asman, Sharon (Joe) DePaoli, Laura (Travis) Jordan, and Marley (fiancé Ryan Killian) Asman; Julie (Judd) Durant, Andy Arend, and Matthew Arend; Daniel, Maggie, and Karlie Asman; six great grandchildren: Grant, Michael, and Claudia Asman; Keizer (Asman) LaBoy, Royce and Mabel Jordan; brother: Patrick (Linda) Spaay, Appleton; sisters-in-law: Bev Spaay, Kimberly and Sis Asman, Valders. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Effie was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Asman; sisters and brother: Margaret (David) Dietrich, Lee (George) Knoll, and Jerome Spaay.

    The funeral liturgy for Effie will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the St. Paul Home Chapel, 316 E. 14th Street in Kaukauna. Interment will take place at Holy Name Cemetery in Kimberly. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday in the chapel from 1:00 pm until the time of mass.   • Note: Edward W. Klarner, Kimberly, age 92, died Sunday November 9, 2014. He was born in Seymour on August 9, 1922 to the late Edward and Christina (Ullman) Klarner. Ed married Elizabeth "Betty" Hermus at St. Joseph Church in the Town of Oneida on May 21, 1947. She preceded him in death on April 17, 2000. Ed moved to Kimberly in 1953, where he built the home he lived in for 61 years. He retired from Kimberly Clark in 1987 after 40 years of service.

    Ed entered into the U.S. Army on June 12, 1945 and was discharged on November 14, 1946. Being a veteran played a large role in his life. Ed joined the William Verhagen American Legion Post 60 in 1957 and the Color Guard in 1988. He was an active member of the Post, serving as past Commander and Chaplain. He was also a member of the Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319.

    Ed enjoyed woodworking, fishing, square dancing and card playing. He also enjoyed reading the paper every day. Ed was a member of Moose Lodge in Kaukauna.

    Ed is survived by his children: Larry (Melanie) of Geneva, OH; Donald (Corinne Childs) of Encinitas, CA; Thomas (Cora) of Titusville, FL; and Barbara (Thomas) Dorn of Kaukauna; grandchildren: Greg (Lisa) Klarner, Devin and Bryce Klarner, Shannon (Al) Immel, Joseph (April) Palmer, Melissa (Jeffrey) Krueger, Valerie Janson (special friend Chuck Carafa), Nicole (Brian) Brooks, Rachelle (Keith) Fields, Christopher (Mae) Rousseau, Michelle (Craig) Keeling, Tina (special friend Kevin Ahearn), Eric (Annett), Adam, Angela and Saul (special friend Shana) Beach, Ben (Robyn) and Tyler (Robyn) Dorn; 31 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother: Melvin (Nancy) Klarner; sisters: Marie De Keyser and Rosella Laabs; sisters-in-law: Gladys and Lucy Klarner, Rose (Harold) Hendricks and Evelyn Hermus; and many nieces and nephews.

    He is further survived by his special friend of 14 years, Marion Oudenhoven; her children: Keith (Pam), Duane (Bets) and Bruce (Malynda); her daughter-in-law: Mary Oudenhoven; her grandchildren: Amy, Carrie, James, Molly and Elessa Oudenhoven, Tammy (Keith) Spialek, Kyle (Sarah) Oudenhoven and Jordan (Kelly) Yingling

    In addition to his parents and wife, Elizabeth, Ed was preceded in death by his grandson: Chad Anthony Beach; sister: Mildred (Clyde) Campbell; brothers: Robert, Norman (Betty), Herbert and infant Norbert Klarner; brother-in-law: Robert Laabs; and Marion's children: Leon Oudenhoven and Shirley Vander Heiden.

    Visitation will be held Thursday November 13, 2014 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen will officiate.
