  • Note: Age 90, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2005 in Appleton. Arlene was born in Mackville on March 27, 1914, daughter of the late Edward and Johanna (Speel) Krueger. On June 7, 1938, she married Paul Jansen at Holy Name Church in Kimberly; Paul preceded her in death on May 4, 1983. For many years, she and Paul owned and operated the Jansen Funeral Home in Kimberly, where Arlene was a member of the William Verhagen Post #60 of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Board of Directors for the Kimberly Library, the Catholic Order of Foresters, and Holy Spirit Parish. Her family was dear to her, and she truly enjoyed spending time with each and every one of them. She will be sadly missed by her five daughters: Mary (Ron) Nieling of Kimberly; Nancy (Paul) Bartelt of Menasha; Paula (Ken) DeBruin of Sherwood; Leslie Jansen of Missouri; and Tina (Mike) Horn of Appleton; a son: James (Carol) Jansen of Illinois; nine grandchildren: Julie (Dave) Gloudemans, James (Sara) Nieling, Jennifer (Brian) DeWall, Jeannine (Richard) Wilz, Andrea Bartelt and her fiancĂ© Josh Robinson, Ali (Patrick) Ambroso, Ben Smith, Paul Tribble, and Michael Horn; ten great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Colin, and Spencer Gloudemans; Ryan and Ana Nieling; Tristan and Levi DeWall; Kylie Smith; and Jeremy and Lucas Wilz; a brother: Edward Krueger of Darboy; a sister: Mae Daniel of Kimberly; a sister-in-law: Marion (Glen) Vandehey of Kimberly; a brother-in-law: James Strick of Kimberly. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul in 1983, a grandson Jamie Jansen, infant brothers Wilfred and Frederick, a brother Raymond (Jean) Krueger, sisters Edna Krueger and Georgine Rudolph, a brother-in-law Dale Daniel, and sisters-in-law Ermagard Krueger and Ruth Strick.

    The family will receive relatives and friends at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home in Kimberly on Sunday after 2:00. Visiting hours will conclude with a American Legion Auxiliary prayer at 4:45 PM and a parish prayer and scripture service at 5:00 PM. A private burial will take place at Holy Name Cemetery in Kimberly.

  • Note: Richard J. "Dick" Kroiss, 63, Appleton, went to be with his Lord on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011. Dick was born on April 27, 1947, in Appleton, son of the late Frank and Mary (Wittmann) Kroiss. On Oct. 16, 1971, he was united in marriage to Nancy Lefeber. Dick was a 1965 graduate of Kimberly High School. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart. He worked at Presto Products and Zwickers before starting his own business, Kroiss Home Repair, which he operated until his retirement.

    Dick is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nancy; his four brothers and two sisters, Frank (Carla) Kroiss, Darboy, and their children, Bob (Julie) Reinke, Jodi (Tim) Schumacher, Tami (Jeremy) Morrow; Ken (Vicki) Kroiss, Kaukauna, and their children, Amie (Brian) Giese, Alyssa (Paul) Vandenberg, Emily (fiance Ted Tickler) Kroiss; Dan (Chris) Kroiss, Sherwood, and their children, Matt and Katie Anderson; Mary Kay Easton, Neenah, and her children, Christopher and Allison Easton; Peggy Steinberg (special friend Randy Conrad), Darboy and her children, Ryan (special friend Megan Nettekoven) and Jon (special friend Megan Adams) Steinberg; Mike (Lori) Kroiss, Sherwood, and their children, Aubrey and Amanda Kroiss; a brother-in-law, Mike Frahm Sr., Appleton, and his children, Michael Jr. (Tasha) and David (fiancee Alaina Stumpf) Frahm; a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Diane Schroeder, Hilbert and her children, Larry (Vicki) Schroeder, Roy Schroeder, Tammy (Steve) Hogue, Bruce (Lynette) Schroeder; Mike (LouAnn) Lefeber, Greenleaf, and their child, Dillon; Gary (Anne) Lefeber, Hilbert, and their children, Amy Lefeber and Becky (Mike) Stanonick; two aunts, Margaret (Glenn) Taggart and Joyce Wittmann. Dick is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Mary Kroiss; a sister, Susan (Kroiss) Frahm; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Esther and Al Lefeber.
    Dick will be missed by his shitzu dogs: "Sus-z" and "China." Dick liked to write, read, putting puzzles together, golf and bowling. But he truly enjoyed motorcycle riding and put on well over 10,000 miles this past summer!
    Funeral services for Dick will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at the BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna with the Revs. Martin Keller and Tim Seabauth officiating. Interment will be in Community Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Freedom. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Dick's name.
    The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the hospital staff at the Veterans Hospital in Milwaukee as well as the hematology department for all those years of special care. A huge thank you to Julie Jansen who is a nurse that became a true friend. Words cannot truly express the appreciation we have for all the hospice workers from Heartland, specifically Barbie, Elma, Ruth, and Joanna. Thank you for your loving support. A special thank you to the neighbors who have done an awesome job of snow removal for us. Your thoughfulness is greatly appreciated.
    Hugger, you will always be the light of my life.
