He once stopped a man from beating a horse which was trying to pull a wagon through deep mud. He rode his horse to the nunnery in which his sister was a nun but wanted to escape, put a ladder to the wall, climbed up to the window of the cell she shared with another nun, waited til this other nun had some beer and fell asleep, then rescued his sister through the window and rode off with her into the night!
