  • Note: Ruth Hockers, 87, Casco, passed away at Ledge View Nursing Home on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. She was born on April 10, 1926 to the late Raymond and Catherine (Palmer) Vergets in De Pere, WI. On October 25, 1947 she was united in marriage to Milton (Sonny) Hockers. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2002. Together they had 5 children. Ruth was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and loved to travel. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Holy Trinity Rosary Society, Casco. She was a wonderful seamstress and sewed and mended for many people at her home in Casco.She is survived by her children, Barbara (Henry "Butch") Boulanger, Beverly (James) Dhuey, Kay (Edward "Butch") Jeanquart, Teri (James) Opsahl, Keith Hockers and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Agatha Hockers and Grace Hockers.Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Robert and Norbert Vergets; brothers-in-law, Alfred and Clem Hockers, Servenius Schelfhout and sisters-in-law, Stella Hockers and Lorraine Schelfhout.A private service for Ruth's immediate family will be held at Wiesner-Massart Funeral Home, Casco. Entombment in Shrine of Good Shepherd Mausoleum.   • Note: Obit. De Pere Journal Democrat 5-21-1992 Lorraine Schelfhout, 75, 225 N. Tenth st. died Thursday at her home. Born in De Pere Feb. 19, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Rosella Baeten Hocker s and attended St. Boniface school and graduated from Nicolet High School in 1936. She attend ed Kaukauna Teachers college, St. Colletta's college in Jefferson and later received a bachel or of science degree from Silver Lake College, Manitowoc. Mrs. Shelfhout taught school in Bro wn county before her marriage and also taught for several years in the field of special educa tion here and in Manitowoc county. She was a member of the Retired Teachers association bot h in Brown and Manitowoc counties. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella and of St Joseph parish. She married Sevanius M. Schelfhout of Wrightstown July 3, 1943, at St. Boniface church and h e preceded her in death June 2, 1985. She was also preceded in death by one brother Clement H ockers. Survivors are one son John Schelfhout of Green Bay; one sister, Stella Hockers of De Pere; to w brothers, Alfred Hockers of De Pere and Milton Hockers of Casco and one grandson. Funeral services were held Monday morning at St. Joseph church with the Rev. Gilbert Jacobs o fficiating. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery at Manitowoc with Ryan Funeral home handling arr angements.

  • Note: Obit. Appleton Post Cresecent 1-6-2005 Elmer Buechler, age 89, of Wrightstown, died Tuesday, Jan 4, 2005 at Good Shepherd Nursing Ho me in Seymour. Elmer was born on August 31, 1915 in the Town of Wrightstown to the late Theod ore and Anna (Lamers) Buechler. He married Mary Schmidt on August 28, 1947 at St. Francis Chu rch in Hollandtown. Elmer farmed outside Wrightstown for many years and worked at various places including Hillcr est Farms and Haen Veal Farms before moving to Wrightstown in 1986. He was a member of St. Pa ul Catholic Church in Wrightstown as well as the Holy Name Society. Elmer was an officer in t he Wrightstown Golden Agers and enjoyed playing Sheepshead. Elmer is survived by his wife Mary, 3 children; Nancy (Ray) Mooren of De Pere, Carol (Jim) He nrichs of Highland, IL, Bill (Lynn) Buechler of Darboy, 8 grandchildren; Tim (Tracy) Mooren o f Green Bay, Terry (Kathy) Mooren of Kiel, Tracie Mooren of Freedom, Troy Mooren of De Pere a nd special friend Nikki See, Ryan and Adam Henrichs of Highland, IL, Sarah and Lexie Buechle r of Darboy, 4 great grandchildren, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Betty (Bill) Nelson o f Vista, CA, Bob (Elaine) Schmidt of Kaukauna, Dort Schmidt of Seymour and Jim Baltus of Laon a. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, a son Jim, 4 brothers, 6 sisters, sisters-in-la w and brothers-in-law. Friends may call at the De Wane-Cotter Funeral Home, 711 Main St. Wrightstown on Friday fro m 4-8 p.m. Wake service 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. a t St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:3 0 a.m. Saturday at the church with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Elmer’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to Mary Lawrence, Fr. Bob Kabat, Joan Bar tman and the staff at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Seymour for their kind and compassionat e care.
