    Arnold Nelessen, an old and respected resident of this village, died on Wednesday, Dec. 29, in the home of his son, Antone, of this place. He was 77 years of age last Nov. 17. His death was due to ailments incident to old age. The funeral was held on Monday morning from St. Paul's Catholic church, The Rev. A. Van Dyke. O. Praem, officiating. Interment was in the Wrightstown Catholic cemetery. The pallbearers were Barney, Antone and John Nelessen, sons; George Bushman and Martin Nackers, son-in-law, and Norbert Nelessen, a grandson of the decedent. Mr. Nelessen was an old member of St. Paul's church, having been a member of the congregation for 50 years; he was a trustee of the church 22 years, and a member of the Alter society. He was also a charter member of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin local organization. He has held several other offices of trust; he was treasurer of the town of Buchanan for six years and treasurer of the village for a time. Mr. Nelessen was born in the province of North Brabant, Holland, Nov. 17, 1849 and came to America with his parents in 1868. The family located near Little Chute, where Mr. Nelessen married Miss Maria Anna Josephs in November, 1870. In 1873 they settled on a farm in Buchanan, Outagamie county, where they resided until 1894, when they purchaced a farm near Wrightstown. In 1903 they retired and came to the Village of Wrightstown to reside. In 1895 they celebrated their silver wedding anniversary and renewed their wedding vows before Rev. Elzear De Wilt, who officiated at their marriage 25 years before at Little Chute. Mrs. Nelessen preceded her husband in death some years ago. Fourteen children were born of their marriage, of whom only five survive, namely, Nellie, (Mrs. George Bushman) of Kennan; Mary ( Mrs. Martin Nackers) of Wrightstown; Bernard of Suring, John of De Pere, and Antone of Wrightstown. By 36 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and by one brother, Henry Nelessen of De Pere, and three sisters, Mrs. J. Lasee and Mrs. N. Van Laanen of De Pere and Mrs. William Kempen of West Allis, Wis.
