Norman, the son of Louis and Amelia (Eichinger) Carlson was born on December 7, 1927 in Oshkosh. He was a veteran having served in the US Army. Norman married Shirley Coenen Biese on September 9, 1977 at Holy Spirit. He worked at the Appleton Post Office until his retirement on January 1, 1988. He was physically active and enjoyed horseshoes, golf and bowling. Norman was a member of Holy Spirit and the Little Chute American Legion Post # 258.

    Norman is survived by his wife, Shirley Biese Carlson, ten children: Dennis (Sue) Biese, Deborah (Butch) Sutton, Nancy Biese, Cheryl Wydeven, Mary (Dan) Fritz, Kay (Donn) Golden, David (Ann) Biese, Lori (Barney) Lopas, Joyce Biese, Patricia Canter, 21 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, his sister Jeannine Leatherby, a family friend George Ovigian, other relatives and friends.

    Norman was preceded in death by his parents, and two children; Janet Biese and Mark Biese.

    The funeral liturgy will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH (600 E. Kimberly Ave, Kimberly) at 11:00 AM with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Name Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the church.

  • Note: Lois Pomeroy, age 79 passed away at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna on September 25, 2014. Lois was born in Little Chute on September 2, 1935, daughter of the late Henry and Annette (DeBruin) Coenen. She was a 1953 graduate of the Kaukauna High School, where she later went on to a long career as a cook in the school kitchen. On April 21, 1954, Lois married David Pomeroy at St. John's Church in Little Chute. He preceded her in death in 1983. Later, she married Harry Michalowski; they were together for seven years prior to his death. Everyone will remember Lois for the many activities she was involved with. They included the Queen of Peace Choir at Holy Cross Church, the VFW Women's Auxiliary, the Ladies of Holy Cross, her square dancing groups, service as a volunteer at St. Paul Elder Services, as an Attic Angel, as a leader in Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts, and for playing sheephead with the very same group of friends since high school days.

    Lois is survived by her loving children: Terry (Colleen) Pomeroy and Gail (Rex) Anderson, both of Wauwatosa; Gloria (Jody) Ackerman and Fr. Thomas Pomeroy, both of Kaukauna; and Dennis (Shannon) Pomeroy of Pardeeville. Her grandchildren are Brad Pomeroy, Keri Pomeroy, Tracy (Matt) Berroa, Brad Polander, Meghan Polander, Jennifer (Sam) Purdy, Melissa Anderson, Ben (Candie) Ackerman, Laura (Chris) Pohlman, and Megan Pomeroy. Lois also loved her great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Pomeroy, and was looking forward to the birth of another very soon. She also leaves behind a brother: Bob (Rosella) Coenen of Freedom; two sisters: Shirley Carlson of Kimberly and Julia (Jim) Schuh of Little Chute. Many of the Pomeroy family members are still living, and they include Ken and Vi, Jean, Nancy and Elmer, Sherry and Ron, and Harland. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a sister: Sharon (Tom) Belling, an infant sister Gloria Coenen, brothers-in-law Norm Carlson and Jim Pomeroy, as well as the other Pomeroy family members, which include Ethel and Roy, Gladys and Joe, Willie, Bonnie, and Pat.

    The funeral liturgy for Lois will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 29, 2014 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Thomas Pomeroy officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Fargo Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00 PM until the time of a prayer service at 6:00 PM, and again Monday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass.   • Note: Sharon Rose Belling, age 71, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 13, 2010. She was born January 31, 1939, daughter of the late Henry and Nettie (De Bruin) Coenen. Sharon worked for the first Kaukauna Clinic for several years. She later worked for many local supper clubs. Sharon, affectionately nicknamed "Mouse," enjoyed going to the casino, and card playing, especially cribbage. She loved her family and friends and get-togethers were most important to her. Mouse loved the Christmas holiday because it was her special time to see all her family together.

    Sharon is lovingly survived by her husband of 51 years, Thomas Belling of Kaukauna; children: Lisa (Bob) Schleinz of Appleton, Joan (Mark) Ross of Little Chute, Kim Jadin of Appleton, Tom (Jodi) Belling of Kaukauna; grandchildren: Abby (Schleinz) and Mike Dion, Mark Schleinz and fiance Megan Sengstock, Nicole DuFrane, Bekki DuFrane and fiance Marcelo Fonseca, Micah Ross and fiance Lisa Otradovec, Emily Ross, Jackson and Charles Jadin, Michaela and Carter Belling; great-grandchildren: Dominic and Tyson Fonseca; brother, Bob (Rella) Coenen of Freedom; sisters: Julia (Jim) Schuh of Kaukauna, Shirley (Norm) Carlson of Kimberly, Lois Pomeroy of Kaukauna; brother-in-law, Dave (Pat) Belling and sister-in-law, Kathy (Dave) Hahn.

    Sharon is preceded in death by her infant sister, Gloria, brother-in-law, Dave Pomeroy, mother and father-in-law, Agnes and Ted Belling and nieces and nephews.

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2010, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Sharon's nephew, Fr. Tom Pomeroy, officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of Mass.

  • Note: Thomas R. Belling, age 74, of Kaukauna, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 1, 2012. He was born on February 13, 1938, in Kaukauna, the son of the late Roy Theodore and Agnes (Zefra) Belling. On June 13, 1959, Tom married Sharon Coenen at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Tom was the owner of Bell-Bilt Manufacturing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, card playing, especially cribbage and sheephead. Trips to the casino and playing a prank on someone were things that Tom looked forward to.

    Tom is survived by his children: Lisa (Bob) Schleinz of Appleton, Joan (Mark) Ross of Little Chute, Kim Jadin of Appleton and Tom (Jodi) Belling of Kaukauna; grandchildren: Abby (Mike) Dion and Mark (fiancé Megan Sengstock) Schleinz; Nicole DuFrane and Bekki (Marcelo) Fonseca; Micah (Lisa) Ross and Emily Ross; Jackson and Charles Jadin; Michaela and Carter Belling; great-grandchildren: Dominic, Tyson and Meelah Fonseca; and Chase Dion; brother: Dave (Pat) Belling; sister: Kathy (Dave) Hahn; brother-in-law: Bob (Rella) Coenen; sisters-in-law: Julia (Jim) Schuh, Shirley Carlson and Lois Pomeroy. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    William D. Van Boxtel, 37, 1719 N. Charlotte St., died unsespectedly at his home of an apparent heart attach about 10 p.m. Tuesday.
    Van Boxtel returned home from bowling about 9:30 p.m. and complained to his wife of chest pain. His wife called the doctor who recommened he be taken to the hospital. Mrs. Van Boxtel went to a neighbor's to seek help in taking her husband to the hospital. When she returned home, she found her husband dead on a hallway floor, according to Outagame County Coroner Bernard H. Kemps.
    Van Boxtel had not been feeling well for the last month, Kemps said.
    The Appleton Fire Department rescue squad was summoned and remained until Van Boxtel was pronounced dead.

She started working at St. Elizabeth Hospital when she was 16 years old and worked there her entire career. She most recently worked in Pediatrics. She was a very caring person and loved caring for others, especially children.

    She is survived by her sister Nancy Kriesel and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Rhonda (Roger) Haines and brother Martin (Kathy) Van Ryzin.

    At Betty's request, private services were held.

    Thank you to Dawn and Todd Davies and Karyn Van Ryzin for the care they gave Aunt Betty in her last few years.
